Friends.
What type of friends do you prefer? Do you pick your own
friends or do you just go with whoever you know of?
I pick my own friends. Not because I think they are not
cool or they are more attractive. No. I have trust issues. People may think that I am very easy to get along
with (I know I am). I am friendly, and I have no probs making friends with
strangers. BUT, only if I want to. Only if I think I wanna know that stranger.
I am more driven to know those shy type of people. Haha. I
don’t know why. I just loveeee them. They are very shy, very insecure and
innocent (look). I find them very interesting, curious and what not because I just
have to know WHAT IS IT THAT YOU’RE HIDING FROM ME? Lol. Though there’s
nothing, just the way they are.
I don’t fit in easily with loud people. i always fight with them. dont really get along easily. U know when u were younger ur
mom, ur aunties and all said, u r most likely to find someone who is the total
opposite of urself. And if u fight/argue a lot with someone, u’d end up
marrying him – at that point I was so scared I was going to marry my own cousin
or my brother because I fought with them a lot. Incest wey! Euw euw euw.
When I was in primary school, I had friends who are
totally the opposite of myself. They were… different. We had different
interests, hobbies, liking in all things. But I don’t know why I stayed with
them, followed them everywhere, let them influence me on what to do, what I
SHOULD like, where I should go. It’s crazy. I stopped wearing shorts because of
them. I stopped playing with boys because of them. I asked my mom to wear
tudung because of them. Heck, I even wore tudung a week because of them. I asked
my mom to sack the maid because apparently my friends don’t have maids. And I was
so embarrassed to call my parents Mummy and Daddy. Lol. Now when I think about
it, I am so proud of what I am, what I have, what I do now.
As I grew older, I found out that there are many more
girls who are alike me, who share the same interest, hobbies, fashions,
activities, everything! I thank God I found them and stayed with them until
this very day. And that is the reason why I pick my own friends. I want to be who I am, not who they want me to be. I want to be able to decide for myself and have people who support me what I do.
However, we all have friends whom are not up to our ‘expectation’.
Well, some don’t have common sense, some lack of sensitivity. What do u expect?
Everyone cant be perfect. We all have our own flaws. True, we get annoyed by
some who think selfishly of themselves, but really, it’s up to u whether u want
to act against it or accept them for who they are. if u can tahan them, fine. If
u can’t, sometimes u have to talk to them (in a nice way). True friends will
accept ur advise. If they can’t, u don’t have anything to lose (or maybe u do,
just think wisely).
Anyway, I am just happy to have my friends that I have
now. Not the ones who keeps talking shit and backstabbing me the whole time. These
are true friends, irreplaceable. Those who stand by u throughout ur ups and
downs, who bare ur shit and nonsense, who give u advises and listen to u
intently. Who will always, be there.
