Light Exposure

And this is the lovely card that Wei Qin got for her 20th bday from us
Plus a very practical present which I think is very....PRACTICAL
Ya. So much for substantial English

Yet another B&W photo-themed entry...
Nah!

This time...
I felt like expressing myself in COLOURS
Oh well. This time round the colours pic looked better
=)

Decided to go ahead and arrived earlier at Changi V before
Wei Qin's bday celebration there

Had always wanted to go there to walk around the beach area
as I always admire the beautiful sights there but it seems like
I never did get a chance to do so
Everytime I'm at Changi V is always to go take a ferry either at
SFT or go to Pulau Ubin

So I walk from the famous Nasi Lemak stall towards the beach
And started snapping away with reference to personal feelings

After the roundabout
(I always have a thing for roundabout)

Duly arrived at Changi Beach Park

And besides the beautiful sights there
I think the other #1 reason would be this

Changi is a renowned spot for cycling ethusiasts
I have always seen ppl with very good bikes riding there
And of course the old aunties, uncles and youngsters who
rent the bike at a bike shop at Changi V there

Its a good idea to just cycle
Stop and rest
Sit at the beach
Take photos
Eat
Chit chat
Chillax
And go back the market to have a nice dinner
Splendid way to enjoy the weekend I suppose?
=)

Riding a pink bike would be cute too
=p

Sitting by the beach has never been so awesome
Watching the planes fly by
Up close
Hearing the engine roar
Somehow it doesnt felt like the F16s that fly by
The sound of the aeroplanes here...were just soothing

Or maybe it was me?
Whose confidence was at an all-time low this weekend
Plus the fatigue
Was rather on the downside of the emotion see-saw

Even the lazy cat knew how to enjoy herself on the sand

And she came closer and closer
Until I took the picture and realised she was standing in right front of me
A bit too close for comfort
So I decide to check myself for any food on me
But oh well, this cat was just being friendly
=D

And then she just pop in front of me
And decided to settle down
Cats are cute though
And they don't bark non-stop
1 point up for cats
Plus girls can have names that are like....Cat?
They cant have names that are like....Dog?
2 points up
=p

Now for some people-oriented photos by the beach

The Indian women was emo-ing
Same as me
Must have had a rough week too...

And the girl who enjoys photography as much as me
With the camera dangling in her hand
Soaking her feet in the water
Letting the gentle waves brush against her legs

And the uncle who seems to be gearing himself up for
some triathlon or biathlon

The little kid who is building a sandcastle with his parents
And the mom just brought the bucket along to top up some water
for her son who seems to be enjoying himself so much
Family love

This is even better
I think this looks very good
Family portrait
The skydrop was brilliant
I think their photo would looked great too!

And a few good friends enjoying the much-cursed SBJ
Ok they had fun with it
I never did
Argh!
$@!*&^!

4 footprints

And 3 abandoned fishing rods
Cant see the fishing line can you?

Somehow I think this picture gives me a feeling of...
It somehow looks good to me personally
Affection for adidas perhaps?
:)

And I just carry on walking along the coastline

Seeing all the ppl having fun
Family having BBQ
Children riding bikes or skate scooters
Toddlers building seemingly oversized sandcastle with their parents
Bikers and runners along the track
Couples holding hands walking barefooted in the sand
Underaged youngsters eating snacks on their mats
A lot of love all around

The sand was clean, soft and at a cooling temperature
Makes walking barefooted on it very comfortable

And I just walked from one end to the other
Watching the planes fly by
Enjoying the beautiful sunset
With no MP3 plug in
It was very calming indeed
No hustle and bustle
No rushing-to-wait and waiting-to-rush
Away from everything that was bad and evil

And I knew I had collected some photos that I personally like
So spirits were up
And of course naturally I feel more happy
Just cleared my mind off ALL unpleasant stuff

Just so pretty
The sun rays hitting the water and reflecting back up
I would have been a fool to carry on wearing my shades
Cuz all the sights were just too beautiful

And now presenting my 2 best pictures...

Nice?

This time all my photos had been taken with adjustments to
something know as " light exposure "
Read it up somewhere and decided to try it out
Looks and feels good
Giving more control to my photography
Nice!
=D

1st week out from SISPEC
Felt super duper shagged out
( " Shagged " is a naughty word )
=p

Had my IPPT
Didnt managed to get Silver becuz of SBJ
And this SBJ thing is getting to my nerves
Like a disease
Or the black suit in Spiderman 3
Slowing engulfing me bit by bit
Making me weaker and weaker
And more frustrated too

Not saying I never put in personal training or what
Is just the damn technique I cant get it right
Like freaking damn pissed with myself
Grrrr
Arggghh!
Suxxor suxxor suxxor

The world is evil becuz of SBJ
I swear if I get 4 points for SBJ
I would go run 944 and below for 2.4km
*cross tongue*

7 weeks to go
I dont wanna book out every week and hear/see negative stuff
Please pack your negative stuff and get away from me
Tsk

Heartburn

Came across many quotes
At where?
The toilets of all places

I specially walk 1 round to go read them
And one particular quote that I like

I think I should share with ppl

" When wealth is lost, nothing is lost.
When health is lost, something is lost.
When character is lost, all is lost. "

我已经尽量不要去想了。。。

Chinatown Classic

What's a rest without going to the infamous Yangtze cinema?
THEY SAY the seats are dirty and have white sticky stuff on it
And THEY SAY dirty old men go in with black umbrella to watch movies
PLUS THEY SAY...

WOMB RAIDER IS STILL SHOWING!!!
(Edmund just cant stop this with MK)

*gasps*
Horrors of all horrors
Terrible boys we all are
=p

Ok I just passed by that place while walking round Chinatown
And decided to go donate blood with Adrian
In like a snap of the fingers and...
We were walking from Chinatown to Outram!
24km already
Walking to Outram is like....2km?
=)

Anyways
What's a rest without eating good food?
(btw I lost 8kg during BMT ok? so don't flame me
and I have only gain back 1 or 2kg only)

So off I went to eat Dim Sum with my few good poly friends
And the location was Yum Cha Restaurant at Chinatown
Its a ulu ulu place at a shophouse on the 2nd floor of Chinatown
Off Smith Street
And it only has ala carte buffet on WEEKDAYS
Key word is WEEKDAYS ok?

I realised I always like to eat those pastries and sweet stuff a lot
And if the statement from those health mag are true
About " You Are What You EAT! "
Then I must be a sweet person who is made of flour
Hiak hiak!

The 1st sight that greeted me
" I Reuse(?) / Reduce(?) / Recycle(?) Girls "

This shirt is worn none other than CBK MK
Hahaha!
CBK and MK always rhymes in sync
=p

Yum Cha offers a wide variety of tea
And I think the tea goes very well with all the various types of dim sum

The very very very tasty baked mini egg tarts
1 for $0.80
Damn expensive!
And one is smaller than 1/3 of your palm
Gosh!
Quality over quantity
So to make up for the quantity
Always go for the buffet (like us!)
Eat until you EXPLODE
BOOM!

Anyway I think exploring Chinatown is always good
Chinatown has changed so much
A lot of things are different from the past
In terms of how the outlook, the structures, the items etc

Its a great place for taking photographs too!

How can one not resist taking photographs when you are there?
The vibrant colours and surroundings definitely deserve better than just squeezing with crazy 吃肉(in Hokkien) ppl during CNY

Saw this building in my Sect Comm photo album
He's took a different angle of this place
And it gave a totally different feel of my photo and his
"Scarlet" means RED right?
(and yes it is not RAD and it doesnt BOOMZ)
LOL!
So I manage to put some RED into the picture with the words in it!

All the colourful toys and whatever chap-pa-lang stuff there
They lined almost every single street and every single stall of Chinatown

Well, for the rest of the photos
I decided that they should be in Black and White
Still stick to my style of photos
At least I have a theme
(Even though my non-DSLR cam cant match up to those of the DSLRs)
Black and White just portray something different to me
A whole different...feeling
=)

Mid-autumn has arrived
中秋月圆 - 吃月饼 - 饮茶 - 赏月

Do you still see such wooden signboards anymore?
Suspended by 2 metal hooks only
Swaying as the wind blows
Ancient Chinese martial arts era style

Where is Mike Tyson?

If you have been to Chinatown and look at the 珍珠坊 building carefully
Its exterior is actually not as bright as it was previously
And this building has a lot of rich history behind it
I have a vague memory of it but cant really remember the raw details of it

Just wanna capture the building in its raw format
Somehow I think some colours would do justice to it though
=)

This building looks like those castle-like structures you see in Japan
With the Ninja training academy or what sort not
Gives a grandish feel to it among the shorter shophouses around it

One of my more likable shots during this time round
Didnt like the Singapore Pools, rubbish bin, and the man in the picture
Plus some girl at the corner of the picture
But somehow, if I overlook them
I still like this picture a lot
Has the increasing elevating effect on the roofs of the shophouses
=D

Just cutting through some back alley at Chinatown
Classic stuff here
No more stand-in-the-centre-take-the-photo stuff
Feels like the places whereby Mediacorp shoots their dramas

And the near empty streets of Chinatown
Before the dark clouds looms overhead
And thunder shall clapped while lightning would flash

Spot the irony in this photo?
Cleverly disguised
=p

Chinese lantern
Colourful among the Chinese-themed background
Yet convertd to B&W...

Down the steps in a typical Cheena shophouse

And so it would end with the lonely Uncle who sells ice-cream by the road

Tml shall be the day I start off BSLC at Pasir Laba Camp
Which is like....ermmmm....the other end of Singapore
Which means......ermmmm.....crazy travelling time?!

Ok best!
Makes me wanna emo just thinking about booking in to the new camp tml
Throw in the fact of all the heavy stuff I have to lug there
Plus the undeniable fact that it is at Joo Koon
Not at Boon Lay
(ok thanks for the reminder ppl....thanks ah!)

Anyways this block leave has been used quite wisely
I exercised for like everyday except 1 day
Then got plenty of good sleep
Good outings
Good companion
Got take nice photos that I like
Tried out Photoshop on pictures more
Read up more on photography
Tested out Jon's all new DSLR etc
And got finally got my BMT training pics at long last!!!

This is my favourite pic during the whole BMT
Its a group photo of us with OC Jaguar Captain Tey
Platoon 1
With all the commanders and men

We just finished the hellish BIC for the last day of field camp
With plenty of battle scars and fatigue
And not bathing and not cleaning and not doing what you can for 6 days
It's a toast of victory for everyone

Plus the BIC was exciting when I look back now
Not expecting what was behind the super high wall
Then the siren sound and you mount the wall with your rifle
And then just go all out chionging
Gave the finale execution
As I looked back now
I still think I did my very best and gave my all
=)

And this is the winning team of Captain Polo
We ownz every team on route to being the Champion!

How I started joining a sports I have never play before is...surprising
Mervin just asked if I got anything to do
Then I just said no
And he dragged me to join in
Furthermore he cant thread water
Thats craziness on both our parts!

Plus I met some nice ppl there too
Like Tim, Shi Kai, Ee Yong and Ming Jie
And some of these are top players for their poly in the polo team
And checking out how they execute those ridiculously good moves...
Just a pleasure in seeing ppl do what they do best
And of course PS Oliver who was a very nice guy to all of us
The way he talked to us and seeing how much he want us to win
Thats dedication for you
=)

And our neighbours in the pool
The Chain team
Check them out!
Garang-ness written all over their faces!
We are both Champions they always say!
=D

And last but not least
Our super duper ownage team in the Tug-Of-War
They do their Hakka Dance to intimidate opponents before the game

Some ppl ask me if I was big sized
Then I tell them I saw ppl 2 times of my size
And most of them are in the team here
I see ppl like Jun Bin and Clement
And they are like....BIG!

Saw them in action personally after our game and they were...
Oh well the word is "IMBA"
Nothing much to comment on their strength

So now...
I shall go emo in one corner and draw circles on the ground after posting this

Nah!
I shall go pack my bags for a brand new day
Looking forward to what shall await me in the future
Be it good be it bad
My motto for this remaining 1 year 8 months would be

"Tough times don't last, tough men do"
And I know I am a tough man

Lastly
I share a very nice MTV with everyone
陶喆-暗戀MV

Crossover or not
Thats another story in itself
And for now, I will write this chapter in my story book
By myself

For you I shall give
你走你的独木桥
我走我的阳光道
