The Princess and the Bee

Dear world,

Yesterday Dad took us out for our usual walk. Right after after I finished my business, I turned around to see Rosy holding up her paw. I thought UhOh. So of course it was time for the vet. The doc said it was a bee sting and took the stinger out. Luckily she's not allergic. Since Mom & Dad know it hurts her, she has been upgraded to Super Princess.

Heli-Hiking

Dear world,
Mom and Dad told me about yet another activity that they did on their New Zealand trip. They went Heli-Hiking on the Franz Joseph glacier. (I couldn't believe Mom actually went on this one!) Again it prompted a dream...there I was hiking on a blue glacier after being dropped off by a helicopter! I woke up and I was a bit cold. I wish I was wearing my flannel pajamas!

Rolling Again

Dear world,
Yesterday we stopped by a park to play ball. I started playing and was having fun but then a familiar feeling came over me. I smelled that yum green smell and realized I haven't had a real good roll since Memphis. So down I went as I started humming some Adele ... Rolling in the deep... grass.

Sheep Herding

Dear world,
Another thing Mom and Dad told me about was how dogs are real hard workers on farms in New Zealand. Mom showed me pics and a video of Bell and Rip herding sheep. She told me how Rip was the herder so his job was to run after them to round them up. Bell was the Huntaway and it was her job to bark at them. Well again these stories prompted a dream. This time I was a working dog on the farm helping herd the sheep. Boy, that was hard work! I was exhausted when I woke up! Don't think I would make it as a farm dog.

Blanket Bay

Dear world,

Mom and Dad said one of their favorite and most beautiful places in New Zealand was Blanket Bay in Glenorchy. A dog named Benji gets to live there cause he is the owners' dog. I would say he is pretty lucky. He hangs out wherever his people go...in the office, outside the lodge or at their home. When I saw Mom and Dad's pics it got me to thinking... I wonder if Benji gets to go in the spa?

Kylie

Dear world,
Yesterday at the beach I met beautiful Kylie. We have a lot in common. She is a Golden who loves her Mom, tennis balls, the beach and swimming. So we played and played. Of course there is no romance between us. My heart is still waiting for Lu. Besides, Kylie is only 3 years old, and I am not interested in a trophy wife.

Quad Biking

Dear world,
Another activity Mom and Dad did in New Zealand was Quad Biking. They said they had a blast. Again it prompted my dream last night...there I was zooming around on a Quad Bike . But just like in real life, I had to stop so Mom could take a picture!

Oscar

Dear world,
I don't think I ever introduced you to my neighbor parrot friend Oscar. He always says hello when people and pups walk by. He is usually in his outside cage or inside when it is cold. But yesterday he was just hanging out, so I didn't have to bark loud to say hello. Rosy doesn't say hello to Oscar cause she thinks he is rude. He whistles when she walks by.

Kiwi Tracking

Dear world,
Mom and Dad told me about one of their favorite experiences in New Zealand. They went on a Kiwi Discovery walk in Cape Kidnappers! That prompted my dream last night about going out with the scientist to find a Kiwi. I walked into the forest holding the antenna and radio monitor. The radio started beeping louder. My guide reached into a deep burrow and pulled out a baby kiwi! The guide weighed and examined her. And then I got to hold the kiwi! I had to hold her by the feet so she wouldn't run away (kiwis don't fly). That was one of the most exciting dreams of my life!

Haircuts

Dear world,
Mom and Dad told me all about the sheep shearing demonstration they had while on a farm in New Zealand. They showed me a video of the farmer giving a haircut to a little sheep. It took under 2 minutes. That got me to thinking, why does Rosy, who is much smaller than a sheep, take close to an hour to get her haircut?

Ziplining

Dear world,

Dad told me all about his ziplining adventure in New Zealand. I thought it sounded so cool. Which must have been what prompted my dream last night. Dad took me me ziplining. Mom didnt want to go, but Rosy and Bunnybell came too! It was just awesome. Too bad it was just a dream.

Sydne's Birthday

Dear world,

Today is my human sis Sydne's birthday . With her being all about fashion, I knew I was taking a risk in buying her clothes for a present. But I thought maybe I too have an eyeball for fashion. So I picked out a shirt and sent it to her. And to my surprise, I saw that she featured it on her blog last week! (However, there was no mention in the post of Bear, the aspiring stylist. But since it is her birthday, I wont bring it up to her.)

Happy Birthday Sydne!

Love always,

Bear
