.Deepavali.

Ye'all!!

Before the day ends.. allow me to wish da' Hindu mates..

- Happy Deepavali -

Unlike the previous yrs, today's schedule was quite light.. Visited one of my mum's staff-Teacher Radha.. hehe.. a very nice Indian Lady.. keke.. She invited everyone in my mum's kindy to her house for this celebration!!

Food was great, chats too!! hehe.. Indian Food Rocks.. She hand-made lots of really "chun" food & delicacies.. haha.. Thx T. Radha!!

Caught sight of T. Radha's eldest son lighting the what-they-call a "Colum"(dunno the exact spelling.. but this was what it sounded).

To them, light represents happiness. So in this happy day, they believe that they should share the happiness with all other animals too.. So, in the olden days, they will place the colourful rice (whereby they grind the edible colours and rice themselves) outside of their house to be shared with. But well, things modernize a lot.. now.. they make a portrait with it!! haha.. Oh ya.. btw.. they will make the portrait on deepavali eve together as a family.*how sweet* and T. Radha's husband said that they made the "colum" til 4 a.m. this morning!! WhA... amazing!

Well, enough on Deepavali.. hehe.. since it's a public holiday today.. keke.. my brother's BEST friend came over for a sleep-over in our house.. haha.. Mr. CTS!! He was formally a student in my mum's kindergarten.. he came in before he was age 2.. like my brother.. n so, since their 12 now.. He's then my brother's 10 yrs long pal!! whoa~ hehe.. n Now, he's studying in an international school.. very outspoken kid! He's having his holiday now. So, he joined us in our Deepavali visit & we brought him to jln-jln.. keke.. went for bowling with him too! lol.. He had lots of fun !!

CTS & Jon!!

That's bout today!! ----> zZZZ

Beautiful...

hey again!!

Meditation for day 3: "Beautiful"

Paradox 1

I was in a test, doing questions set by my professor.

Scrolling down my question paper, I found it exceptionally easy. I was feeling really great, until I read the last question which rhymes :" What is the maiden name of the maid of our university?"

At the end of the session, I handed up my answer script, with the last question left empty.

I approach my professor & said :" Will you count the last question into the marks?"

"Certainly!" he replied. "Isn't that a bonus for all of you?"

I nodded and walked away silently.

The next day, I walked up to the maid, whom I passed by everyday, ignoring her presence.. and said "Hi" with a smile. I finally knew that, her maiden name was Mirana.

Paradox 2

A boy wanted to buy an ice-cream... & so he asked the waitress, "How much is a cup of ice-cream?"

"50 cents" the waitress replied.

The boy thought it was rather expensive and asked again: "What about a simple ice-cream?"

Inpatiently, the waitress replied,"35 cents".

"I'll have a simple ice-cream then," said the boy.

When the boy had finished his ice-cream, he cleared his bill and left the shop.

The waitress then went over to clear up the boy's table, at that point, she immediately fell into tears. There was a 15 cent tips left for her.

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder...

How do u define beauty?

Attitude is EVERYTHING

Hey! During the seminar's meditation this morning, I found this really good..

There was once a women who woke up one morning, looking into the mirror and noticed she had only 3 hairs on her head.
"Well," she said. "I think I'll braid my hair today."
So, she did & had a wonderful day.

The next day, she woke up and looked into the mirror. She saw that she has only 2 hairs on her head.
"H-M-M," she said, "I'll think I'll part my hair down the middle today."
So she did & had a grand day.

The following day, she woke up and looked into the mirror. She saw that she has only 1 hair on her head.
"well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
She did, and had a fun, fun day.

Next day, she woke up and looked into the mirror. She noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.

"YAY!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"

So, you see pals, Attitude is EVERYTHING !!

Be kinder than necessary, for eveyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...
...but, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

God loves you. :D

The LRT accident??

oh yes..

What happen today?? ok.. one LRT(the black one with the DIGI advertisement) stopped on the track. It's kind of usual for the LRT to stop in the middle of the track as sometimes there's timing differences.

The LRT i'm in (yellow one) was moving at usual speed.. Well, I don't know what reason was it due to... Suddenly...

A strong impact of inersia hit everyone in the LRT i'm in.

At about 6.20 p.m., between the Sg Besi & Bukit Jalil station, the LRT i'm in bang into the LRT(the black one on the track) BANG!!! Everyone in the LRT was pulled by a strong force towards.. imagine an emergency break when u're in the car... that's how it was like.

The difference is, there's safety belt in the car.. but none in the LRT.. passengers sitting was squeeze into one end... AND, those standing were worse.. they practically flew... n slam on the floor.. PAP!! *ouch*..

I was sitting at one end.. when the LRT(yellow) bang into the LRT(black).. I was squeezed like hamburger at the end.. That was no joke.. it was so painful.. my shoulder hit the steel pane beside man n it was like.. wha!! for a sudden i couldn't say a word..

The few ppl who squeezed into me.. ask if i was ok.. i was shaking my head n waving... (indicating no).. haha.. I couldn't say a word.. it was really painful.. wha.. for about a minute.. only i was able to say.. " i'm ok, ok!!" :D

So i started calling my mum to inform her on my delay of arrival n tell her what happened. keke.. but no worries... besides a few ppl who sprang their ankle.. joints.. minor bleedings n stuff.. there were no major injuries.. no death la of coz.. haha..

After calling my mum n a fren.. I immediately took pictures.. haha.. That was my 1st instinct.. i dunno why.. haha.. but I was seriously excited.. snap snap snap.. i was on-goingly snapping pictures.. wha.. fun! One of the aunty even said so loudly.. "wha.. look at this girl.. she's snapping pics" so, I replied.. "Of course la, when will you get such chance wor?? haha" at 1st they were laughing.. the next minute.. everyone was taking pictures like me.. haha.. geng leh!! keke..

After that, we have to jump out the train(it was so high man.. whooh), n walk on the "kononnya voltan tinggi" track all the way to Bukit Jalil station.. whoa.. that was really cool..

Thank God.. we're all safe!! hehe

Upon arrival at the station at about 7.15 p.m... there were so many paramedic teams, policeman, reporters n etc were already at the station.. whoa!!

That doesn't happen everyday man!! haha..

Pixxies... fresh from the oven!!

stucked in the LRT... waiting for the rescue team.. so-call la.. hahaha..

The panic crowd in the LRT!! hehehe..

"You jump, I jump.." haha People jumping out of the LRT!!!
WHoa!! can u imagine how high the height was?? look!! at the gap between the ground and the train it's almost the height of a man, approx 6 ft plus man..!!
It was quite scary to jump down.. u don't wanna jump off the track!! OMG..

Girls hv to jump too.. or else u'll be here alone!!

Helping each other!!

The 1st train... yes, the black one..

I'm finally off the train!!

Passengers walking on the "kononnya voltan tinggi" track..

See the accident between 2 trains? no? Closer look below

wha!! unbelievable right!! hehehe...

Claiming of refunds from passengers who fails to board the train!

The LRT from far!! rocks man!

Paramedics in action!!

Of course.. traffic congestion!! whooh!!

How's that?? Amazing right?? hehe.. I had a slight shoulder injury though.. but I'm grateful that God delivered me from danger.

hehe.. oh btw ppl.. my exam's finally over!! ya-hoo!!

I'm tasting liberty...................................

Homestay cum tour with the UK Guides

Duration: 3D2N (22nd~24th August 2008)
Hey peeps,
As promised, here are the updates on my fostering experience...

Day 1

At about 2.30p.m. , mum & I headed to the National Headquarters of Girl Guides(GG) to meet the overseas guides. They just got back from an international camp held in Perak.

They must be tired, we thought. But, guess what, when we gave them their choices, they prefer to start the tour rather than resting at home!! How adventurous!! That's the GG spirit yo!!

Squashing all of them (with their haversack) into my mum's Naza Ria.. haha.. how cute..
Behind(from left) : Toni, Samantha(Sam), & Elizabeth(Liz)
Front (fr. left) : Megan & Gabrielle(Gabbie)

Oh yes, it was jam(ming) & raining very heavily that day... T.T
To them, they get to see the scenes better!!
1st stop: Craft Complex, Jalan Comlay

Batik Painting.. ooo.. they enjoyed it a lot... A man was there to demonstrate to them the art of batik!! woo-hoo!!
It's their turn now!! Doing very well!!
Toni & Sam finished the painting quite fast, n so, they moved on to try out the wax outlining of batik.
Stone Painting : Tie & Dye Technique

This was new to me.. haha.. it might be to u too!! hehe.. OK, this is how it works, you put the stones/pebbles into the cloth(the white 1 I'm holding) with a rubber band tying it tightly.. then dip them into the dye.. wait for a while, then dip them into the chemical solution.

There're 3 types of chemical solution e.g. Iron solution - which will darken the part reachable(Those tied up with rubber band can't be reached), Copper Solution - which will redden the dye... n the last 1, I forgotten, sorry :) So after dying the cloth in the dyes, you dipped them into any chemical solution. I chose the iron solution, n this was the outcome.. ta-da...

Economy boosting

Buy-buy-buy!!! haha.. crafts of Malaysia are so attractive!!
2nd stop: Restaurant for dinner
(forgotten the name)

Some of the local cuisine.. hehe.. more to come!! I snapped the pix b4 everything is here bcoz they were hungry *tummy grumbling*!! haha.. & they can't wait!! So, I hv to snap them b4 they start!! wakakaka...
We gave them an option to use fork & spoon.. However, they love the art of chopstick so much, n were determine to use it throughout dinner, so... it was a seriously amusing dinner we have that night!! lol!!

Their guiders(leaders), Megan & Gabbie were great chopstick users.. Elizabeth was ok too.. though she dropped the chopstick twice.. hehe..

As for Toni & Sam, we had a hard time laughing...
Finally, Sam gave up... & chose to use the chopstick her "spaghetti" way.. haha
3rd stop: Petaling Street/China Town

Gabbie was interested in one of the dress, but, the owner doesn't have a mirror...=.=''' Well, Gabbie was smart, she saw me holding a camera, and hence, asked me to take a picture of her so that she can see how she looks.. *smart*
ta-da... beautiful!! haha..
Btw, we noticed that they love "bling-bling" stuff.. hahaha.. n so they stopped at this shop. Well, we then notice that they stopped for quite a long time, n finally, my mum asked, "Is any1 getting anything from here?"
"Nope.. " One of them answered... "We're trying to get some air-con here" =.=''' that was funny.
As we walked pass the stalls, it was so embarrassing on how the owners actually addressed my UK pals.. haha.. "Hey beauty!!", "Hey Pretty"..."phew-wheet(wistle-blow)" Well, a gentle "Hi" would be good enough!! One of them were even worse, he ask me to ask if they wanna hang out with him.. He says he wanna give them a beer treat.. He asked me to ask them.. Urgh!! How embarrassing!! =.='''
My UK pals were joking after that, "No wonder people love going to China Town, they feel so beautiful after that.. haha"
They bought a lot.. really a, RM 1 = L 6.xxx ... it was simply worth buying!! ahaha.. that was their feedback!! haha.. Well, since I was studying ACCA, I was practically their walking calculator.. Many of them kept asking.. "Sam.. wat's RMxx.xx devided by 6?? haha
At about 11.00p.m., we headed back home.. to be precise, it's my mum's kindergarten... coz there were too many of them, but well, they still love it, Sis & I slept with them there. Oh yea.. they wanted to wash their uniforms becoz they hv to wear them on Sunday..

ta-da... ain't they cute..

da' mothers
Megan & my mum had a great chat on the girl guiding activities in UK... btw.. Megan is a computer analyst in HSBC & a mother of 2... woo-hoo..
Day 2
Took a group picture in front of my mum's kindy in the morning!! Rise & Shine

4th stop:Old Town Coffee House

Initial plan of breakfast was McD.. Thought they might want something western.. Then, they said that they hv McD in UK.. They wanna try smth different & local.. *applause* So, we had breakfast at Old Town Coffee House.
Gabbie & Toni enjoying their Toast.. Sam(UK) had Nasi Lemak & curry chicken toast... she's really good at spicy food!! *bravo!*

5th stop: Sis's college... UCTI

Since there's a computer analyst.. Megan.. we thought of bringing them on a visit to an IT college.. hehe.. she's impressed!! woo-hoo!! Their lucky, coz they get to visit a kindergarten & college.. wow!! haha..
6th stop: Bkt Jalil National Stadium

A picture of the UK contingent
What a pose!! haha
Sam was trying to grab a picture of the "keris"

I took 1 for them.. they love this pic very much.. & I did not hv to lie down to take this pic!! haha.. So, Gabbie joked.. n said that Sam(UK) should practise more.. coz her several picture-taking did not turn out good, though she posed that hard!! haha..

7th stop: Mr. Aziz's house

Oh.. she was having a slight tummy upset..(due to the adjustments on the food & water)
Megan & mum talking to Katherine.

There was a banana tree outside Mr Aziz's lawn.. haha.. n these 2 girls were having fun with the tree.. they don't usually see banana trees in UK.. like us, the apple tree.
8th stop: Bird Park

flock of birds....
Tour organised by Mrs Lorraine Woon, my guider(in green)..
Mum, Megan & Gabbie chatting during the bird show!

9th Stop: Suria KLCC/Twin Tower

On the way in the coach!
Outside the park of Suria KLCC, the guides took the opportunity to grab some pix of our tall & majestic Twin Tower!! *honoured* lol . They just love to lie down to snap pictures.. haha.. it was Sam jz now, n now, it's Georgia's turn!!..
Sam, trying to be funny!! haha Careful Georgia!!!
Shopping in "IS Souvenirs". Guiding is not only FUN.. it's "economy boosting"!! haha... lol

10th Stop: Vistana Hotel : Farewell Dinner

Mrs Junie Simon, my state commissioner, presenting her opening speech
Buffet----variety of food!!
spaghetti!! look how happy they are.. feel so at home I guess??!!
Group picture of the "mature" ppl!! lol
Songs & Games session!!

Group presentation!! *applause*
Group picture again!!
Final stop: Eye of Malaysia, Titiwangsa

The UKs said that they have an "England Eye" back in UK which is much much bigger.. Well, they were still enjoying because it was a different experience for them!! hehe..

Finally, made them a disc containing photos & videos taken by our camera.. hehe..
They love it!
Day 3
Day 3 wasn't much because their flight was at 10.20 a.m. We gave them a new experience via the ERL rather than "boot-boot" car!! ahahah.. n ofcoz we accompanied them.

Checking-in at KL Sentral at 7.00 a.m. Guess how early did we woke up!
In the ERL.. Still chatting
Toni & Sam were so sleepy!! I manage to catch a picture of them before they snooze off!
Had a great chat with Gabbie in the ERL...
Time flies, & we're finally in KLIA!!

Bon Voyage!!

Souvenirs from them!! Thanks so much, they're lovely!!
It was such a wonderful & great exposure by being able to foster the guides from UK. I learn a lot, talk a lot, play a lot, laugh a lot & most of all, I had LOTs of freiendship made... the only setback is.. I did not get to sleep a LOT.. haha..
In all, I had lots of fun throughout the fostering experience. It's my first time taking up the fostering job n it was really good!! hehe.. Thank God for providing...............EVERYTHING in need! Amen!

Ps: If you're interested in Girl Guiding.. contact me.. i'll try to arrange you for the recruitment. Well, we have volunteers categories too, like my mum, if you do not wanna be so into it. I'm sure you don't want your teenage/young adult life to be "just-like-that", do you??
