My Baby Karly

I know a lot of my friends, family and co-workers have been asking to see pictures of Karly's room. My sister, Katie, actually already did a great post on her blog of the room and baby shower (if you wanted to look at hers too, click on the link "Kate & David" blog on the right side of my blog) I thought I would just add some pictures too... Karly got quite a few gifts that changed the look of her room! I LOVE IT!
FIRST LET'S START WITH THE SHOWER...
The invitations of course had to include tinker bell!
We all worked together to make the shower beautiful... My mom made a yummy potatoe salad, we worked on all the decorations together! My sister-in-laws are always so creative... they put together favors for everyone... a chocolate dipped pretzel that looked like a fairy wand and tic tacs!

Too CUTE!!!As you walked in, Katie had put together a blessing box, where you could write a blessing for me and Karly... I love them... they are now on Karly's blessing ring (a gift from Auntie Sue, Tracy, Lisa, Hailey, and Jenna) hanging on the back of her door in her room. My very talented mother made this beautiful flower arrangement for the shower. And Katie put together the picture of me pregnant with Karly (it is really beautiful) She has it on her site where you can enlarge it to read what she said... made me cry!!! Thanks Mom, Katie, and Amy! Bella, Macy, Jenna had a lot of fun at the baby shower too!!! Our neice Macy won the pin contest! As most of you know... my mother-in-law is fantastic at making cakes... she has done everything from wedding cakes to amazing birthday cakes, and she did not fail with this one... NOT TO MENTION IT WAS DELICIOUS! Thanks Kathie! Katie just could not get enough of Bella!Gracie helped me open all of my presents... as she left the party she asked me to call her when Karly gets here! :)Two of the many cute onsies that Karly got at the shower! Thanks Grandma Kathie... I wish I could post pictures of all her clothes she got... too cute! Kathie also got us a video camera! (I cried... surprise, surprise!) THANK YOU!She even got her own "fairy tu-tu"... I guarantee she will love to play dress up in this!Tracy comparing bellies with me :) She helped so much with the shower... from making her "to die for" cranberry spinach salad that I love, to helping Katie and Amy keep everythinig "rolling", we could not have done it with out her! THANKS SO MUCH!
My Auntie Sue also helped out so much! She made her famous macaroni salad! THANK YOU TOO!

AND NOW HER ROOM...As you can see the flower arrangement my mom made and picture Katie made me are already up!Her crib is ready for her! The lamp in the corner that my mom made sets off the prettiest light... very relaxing! Tink on either side!Katie did all of the paintings in the room while Ricky did all of the airbrushing. They worked together on the name... hopefully Karly gets some of her Fathers and Aunts artistic skills!!!The changing table was a gift from Katie, David, Mom and Amy... I love it and can't wait to see her little naked butt on it :) They also got me her bassinette which is in our room, an aquarius onsie (looks like she made it Kate ;) and my mom made a beautiful blanket and beenie (all packed and ready to welcome Karly home from the hospital when she arrives!)The toy chest was a gift from my sister-in-law Kellie... she also found a matching Tinker Bell light (you can see it on her dresser above!) it sings and the fairy's dance... REALLY CUTE!Ummm... do you think my child is spoiled?!?Most of these clothes were hand-me-downs from Bella... THANKS KEL!My friend from hygiene school, Rachelle, got Karly a fairy door! It is too cute, it makes the room look like the fairies have their own fairy size door to enter in! (Rachelle just found out she is having a girl too! CONGRATULATIONS!)And here are some of the fairies! All inspired by the girls in Karly's family... this one is me :)Grandma KellyAuntie AmyAnd Aunt Kate... just to name a few! There are quite a few, you can see them flying around in all the pictures!AWWWW! CUTE!

EVERYTHING WAS SO NICE! I just want to say how thankful I am to everyone that helped out with Karly's room and shower. And for all of you who made it to the shower, and sent gifts... I wish I could picture them all, because we really have EVERYTHING we need now! I am so blessed to have each and every one of you in my life and can't wait to introduce our little girl to you real soon!

Our First Wedding Anniversary and My Sister Kate!

I know it is kind of odd to put our wedding anniversary and my sister in the same post, but this year it just worked out that way!
On January 5, 2009 Katie went in for surgery to remove a "growth" in her throat. She has had trouble breathing for a while now, and after many trips to the hospital, an inhaler, some meds, and many other trials to alleviate the problem. The doctors finally found that it was a virus that she caught a while back that had created scar tissue in her throat that slowly just kept on growing. She was breathing through a straw sized hole!!! They set up surgery A.S.A.P.

Mom and David were troopers. They were with her every step of the way and were at the hospital all day while they got Katie ready for surgery!

Amy and I showed up later, with El Burrito for all of us, and were very happy to hear shortly after we arrived, that Katie made it through surgery fine and that we could see her in a couple of hours!

Katie is a real trooper, she came out of the surgery with a pretty sore throat... but all she could ask for was a burger, fries, and a strawberry milk shake. The nurses were pretty nervous for her to try, but she ate every last bit!!! They were all amazed!

After many prayers... Katie is doing great and enjoying breathing again ;-)

I am so thankful for my sister Katie and that the Lord took care of her and healed her! I don't know where I would be without her... and I know I am not the only one who can say that! She is my best friend and sister and I love her so much!

Happy Breathing Kate!

Now... it just so happened Katie's surgery fell on the same day as mine and Ricky's first wedding anniversary! I can't believe it has already been a year! I came home from the hospital about 11:30 that night to find a dozen beautiful red roses.

Of course I cried!!! I blame it on the pregnancy hormones!!! :) Our first year wedding anniversary turned out to be perfect!

I love you babe!
