It's a good thing one year-olds are so cute.
They need to draw upon that cuteness when Mom has to get up with them in the middle of the night because they won't stop screaming and are waking up the entire house hold. They need that sweetness appeal for when they want to snuggle up to you in your bed but refuse to sleep anywhere but on top of your head.
The story:
Christopher is up with us this weekend and decided to sleep on the top bunk in Shelby's room last night (since the girls are gone).
I gave him the warning:
"You may be awakened by a baby in the middle of the night". "You sleep in there at your own risk!"
I don't think he actually believed that Shelby would scream for an hour straight. (I'm not entirely sure how long she did scream, both my door and her door were shut and so the sound was muffled and I slept through most of it.) He did croaked out a dry, "thank you" when I finally came in and got Shelby out of her crib.
From then on, I was kicked, head-butted, crowded, pushed, shoved, laid on, tugged at and generally mauled until 6 am this morning. Am I a little groggy this morning?? A little on the cranky side?? A little sleep-deprived and bruised?
Like I said before, good thing these babes are so dang cute.
