SNOW DAY!!

So, finally in my last semester, I have a snow day, i.e. no school due to hazardous winter weather. Yes, it's just so unimaginable to have it in Singapore.

I was out for classes and career fair yesterday. And it literally rained ICE instead of snow. It hurts when oallets of ice hit your face as you walk. It was a mix of ice, snow and water, which was pretty insane- just think what happens when the water freezes on the ground. You'll have ice skating roads! ;)

Anyway, it was really entertaining to have your facebook on at night as every student is talking about a snow day. Most schools have closed, and our irritating school is still pretty much open. No doubt, I am actually amazed by all their pre-emptive measures and efficiency in clearing the roads. But I guess it can be rather irritating too as that would mean we don't get snow days. The decision has to be made at 10pm, and finally, at 9.54pm, the school declares a snow day for the next day. And oh boy, I felt like I was back in Jordan watching World Cup. People were sreaming, shouting, honking (if they were driving).... Oh wells, aptly put by a friend, "School is one thing we pay for that we DON'T want to have". =)
