I just get a big grin on my face when I look at this Hambo Winter rubber stamp from Hambo Stamps--It's called Snow Pig-3219 and I colored it up with Copics and gave it a place of honor on my recent CAS card! I used an embossed card front run through my Texture Boutique with a snowman worshiping the snowflakes and then mounted my image on pop dots. He's even got a jazzy green stickled hat and boots! I also used the Warm Winter Wishes-4710 sentiment which is one of my favorites. I used a Spellbinder oval scalloped die on the sentiment and then glued some flower soft on the edges. There's also a pile of it at the
bottom of Snow Pig. I accented the larger snowflakes with some Inka-Gold in Silver, icicle Stickles on the snow dots and a large glittery snowflake attached to the image. I just love the images you get at Hambo-they're so clear and detailed-very easy to print with and color in! Thanks for visiting and come sit a spell again~Carolyn

Christmas Challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy~My Grafico
My Grafico is sponsoring this Challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy this week. We always have such neat ideas for sketches and it makes your time so much more productive when you have a blueprint on how to lay it all out! You can turn the design, substitute say a flower with a ribbon bow, like I did-gives you many options that you know will work together.
One of our DT members was asked to go to their website and pick out an image/set of images for us to use this time and I think she did a great job. Check out all our designs to get some inspiration!
I chose Santa for this 6x6 card and some of the accents are stickles on the bows of the presents and the ornament in his hand, some paper lace, coordinated Christmas papers, seam binding that I turned into a crinkly vintage bow by using walnut spray and added a button center.
Hope you all had a tummy filling Thanksgiving meal and now you're looking for ideas for all those Christmas cards! Come back again soon! Carolyn

Feeling like Christmas Thanks to FRED, SHE SAID
I don't know why I try and make things more difficult for myself when I make cards-that wild imagination of mine I guess..Clean and Simple(CAS) cards test my senses because I'm always trying to say "what if I put..." but with this stunning digital image from Tracey (aka Fred, She Said) it just screamed to me to make it the focal point of the card. This image is Pointy Poinsettia Flowers Pre-Colored and can be found here. It's a great group with a set of the green leaves, and 3 different sizes of red poinsettias that I just stacked. I chose to mount a button in the center but you could just as well use some bling or some stamens. The edges have glitter from Create a Craft. The front is a snowflake folder from Anna at a great Scrapbook swapping site called My Scrapbook Place . We have loads of fun there-come visit and stay a spell. The red paper "ribbon" is from my stash and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I finished off the inside with a red top note die and it's just waiting to be mailed to a special friend.
Since Black Friday is almost upon us with all sorts of sales and I happen to be talking about Fred, She Said, this seems to be the time to let you know she is having an online sale worth 30% off purchases over $10--what a great time to use it to get some new Christmas digitals both B&W and pre-colored! I know you can find something you'd like-
Everyone have a Blessed Thanksgiving and understand that the most important thing is not the food, or the day off from work, But the friends and family that you surround yourself with on this special day. I would also say that I'm also very thankful for 2 friends Linda Weber and Pat Martin that came to my rescue and made by blog so Festive! Carolyn

Hambo Christmas-HO HO HO- is in the Air!
Christmas is sneaking up on us so quickly!! They are getting us all in the mood for getting our Christmas cards finished over at Hambo Stamps ! On Team Squeal, we are working in Rubber Stamps for the rest of the month of December. I love the clear details that you get with them and here is an example where I used Reindeer Gift-4314 and Brown-Noser-4318 on a Christmas Plaid DP. I decided to carry out the theme of Brown-noser by stamping two reindeeers matched like twins-their brown coloring is a little different but the clothes and presents are matching. Well then comes along the reindeer that wants to be different so of course he's dressed different-has puffy paint for his fur jacket, trimmed in glitter, different colored outfit and a BROWN stickle nose. I added a shiny red metallic bow at the top corner of the die cut~Flower Soft around the outside of the red oval die cut~then I made a cluster of The Brown-Noser Hambo sentiment/Cranberry and green oversized buttons/2 printed Christmas Cardstock Tickets/and antiqued, crinkled brown seam binding. That's when I saw the flower soft fluff on the leg of the reindeer-makes it look like his leg is broken! He's fine~ Doesn't the festive polka-dots liner look cute? It's also got a red top note die cut inside. Hope you like my card and that it inspires you to get started! Carolyn

Seems a Little Sketchy #26 Challenge with Delicious Doodles
Once again at SALS they are giving us a layout to use for this challenge and it's sponsored by Delicious Doodles ! For this one I've used their image called Kingfisher in the Rushes and it comes with either Dragonflies or Butterflies. What a great digital for masculine cards or for someone that loves nature! I extended the card so that I could put a sentiment on the side. The Dragonflies have green stickles on their wings and buggy eyes and the Kingfisher has a black diamond stickles dot on his eye. I distressed the edge of the card, used dew drops and an embossed card front to follow the pattern. Hope you like and will be back soon! Carolyn

Think Christmas with the Southern Girls Challenge
Time for another challenge here at Southern Girls, YAY! This fortnight we want to see Christmas Projects. Yep it is getting way closer to that time of the year and this is a great opportunity to get started on your cards for loved ones.
The Challenge is being sponsored by Delicious Doodles and she will be awarding 2 prizes: one for gals in Australia/New Zealand, and the other for entries from the rest of the World.
Her image that I chose to use was Poinsettia Corner. I attached it to the outside of a card blank and fancy cut it down to highlight the beautiful flower. The BP is from K & Company-I glazed the berry balls with Diamond Glaze. The glow from the candles is already glazed and sparkly on the paper. I accented the beads with Liquid Pearls and I used white Flower Soft for the snow. There's plenty of room inside the Poinsettia flap for a greeting. I hope this will entice you to start of YOUR Christmas cards-it means so much more when it's handmade!

Happy Birthday Tim Hunter~Hambo Stamps #1 Artist
Team Squeal is joining all the other Bacon Bits on Hambo Hoedown, wishing Tim the Very Best of Birthdays EVER! We will actually be a day early BUT that is the Surprise! Woot Woot!
He's always giving us such entertaining and unique digital and Rubber Stamp images that I was Thrilled to join in the fun and create a Birthday Card especially for him.
I used the neat Fall Rubber stamp called Crows-3820 and in order for them to "hold" the flying confetti ribbon, I cut their beaks and slipped the ribbon under them. Highlighted with lemon Ice Stickles made them really show up! You'll find the sentiment that I used at the same location at Hambo Stamps--Just Be-Caws-3808. I mounted it on a section of candles and then used the stickles on the flames.
Tim thank you for your creativity and the ability to put a smile on our faces! Hope you have many more! Carolyn

Squigglefly Challenge #43--Be Square~WINNER!!
This week's challenge on Squiggle Fly was to use at least 2 squares on your project. I've been wanting to use this digital image by one of their Artists, Diana Garrison and her creation called Butterfly Beauties. The Beauty of using a digital image is that you can alter the size of them to suit your needs. Now I must say that a larger image would have been SO much easier to color with my copics but then I couldn't have used the square features!
I used the SQUARE Renaissance Spell Binder die, SQUARE mat buttons, SQUARE embossed grid folder that I ran through my Cuttlebug with deep blue cardstock, and <<chuckles>> an ELONGATED SQUARE image by Diana (otherwise known as a rectangle!). Some accent features on this card are the iridescent Stickles that I used on the Moon and the pale yellow sheer ribbon with swirls to compliment the scroll work on the die.
The Challenge is even more interesting this week because there wasn't a winner in last week's contest--now 2 images are up for grabs! Wish me luck!! Thanks for looking, Carolyn
