We Had A Baby! Cruise David Louthan

He was born on Friday the 13th of May, 2011 at 4:01am weighing 7 lbs 15 oz and 18.5in long. He is already the sweetest baby and such a good baby. He communicates pretty well with us and is a happy baby when his diaper is clean and his burps and gas are out! =)

Cruise got names right before we left the hospital. He's 5 weeks old now and just started smiling and holding up his head a ton! It's beautiful to watch him develop and to see that he recognizes who mommy and daddy are.

Racking Leaves

We racked leaves for his mom for what she considered her Christmas gift. We tried to do a look alike picture of the pitch fork husband and wife portrait. How did we do?? :)

Thanksgiving Fun

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We enjoyed the holiday in Moab with Dave's family. We ate a lot of food, went on a cool hike to actual Indian ruins and petroglyphs, watched a lot of t.v. and movies, played games, and decorated sugar cookies! What a blast it was being with his family, even though I missed out on the Dye family black Friday shop till you drop tradition. Our hike was rather exhausting though, so I think it measures up and saved us a lot of money too!

New Hair Cut, Life Update

It's not the New Year yet, but that's not stopping Dave and I from making new goals all the time. Right now we've challenged each other to read the entire Book of Mormon before the end of 2009 and have invited friends and family to join us. It's about 5 chapters a day. We're also focusing on saving money so we can save up for a little one come here quickly and so Dave can go to China. NO, i'm not pregnant, but we are considering trying here shortly (maybe!) I get nervous is all. Dave is really passionate and wants to go to China in May badly, for some odd reason... I don't get it, but I'll still support him anyway I can.

We've become the Cub Scout Webelos Leaders for church and staying very actively involved. It's a lot of time actually- 2 hours each week and we do it Thursday nights. The boys are actually pretty cool and it feels wierd, but good to work with boys- the first time I've EVER worked with boys. I got a new haircut. I had my hair dyed brown, with some dramatic blonde streakes still in it and chopped off 3 inches and cut bangs! Weird and crazy. Dave is still adjusting to it... he told me once to take off the wig so he could find his wife. lol.

Gym/work is good. Our team is just getting ready for season like always. We've got a lot of talent on the team and the freshman are actually contributing which is rare and always nice. We'll see how things turn out. I'm going to take a few classes next semester for fun... a web designing class and a choreography teaching class... just to keep up with the new dancing styles/trends of the times. I've been listening to Christmas music since like Oct. 15 constantly, so for me, it feels like Christmas should be next week, or at least I want it to be! lol.

That's all for now! :0)

First Timers to Blogging and Canning

Dave and I have been married for a little over three months now.  We've decided to enter the realm of the blogging world to better record our lives and create a sense of family history.  This will also help our family know what's going on in our lives, since we live by no one! :0)

We canned apples from our tree.  It was really easy with Dave's help.  The second time I tried doing it myself.  Three hours later the task was complete, and I was exhausted.  Lesson learned: Canning can be easy and fun when you have a helper by your side!
