Thankful

If all goes well, tomorrow (Nov.9) will be the final surgery for Chase on his palate.  We have been waiting for this day for 3 years! It might not seem like that long to wait, but I think back to when he was born and all of the frustrations that I felt at the time. If only I could've had a glimpse into the future to see how well he has done. I am so proud of him for being so tough through everything that he has gone through. When he would spit up as a baby it would get caught up in his nose so he couldn't breathe for several seconds (which seemed like forever). He has also had the unique talent of sneezing all of his food out of his nose. He has really been tough .. Love you bubba!!!

Surgeries for Chase

Now that Chase is 3, he is ready for the next step in his palate repair. On Monday Oct. 18th, the plate that is in place over the gap in his palate will be removed. It will be open like this until Nov. 9th when the palate will be repaired permanently. If all goes well, this will be the last surgery that he will need for this! (Check out what we have been up to on the several posts that follow)

3rd Birthday!

Chase is going to be Spiderman for Halloween, so everything right now has to be Spiderman.
 Kourtney, of course, loves princesses!

Camping

For Fall Break we went camping (for one night):) in Grandpa Johnson's new trailer. We camped from the 14-15th, so we ended up celebrating part of the twins' birthday in the mountains. It took everyone awhile to fall asleep.. and then at 2:45 a.m. everyone was wide awake and 3 out of the 5 kids were crying!  It didn't last long though, everyone fell back asleep and we actually had a good laugh over it. We had so much fun!

Horseback Riding

Chance was so excited that he got to go horseback riding with dad!

He even rode the horse by himself most of the way.

Fall

We took a drive through Payson Canyon over Conference weekend to see the pretty leaves!

Girls go hunting

Katelyn and Chloe got to go deer hunting with dad. They got up and 5 in the morning and did a lot of hiking. Even though they didn't get anything they all had a good time.

Bear Lake

I didn't think I would ever do it, but I made it through my first half marathon. It was held at beautiful Bear Lake. It rained the entire time, except the few hours we were running the race. It was nice that the rain held out for us, but part of the course was on a dirt road, which was pure mud and puddles after all the rain.
Here I am about 1/4 of the way through. I am getting ready to hand my jacket off to Dustin.

Here is proof that actually made it to the finish line..

We went for a ride after the race and saw some beautiful scenery. Even though it was cold it was still breathtaking. (Kourtney and Chase were asleep in the car when we took this picture).

Graduation and retirement

Chloe graduated from Kindergarten today! Good job Chloe! They got to dress up as princesses for their program, it was a lot of fun!

Mom is retiring!!!!! This picture is at an openhouse that the school held for her. We are so proud of her for putting in all those years. It will be so fun to have her home (I hope we don't wear her out).
