Thanks to You Pillow Box

Love the size of the boxes created with the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Die!

Perfect for an autumn gift or favor...this one is filled with chocolate. I just stamped some Vintage Leaves randomly over the Cajun Craze die cuts. Embossed the beautiful oak leaves in gold and cut using the Leaflets Framelits and the thank you sentiment is from the Happy Notes set...this is available as a bundle with the Lots of Labels Dies.

This bundle along with the Vintage Leaves Bundle were on my very first new catalog order this year. I highly recommend both of these die sets...I have gotten a LOT of use out of both.

If you have been contemplating getting the Square Pillow Box Framelits...they are on the Holiday Retiring List, which are now available while supply lasts.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!

Flippin' Friday: Creative Elements Double Flip

Happy Friday! I'm here today to share a different kind of flip card...a double flip! The double flip is new to me...but I guess maybe I might be living under a rock, because another creative stamper shared this back around Christmas time. Anyways...when I saw it the other day on Pinterest, I knew I had to try one!

Isn't this a fun alternative? I love seeing new ways to use my dies...it makes them that much more versatile!

To create the double flip,  first, you must start with a piece of card stock that measures 4 7/8 x 7-1/2" and run it through the Big Shot stopping just after it cuts through the label portion. Back it out of the machine, and then flip the card stock to do the opposite end. Clear as mud? Here is a link to a great video that shows you exactly what I'm trying to say.

Then just decorate it as you like...I used my favorite new background stamp...Hardwood to stamp the Coastal Cabana base. The Hardwood background is available in the Occasions catalog. I hope to see more great background stamps in the new catalog out in June.
The Creative Elements set was used for the rest of the stamping here. I love using the border stamp to decorate the edges of cards and scrapbook pages. I think this is a really versatile set. The pretty swirl was stamped onto each of the Whisper White label pieces in Pool Party ink. The butterfly was then stamped right on top of it using Strawberry Slush ink. I stamped the butterfly again onto scrap, this time inked in Calypso Coral to coordinate with the strips along the edges. I punched out the center of the butterfly using the Bitty Butterfly Punch.

The back side of each of the label flips are perfect to stamp a greeting on one and write a message on the other.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Flippin' Friday: Purple Peaceful Petals

Happy Friday! It's been a while since I did a Flippin' Friday post...so here's one for you that's pretty & purple!

This ruffley looking dahlia is fun to watercolor! First, I stamped the image in Black Stazon onto Whisper White card stock. As usual, I used my Aqua Painter and inks pooled in the lids of my ink pads. These are the colors I used:

  • Wisteria Wonder
  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Elegant Eggplant
  • Crushed Curry

Then I punched out the flower using a 2-1/2" Circle Punch which fits perfectly onto the Thinlet Flip Card base.

I used the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder to decorate the edges and the Beautifully Baroque EF to give a nice pattern to the base of the card.

Many times when I'm watercoloring, I will stamp numerous images and color all at the same time. That's exactly what I did this time...one of each flower in the Peaceful Petals set. I've already shared the other two cards in the past week. Here is a look at the Peaceful Petals Trio.

This would make a nice set of cards to give as a gift...make a pretty box that coordinates and include matching envelopes.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Flippin' Friday: Birthday Candle Wishes

It's Friday & I have a fun birthday flip card to share with you today!

These big birthday candles (Birthday Candles Jumbo Wheel) and bright, cheery colors from the Quatrefancy Specialty Paper make this card so much fun!
A little glitter applied to the flames for some added sparkle. (I used Dazzling Details brushed on with my Aqua Painter)
The "wish big" banner is from the Occasions Catalog set, Another Great Year. Here's a look at the flip side.
The birthday stamp used above is part of the Sale-a-Bration set See Ya Later...I highly recommend adding it to your collection... if you haven't already!

Have a great weekend!

Flippin' Friday - Sweet Sorbet Petals

Here it is Friday and I almost forgot to post my flip card. So, here you go...todays card is using all new goodies from the Occasions Catalog and upcoming Sale-a-Bration.

The Sweet Sorbet DSP is so much prettier than it shows in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. I love the soft colors with the pop of black.
I created an extended panel for this flip card so I would have more of an area inside to write a note.
The pretty dahlia image is from Peaceful Petals. I just stamped in Black Stazon and then water colored using my Aqua Painter and ink.

Thanks for stopping by...ENJOY your weekend!

Flippin' Friday: Flippin' For Petite Petals

It's Friday already! What a week it's been...we've seen more snow and freezing temperatures than we sometimes see during the whole winter season! Schools have been closed for several days and it's been well below zero...they are saying it is going to warm up a bit over the weekend, so that will be a relief! Is it wrong that's it's only the beginning of January yet here I am already thinking Spring? Uh-oh!

I cannot help it...the soft colors in the Sweet Sorbet DSP, which will be available during Sale-a-Bration for FREE, along with the new Petite Petals stamp set have me thinking Spring for sure! Living here in Michigan when I know it's going to be a loooong time before I see real springtime flowers, these new items certainly are a welcome diversion from all this cold & snow!

The Flower Shop set and the coordinating Pansy Punch have been my favorites since they were introduced in the last catalog...so I was excited to see the new Petite Petals stamp set along with it's coordinating Petite Petals Punch offered in the new Occasions Catalog! They work well together, don't you think?
I really like the pop of black included with these soft, pastel colors in the Sweet Sorbet DSP...it really makes it fresh & fun, don't you think?

Stay warm & enjoy your weekend!

Flippin' Friday: Creative Elements Style

I cannot believe it's flippin' Friday already! This week has flown by! Too much to do, and just not enough time to do it...tis that time of year! I did finally finish all my Christmas cards, so next week I'll be sharing those. (some of the recipients occasionally look at my blog, so I wouldn't want them to see it here first) This one isn't a Christmas card, but I did use some products from the Holiday Catalog in a non-holiday way.

Doesn't the stamped main image look like I took a lot of time coloring and then tediously cutting it out? It was actually stamped on Whisper White in Cherry Cobbler and then I used a sponge dauber to lightly add a bit of color.

Then I masked off the flower, with a post it note cut in the shape of the flower...stamp on a post it and then cut. I read a smart tip not long ago: cut several masks at the same time by cutting through several post it notes at once. DOH! Wish I had thought of that, or at least read it a lot sooner...I've been doing it the hard way, one at a time! Once you take the time to cut out the mask, it can be used over and over, so  just store in your stamp case for next time.

Anyways...once I had my mask over the flower, I sponged on some Early Espresso. Then added the pretty swirl design. The best part is when you pull off the mask...the image just pops!
I used paper from the Season of Style stack along with the coordinating Washi Tape and the die cut thx from the Circle Card Thinlits accessories that comes with this die set..

I have another busy weekend ahead of me...as I'm sure you do! Thx for stopping by today!

Flippin' Friday : Simply Sketched Trio

It's Friday! That means I have a new flip card to share with you! Actually, it's a set of three cards made with the beautiful hostess set Simply Sketched and Quatrefancy Specialty DSP.

Here's a closer look at the Daffodil Delight card...
I think the little white embossed edge adds nice detail to this card. I used the Needlepoint Border EF. Here's a closer look at the Strawberry Slush card.
The left panel of each of these cards were stamped with the beautiful swirl from Creative Elements using coordinating ink. I think my favorite of the three may be this last one using Pool Party.

To watercolor these images I just stamped them in Basic Grey and then used my Aqua Painter and Classic Inks pooled in my stamp pad lid to color. Which one is your favorite?
This is going to be a busy weekend for me...shopping, decorating, parties...and hoping to get the rest of my Christmas cards done. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Flippin' Friday - Daydream Medallion Boxed Set

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Yesterday I shared a cute box made with the Envelope Punch Board and promised I would be back today to share the set of cards that fit inside the box. So, here they are...

These 3 flip cards cut with the Circle Thinlit Die fit in the coordinating box along with three matching envelopes. They were quick and easy to make using the Daydream Medallion stamp set and the Floral Framelits.
The colors were chosen from the Quatrefancy Specialty Papers. The sentiments are from the Hostess Set Simply Sketched. They were punched out using the Large Oval Punch and matted onto one of the die cut pieces included in the Circle Thinlit set.You cannot tell so much from my photos, but the white 2 - 1/2" circle is embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF.

If you don't yet have the Floral Framelits...you are in luck! They are on sale right now as part of Stampin' Up!'s Weekly Deals.

If you are local and would like to make this set or a Christmas version, please contact me.

Enjoy your weekend!

Flippin' Friday - Fall Flip Card

Happy Friday everyone! Here's a couple of Fall Flip cards I made using the Label Card Thinlit Die and the ever versatile set Lovely As a Tree. This one is a thank you card, but it could just as easily work as a masculine birthday card or a Thanksgiving card as you will see in my other version below.

I randomly stamped the oak leaf image from this set (mask off the parts you don't want inked with post it notes) and then wheeled over the panel with the Timber wheel.
The panel on the right uses Early Espresso Core'dinations Card stock which I embossed using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. The tree was colored with my Aqua Painter and various colors of Classic Ink.
This is the Thanksgiving version which has an extended panel.
The Charles Dickens quote was from the retired set Always Thankful. The embossed panel flips put for a larger space to write a message.
I just added a little interest with some stamped leaves in Crumb Cake and some Washi Tape from the Epic Day Collection.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Flippin' Fridays - Flower Shop Flip Cards

OK...I can honestly say I've officially flipped over the new Thinlits Dies that make these super cute flip cards. It seems like these are the only cards I've been making lately! I just got the Circle one in my last order that came earlier this week, but I've been too sick to even play with my stuff. :-( Today I am feeling much better though, so I plan to have some fun stamping. First, I thought I had better update my blog since it's been a while and thought it would be fun to showcase a new flip card each Friday...so for my first "Flippin' Friday" post I have several cards to share...all using the same design, but with different DSP and accents.

I love the color combo of Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Gumball Green & Daffodil Delight picked up from the Epic Day DSP.
The Subtles Candy Dots are the perfect accent to dot the "i" in "hi" and for the center of the flower. Here's a couple more variations of this card using the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits.

I told you I have been having fun with these! Here are a couple more cards using the same color combo but with the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP.

Helpful hint: When cutting out detailed peices such as the "hi" die cut shown above, use waxed paper in between the card stock and your thinlit die. It makes all the difference in the world when trying to remove it from the die after it's been cut.

Since Pool Party is such a light color, I used the Rock 'n Roll Technique on the stamped & punched flower. First, I inked it in Pool Party, then I rock 'n rolled it in Island Indigo so it would stand out more.

Hope you enjoy these flippin' fun cards! Have a GREAT weekend!

Best Fiends Flip

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I'm here with another Halloween flip card to share today, created with the new Thinlits Label Die. These are so much fun!

I just love these Halloween prints from the retired Ghostly Greetings DSP! Isn't ol' witchy poo just gorgeous in her Razzleberry dress? She is one of the awesome images from one of my favorite retired sets...Best Fiends. Here's a closer look so you can see all her warts.

Isn't she lovely? Here is the card as it opens...
and on the flip side...
This card has the extended panel, which creates an extra area to write a message. I show how to do this on this post. The "Witching you...a haunting Halloween" message is from another cute retired set aptly named, Haunting Halloween.

Don't forget to check out the Get Inspired Blog for the final Thank You Thursdays Special!

Have a haunting Halloween!
