Celebrating Birthdays!

Rob's birthday was on the 9th of June and mine is on the 30th. I will start out with my birthday, the day of my birthday we did not do anything, we went to my sisters to help her move. Fun right, that is okay, I did not feel like making my own cake so when my sister called to wish me a happy birthday, she asked when we were having cake and I told her I did not make one, so she volunteered to make me my Jello cake, and we would celebrate the next day. So on July 1, we went to my parents at 7:30p.m. to have cake. Since it was a beautiful day, we headed outside. My sister put 27 candles on the cake spelled out in the number 27. That is a lot of candles to light.

They were new candles so I lit the torch and proceed to light the candles, the wind was blowing a little and before I even got finished lighting all 27 candles the first ones were getting really small from the wind blowing the flames.

So, we sang really fast and I blew them all out in one blow.

The cake suffered some damage, the frosting was whip cream, and the candles kind of melted the whip cream.

But, oh well, it was still good. Thanks Trina for making my cake.
Oh, my birthday present actually came in the mail today. I had to sit here at home on my day off so I could sign for the package. It is a Sanyo video camera, Rob researched the best one and this is it. I have been wanting one for a while and I finally have one.

Now, for Roberts birthday, I decided to use a cake mold for his since it was going to share something special. This one was for the party at his parents house on the Sunday before his birthday. I bought the cake mold from Kitchen Kneads, baked a cake and then borrowed Robs mom's cake decorating bags and tips.
The cake turned out good, and the reaction we got when his mom pulled the cover off was the reaction we were hoping for. Here is what she and everyone else saw:

My mother in law just started screaming and she came and hugged me and my sister in law hugged me, it was so fun and we are so excited. We put candles on the cake and Rob blew all two of them out in one blow. HaHa!!

Yeah! We decided rather than putting a bun in the oven, we would put a cake in the oven instead, they are sweeter.
And, for my parents we made little bottle cookies with the due date on the cookie. When we told my mom to open the container, she thought something was going to jump out at her, so Jason opened it up. I was so excited and nervous to share the news, that once they opened it up I started crying. My mom came and gave me a hug and she was also crying. Everyone was excited.
We could not be more excited, we have been waiting for this for a while. The baby is due January 27, 2010. We had our first doctors visit on July 6th, we even got an ultrasound picture, because they couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler machine. So here is a cute picture of our little one. The little hand was waving at us, and the heartbeat was strong. The head is on the right and the hand/arm is sticking up in the middle. Pretty neat!

I have been feeling really good, I guess I am one of the lucky few who really does not experience any awful symptoms. I felt queasy for about a week and a half starting at week 7, and then from then on all the symptoms I have are, I am always hungry and eating, and I have to go pee a lot. So I really cannot complain. Here is a picture if anyone wants to see how I look(I always love seeing how others look when they are pregnant, so no matter how awful I look I will post updates to my growing belly), my pants are a little snug, but really cannot tell yet. I am about 10 1/2 weeks in this picture I think.

As of right now, I am 14 weeks and still feeling normal. I am getting bigger, but not super noticeable yet. Rob thinks it is so funny to see my belly getting big, he just laughs! He is super cute about everything though, he probably is more excited than I am. The summer has flown by, my summer bus run ends this Thursday, and then school starts again on August 20 (aaahhhhhhh!) that is way to soon, I have not even done very much this summer. That is only a 2 1/2 week break before school starts back up and one of those weeks is full of training meetings. Ugggh!
We are headed to visit family this weekend and go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House and then to The Old Spaghetti Factory(yeah, so excited for this). We are excited to get away for a few days, so looking forward to it. I will post all the fun we have, soon after. Good times!!

First Zucchini

I picked our very first produce from our garden, a yellow zucchini. I cooked some for lunch today and then after work, I cooked the rest and ate it up. Oh, it was heavenly. I didn't even share, Robert wouldn't have cared for it anyways, so I enjoyed it all by myself. The joys of having a garden and FRESH produce. I LOVE it!!

Happy 4th Anniversary! (late)

With the giveaway I did and everything, I was not able to post anything about our anniversary on June 28. We really did not do anything special. We are kind of simple/boring when it come to celebrating, but need to change that. Anyways, we ordered take out from El Sol, the Saturday before our Anniversary, came home and ate it. I wanted to drive down to The Old Spaghetti Factory and have dinner, but did not. Before the summer is over, we will go!
Anyways, it is crazy to think I have been married to Rob for 4 years and have known him for 6 years. Time sure flies. We have had good years and a faith building year as well, I would not want to go back, we have grown from all of the experiences we have gone through. We are still in love with each other and we have had so much fun together. Rob is always so happy and energetic, he loves to sing me made up songs from some random tune he has in his head and it just makes me laugh. Crazy Man, thanks for 6 great years together and and eternity more to come!

Fireworks

We had a good 4th of July, on the 3rd they did fireworks and we usually go down the street to a park here with my whole family and relatives and we have goodies and chat before the fireworks start. It seemed like the fireworks lasted longer this year than I remember in the past. We had a great time and then we also had a barbecue with family the next day at 6:00. We saw a lot of the family we don't see very often and had yummy food and good conversation.
They also played baseball in the front, using a plastic bat and ball. It was a lot of fun to watch. I got into it more than I thought I would.
When everyone got done with the baseball, they started some fireworks. We stayed for a little longer and then decided it was time to head home to our beds. We had a great 4th of July weekend!

And the Winner is. . . . . .

Well, I put everyone's name on a piece of paper and drew one out of a bowl.

I really just want everyone to win. I think I will be doing this more often, maybe once a month or whenever I finish something I want to give away.
Well, the winner is. . . . .

Nicole C.
Congratulations! I know where you live so I will deliver is myself.

I have drawn out a winner, but you will have to wait until I get ready. It has been a slow morning. Suspenseful, give me about an hour and I will post the winner.
