Christmas at the Zoo

Hey everyone! Sorry it has taken me a while to post again. While I would love to be posting Christmas pictures, I can't get them uploaded to my computer. It seems I have run out of "sufficient PC space" (as the pop-up keeps telling me...) to upload any more pictures as of right now. We are looking into the problem. So please bare with me until we can get this situation figured out.
Anyway! On to what pictures I do have. Brandon, Luke, and I went to the Zoo on the Saturday before Christmas. Luke thought it was a lot of fun to go with both mommy AND daddy.

I hope to post Christmas pictures soon....as soon as I get them on here, you all will be the first to see them!
Thanks!

Merry Christmas from Luke

Hey everybody, it's me, Luke! We have been very busy this past week with Christmas coming up tomorrow. My mom says that Santa is coming tonight. I hope he doesn't try to hold me again like he did at the Museum. :)
Last Monday we made cookies with my Grandma. My Auntie and Grammy stopped by for a little bit too to help. We had so much fun. My favorite part was eating the cookies, but putting the sprinkles on was a lot of fun too.

Thursday night we had small group and it was our annual Christmas Party. We exchanged gifts and the adults had their white elephant gift exchange. But all us kids missed that cause we went to bed. That was a fun night! (Mom wanted me to tell you she will post pictures of this later too because her computer won't let her upload any more pictures right now.)

Then on Friday we did cookies again!! We went to Grammy's house and Auntie was there and lots of cousins came over. My mom's cousins Olivia and Jenny, and my 2nd cousins Gavin and Brayden. We had TONS of fun. But my favorite part was eating the cookies. Man they were good!
Mom says that Friday also marked the one year anniversary for my blog!

Yesterday we had Christmas with Grammy, Grandpa Jeff, Auntie, Terry, and Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Fish. (Olivia was there too!) It was a lot of fun. I got a kitchen, a really cool Thomas Chair, and some more Veggie Tales videos and cds. OH! and a 4 wheeler! Mom told me she will post some pictures of yesterday as soon as she can get them loaded...for some reason her computer won't let her. :(

I also turned 15 months old yesterday too! I am such a big boy now and have learned so much. I love learning new things.

Well, that is all for now. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and enjoys all your time with Family and Friends!
Love, LUKE

Being a mommy to a toddler has taught me...

(These were all taken from a mommy forum I am a part of. All of our kids were due in Oct. of 2006 and were born b/w August-November 06. They were too funny NOT to share with you all!)

1. Just when you think you won't be "one of those moms" whose kid has a melt down in public......you are.

2. All Christmas Tree ornaments must begin about 2 feet up from the bottom.

3. When he is quiet.....something must be up. Check him.

4. The minute you leave home without a diaper, even to just run to the store down the street, he will poop.

5. All the hugs, kisses, smiles, and sillyness will make you laugh AND cry AND realize your baby is growing up.

6. Just when you think you have stashed away all pacifiers....He will come out of the room with one in his mouth and smile, then run from you.

7. Those legs may be short, but she can climb onto anything. ANYTHING.

8. The cat looks better with pasta on its back.

9. Arching your back and letting out an ear-piercing "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW" can land you about anything you want.

10. It feels better to poop into a FRESH diaper than one that's a teensy bit wet.

11. "I" is universal for "HI" and "Bye". Kind of like "Aloha."

12. A tiny, 4" bobbing ponytail on top of a little girl's head can make you forget what you were upset about.

13. No matter what I am eating or when, I must share.

14. That standing in the bath tub is much more fun than sitting in it.

15. No matter how many times he climbs and falls off the same thing, he will continue b/c it's fun!

16. Toys that are scary are fine to play over and over again if mom is there to hold onto!

17. That no matter how good mom might think the food is, it tastes sooo much better directly on the tray instead of a plate.

18. One way or another, those little hands WILL find their way into the toilet!

19. "No, no, no" is a fascinating word.

20. Sometimes they just NEED to be held. All the time. No matter what. Especiallly if you were planning to actually accomplish something.

21. They will surprise you with sweet messy kisses and tight leg-crushing baby hugs.

22. You can let him play on his own and become independent, but he will always look for you to see if you are watching

23. While out shopping all toys in his stroller will be out of the stroller, and back in the stroller, and back out of the stroller, and back in the stroller.....

I am sure there will be plenty more that we will learn as we venture more and more into toddlerhood!! If you have something your toddler has taught you, leave a comment, and maybe, just maybe I will add it on a later date!

Santa is coming soon!

Let's just say, Luke wasn't too thrilled to actually meet Santa. At the Children's Museum with Auntie
Waiting with Mommy to go down the slide
WHEEE!!!
Here are our attempts at getting a great photo for our Christmas cards...
This is the one I went with this year (and one other that I didn't post)

This was our attempt last year....at almost 3 months old. Do you see a theme?? :) I think this is one of the one's I went with...
Here we are at the Children's Museum again! We went with Ava and Isaac and their mommies. Luke had so much fun.

His new favorite thing to do....the water table!
With Ava playing in the sand, which Luke decided to dump on his head. :)
With Isaac at the train table.

Sorry it has taken me so long to post again. We were all sick this week with some kind of 24 hour flu bug. Luke got it first on Sunday, then Brandon on Wednesday, and I thought I was in the clear, but came down with it Friday night. YUCK. We are all feeling better now though and hopefully we will not get sick again for a very long time!

First SNOW!

My sister and I took Luke outside yesterday for maybe a total of 10 minutes to play in the snow for the first time. He wasn't so sure in the beginning. He didn't really know what to do...Here he is mad at me because I walked away to take his picture. Then he figured out that walking around in it was soooo much fun! Thanks Auntie for showing him how much fun it was!! Here is Luke when he went out for the very first time in the snow. He was literally out there for like 2 minutes. Brandon was doing some snow shoveling or something. He was 4 months old.He wasn't a huge fan of his snow suit. :) Here he is the other night, just thought it was a cute picture. :) (I can't seem to get rid of the red eye.)

Luke's new favorite thing to do....

We brought his slide from his pool inside for the winter...and we are pretty sure he LOVES IT!! What do you all think? :)

poor little man

Well, Little Man has his 2nd right ear infection. He had his last one about 6-7 weeks ago. Hopefully this will not be a reaccurance, but only time will tell.

He had been acting cranky since Wednesday after he woke up from his 2nd nap..and I felt around in his mouth and sure enough, his top left molar was coming in. So for a day or so I chalked it up to that. But finally on Friday when he wouldn't stop crying all night long and all the next morning, I took him in to see Dr. Duck. Yep...ear infection. I felt so bad I waited to so long...just when you think you are getting the hang of being a first time mommy, you go against your instinct. Oh well, you learn something new everyday and now we definetly know when to take him in because of his ears.
Okay, enough of my ramblings...on to pictures of LUKE!

Here he is out to lunch on Thursday with Grandma Mayo and Aunt Kayla. He wouldn't eat much, but he sure loved to play in the ranch dressing! :)
Here he is on Friday after the doctors office, deciding what he wanted to play with, if anything, in his playroom. (see him playing with his ear? that is now a sign to let us know his ear hurts!)

On Saturday, after THEE roughest night we have ever had with him. All three of us only got about 3 hours of sleep that night. Poor little man was up all night crying. Brandon finally put on veggie tales at 4am to calm him down. so sad!

we were supposed to go and have breakfast with Santa at Metropolis that morning too...but couldn't. Sorry Grammy, Grandpa Jeff, and Auntie Emily!
snuggling with Grandma and Grandpa Mayo

chillin' with Grandpa
On Sunday, he felt soooooo much better. I stood and looked at me like this for a minute or so, so I tried to get him to say cheese...
trying..."I'm sleepy mommy...""I can say cheese....well try to at least!""what?? did I do it?"
