Taipei Love 101

You know what they say about doing good deeds?
Like being helpful and etc?

They always claim that doing good deeds and being helpful
means helping people not just only for the sake of helping,
or trying to gain good karma, but truly doing all those things
with every good intention coming from deep down in your heart

Yes, I agree
But do you know?
Nowadays, people have already forgotten the art of appreciation
If you helped someone or did a good deed, keep mum and don say it out,
it's not kind-hearted or being humble anymore.
Cuz the next time you just do something wrong, that particular person
will come straight back at you, forgetting what you have done for them
Mentioning about what you have done for that particular person or someone, it's not being evil or have a ulterior motive in mind, it's just being fair to yourself

You know why I say that?
Becuz the world is not fair to begin with
If it is fair, then why isnt everyone rich and famous?
If the world is fair, then why some ppl are better-looking than others?
If it is fair, then why would there be good guys and bad guys?
If the world is fair, then why isnt everyone studying in the Ivy League?
If it is fair, then why some companies would go bust?

Its solely becuz the world is not fair to begin with
That there are the hungry poor to showcase the wealth of the rich
There are the beautiful models to highlight the normal passer-by
There are the powerful to bully the weak
There are the strong to overthrow the meek
There are the scholarships to those who are using bank loans
There are the hardworking to the lazy
There are the bungalows to the slums
There are the smooth-sailing to the obstacles-impeding

Mentioning what you have done for that particular someone
Is not just about bragging rights
Or all about personal ulterior motives
It, in my most humble honest point of view, is just to serve
as a gentle reminder to that particular somebody, that actually
showing some form of appreciation, be it emotionally, monetarily,
physically or spiritually, is the simplest form of condolences for
the particular person who have gone out of his or her way
to do his or her very best and put in the utmost effort for you.....

Joanne's 21st Bday

Happy 21st Birthday once again
Sorry had to leave early becuz I couldnt take leave the next day
Couldnt take off too becuz it's just not me to do that too many times

But seriously, the group photo is awesome max!
Super like it for the colour combi
Which smart-ass dude came up with the clever idea by the way?
Can just go develop this photo and paste on the wall straightaway
:)

Filial Piety 101

After so much weekends spend doing research
Seeking help and doing coordination
Hotel bookings by the Net and through IDD calling
Day-by-day itinerary programme planning
Multiple flight delays in the USA
Flight itinerary timing changes
Time lag
Misplace and missing luggages
Numerous security checks
And maybe 3 or 4 freaking continents away
I finally got to link up my Mom & Dad with my Bro
in..........(the country of secret loves like 艾莉丝 and 林志玲姐姐)

T-A-I-W-A-N!!!

Still disappointed that I couldnt fulfill my duty as a filial son
By fulfilling my Mom's teenage girl dream of going to Taiwan together
As a healthy person with no ailment or whatsoever
Maybe that's why I went to Hong Kong this year first?
LOL!
Bastard son I am.....NOT!
(actually bastard is like quite vulgar)

After spending countless weekends and nights watching
all those numerous Taiwanese variety shows with my Mom
Especially 时尚玩家 hosted by 浩子 & 阿翔 & Sa-Sa
Which showcase all the good food in all the places of Taiwan

29th of July 2010
With a fiery determination to make things happen
I finally stood at Terminal 1 on this day
Watching them go past the Departure Gates
Sending them off in SG
While my Bro standby at the other side in Taipei's Tao Yuan Airport
All ready to go briefly in accordance to the itinerary I have planned
And let my Mom taste all those Shilin night market delights
Walk down the all-so-familiar-only-seen-on-TV of 淡水老街
(not so-only-on-TV in 24 hours time)
Take the elevator up the world's tallest building of Taipei 101
And many many more

I can only say
That at this point in time
I have finally ticked one major life objectives off
my Mom's mind, body and soul
And...............................................
I'm so glad that I did it
;)

Love,
勇俊

Seeing how you put so much effort into what you love

Taking it to another whole new level
It just puts me to shame
And yes, no excuses or whatsoever
Because I know subconsciously, I'm looking for them

7 months into 2010
And I haven come up with my resolutions for 2010
But now.......I have
And I'm working all out for it

A determined Yong Jun is not someone to mess with
And yes, the saying is true.......

“ 认真的男人最帅
认真的女人也最迷人 ”

Multi-tasking?
Been there, done that
Just need to be more consistent now

5th December 2010
See you at the starting line

Actually anything more than 5.5hours will be shameful
Cuz I'm not just aiming to get just a god-damn Finisher tee or medal
I'm aiming to hit a personal record
And know that I did it for a personal reason

Dream within a dream

I can miss "Toy Story 3"
I can miss "Despicable Me"
But I cannot miss......"Inception"

It was the most highly anticipated movie of 2010
With a plot that was 10 years in the making
A budget of $160 million
A highly star-studded cast of Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy and Mr Canon 7D aka Ken Watnabe (not Ken Nabei)
And a tag of being "Movie Of The Year"
"Inception" sure lived up to expectations!

5 out of 5 stars
Nothing less!
This is 1 movie I think I will pay money to watch it
again in the cinemas
It's so totally freaking epic cool mind-bending stuff that you dont
want the movie to end

An awesome movie or drama or serial always have a
great opening to begin with
"Inception" is no exception too

I know there are still critics who called this movie
too "brain-juice sapping"
Or whatever that is something along that line
But critics are always like that, to stand out, they have to write something different from all the others
And they still dare to say movie-goers this year were treated like dummies becuz of shows like "A-Team" and "Knight and Day"
(seriously A-Team rocks to the core!!!)
Some ppl are just too hard to please........

I thought "Shutter Island" was great
But "Inception" totally thrash "Shutter Island"
Totally T-H-R-A-S-H~!
And I tell you "Shutter Island" is freaking awesome too!
But there are ppl who tell me they dont
understand what it was all about
Talk about dumb audiences nowadays
Maybe there really are dumb audiences and dumb critics
Shit of the same mould lump together right?
=p

There are so many scenes
With all the little details coming together
Making me feel so awed by this movie
Some particular scenes would be the Master and would-be Architect scene, zero-gravity and of cuz the demonstrations
of "The Kick"
Sorry no spoilers, but all these are already showing on
the official trailers
But only when you see how it plays out in the movie itself
Then you know how good they are

And yes, I have to say sorry to the Wachowski Brothers
Yes, you guys did a marvellous job on "The Matrix"
And the 2nd Matrix movie featured the super cool twin brothers and the all-so-garang expressway car chase scene that I feel is still one of the best car chase scene I have seen
so far in the movies
But honestly, Chris Nolan dropped the bombshell by taking the filming right to the exact places like Tokyo, London, Paris etc
And a lot of computer effects were reduced to the bare minimum
Believing in not going into 3D is the most respected part too!
=D

Going through some of the trailers make me wanna go
back to the cinemas again
Damn!

And now I found some up-there wallpaper of the movie itself

The last 3 pictures are my personal favourite!
Totally rocks!

Finally, leave you guys with the official trailer of "Inception"

Did I mention I like the way Leonard DiCaprio talks?
Superb actor!

Cohesion

" Finish this 14km and you're a winner..... "

Struggling with stitches
Languishing behind everyone
This encouraging sentence from Jingwen was the
only thought that rang in my mind
Freaking complete the damn run in 99 mins
The number couldnt be nicer
=)

Who says in the Army you cant find good friends?
I beg to differ
At least Jingwen completed the entire run with me
That's what I call brotherhood

Brotherhood session also include a trip down to the track
Introduced to me by my Platoon 3 Specs
High-speed fun!

Anw this pizza is really damn good!

Secret Sergeant 1: Biyong

Secret Sergeant 2: Joel

Seriously....
"F1" was written all over it

This dude here
Was just a little kid I guess that is not more than 12 years old
Lewis Hamilton in the making

Not really in favour of 2-person car

Just took our time to check out other drivers

This was the car we were gonna rev on
200cc go-karting cars
Horsepower was around 15?
Not some Escape theme park step-on-accelerator-all-the-way-no-need-brake go-karting cars

Fatherly Love
A picture speaks a thousand words

Even the steering wheel was so up
Only if you have it custom-made though....

Adrian showing us the moves

Birei Full-Faced Helmets
In Jap, Birei means "beauty"
And yes this is one beauty that I like!
Check out the coloured visor

Anyways
The whole go-karting session was one damn fun day
All 6 of us go straight at each other like the F1 championship was on the line
I even saw Biyong executing a Lewis Hamilton-like move
He cut across the lane from right to lane and mount the kerb with the tires
While doing the S-turn and immediately accelerate out from the corner
Absolutely dare-devilish
But totally worthy of every applause

I also managed to caused 4 other cars to spin 360
Epic story!
E-braked as I nearly lost control
And the cars chasing behind all did e-brake and all span 360!
Nearly caused a major collision pile-up
Luckily no safety car was activated
HAHA!

All-in-all
This is a typical Alpha male game
Where guys still love cars instead of make-up
And can trash-talk each other whole day before racing each other
Rating: 4 stars (the price a bit steep though)

The week after the go-karting session
We had Coy cohesion too
Did all the photos with the 50mm
Guess there was nothing much worth using the 18-105mm for
So this is so gonna be a portrait-pictured entry
A good chance for me to practise with the 50mm too!

This was good I thought
The bokeh is nice!

The new PC3
2LT Shawn
Thought this looked good too

Hands-on with Xionghai's D90
The 24-70mm costs around $2.2k?
Seriously crazy......
It is worth more than my entire camera already
But the F2.8 was not bad
Although I thought the price was not to my liking
*cough*

Cheeky pose by the cutest Sergeant in 38th SCE

The new PC1
2LT Lauren(?)
Dono got spell correctly not

Still dont get what Alton is doing to me till this day
Must be cursing me.....
=/

My PC doing his presentation
Got the 帅-ness factor I thought?

Sgt Major

My REG PS Leng
The muscles are almost popping out from his singlet already

Xionghai
Showing off the Manual Overwrite feature
That is way cool!

Dinner Time

Chun Siong
认真的男人最帅

Ying Zhen
Our most fearless goal-keeper on the court
To the extent of using his face to save the ball
*thumbs up*

Dominic
Dom in short
Always remind me of the 法国廊酒
Rocks!

Chris
This was one shot which I spent some time to edit
Thought it looked good in the viewfinder
Decided to convert it to B&W to give it a different feel
Like the way how the smoke is partially covering his face
Give viewers a feel that lead their eyes to his face
Especially his eyes

Ops Spec Raj

OC Alpha

Classic Wen Yi expression

Meat is GOD!

Jingwen with his most Ah-Beng impersonation

Oh well
Got caught with food in his food
Candid Factor: MAX!!!

My camera shutter speed is way faster than him mouthing "SMLJ!" out
;)

Brand new way of eating a satay
As shown by Ka Wai

Over-intoxication of smoke - Ah Tu

Showing off the well-cooked chicken wing

Fire is LOVE!
Always like fires/flames and anything red/orange in colour since young
My BMT mates can prove it
HAHA!
Always share this joke everytime we meet

Smoky beef fillet
Totally off-the-charts!
Better than Burger King grilled burgers' patty
=D

Sausages are always the most in-demand food at a BBQ
As proven once again

Night dons and we are still are sharing all these fun moments

Of cuz the fun moments include the PS3 moments!
HAHA!

We were like damn depressed when the non-HD supported CRT TV cant support the PS3
Drove us almost to the point of breaking down
And smashing everything in sight
Tried every thing we could
But it just couldnt be righted from wrong

Oh well
Just as we accepted the bad news
Settled down and watch some Jason Bourne on Channel 5
Ding Feng went to recce online with the HTC Snap

And who says 宅男 are boring ppl?
They are the guys who helped us on that day!
With these 宅男 posting on a forum with regards to PS3 troubleshooting
We finally got the PS3 to work on the damn non-plasma TV!
Hurray and 3 cheers to Winning Eleven Action!

Zong Ming with the Street Fighter Joystick
Playing on the Winning Eleven
Obviously in a world of pain
HAHA!

Ding Feng scheming with Ying Zheng
On how to meet the other tag teams

Rawest expression caught on camera that day
Besides Jingwen "SMLJ"-shot above
Thought I scored a goal!
Already shouted out " GOAL! " liao
And someone had to cleared it off the line for a corner
SHITZXZXZ!
=.=

Andy with his triumphant pose
The smug look on his face
Totally can feel him!
*thump chest*

He finally broke his 5-games losing streak
Oh well, he broke it against me and Jingwen
With our imba combination
Thought we were going to be invincible that night
But oh well, it was not meant to be
Too many comebacks, too many not-so-possible late dramas
It would all soon end
And it did, at the hands of Andy & Ying Zheng

Thought the most epic one was the Holland-Spain Game
WC final early-bird prediction
Me & Jingwen scored 5 goals in total
After Andy & Ying Zheng went 2-nil up within 30 mins
The turning point was we equalised before we go into the break
HAHA!
And it went downhill for them right after half-time!
Wesley Sneijder is GOD!

I even scored with a one time ownself-cross-ownself-volley goal
GROUNDBREAKING E-P-I-C!!!

PS 2 Sgt Aaron after the MJ game

This group photo is sitting on my desk in camp now
=)

Thought this was good too!
Can consider putting it on the table soon
=D

And yes this cohesion was useful
In a sense we took back plenty of feedback and opinions from each other
Of cuz I got our Platoon 3 picture as well
Haha!
And it was the first time I didnt had to BBQ to get food
Totally love the feeling
This should be the way how BBQ works next time onwards!
;)

And the PS3 2nd chance feeling was awesome
4 players trying to kick each other over in Winning Eleven
And then Street Fighter IV action
Rocks!
Makes me wanna get a PS3 soon!
=)

And yes
This is one epic video
The fatty is great with his moves!
Hahaha!
No offence, but thought he was kinda cute too!
Enjoy~
