Faux Hawk

This weekend Aaron took Josh to go get his haircut...I told him that it would be cool for him to get a faux hawk although I didn't think Aaron would really do it. So I was thinking that Aaron would bring back my little Josh with his hair all tidied up...well this is what came in the door. Josh was sooo excited and thought he was soooo handsome. (In fact while at Wal-Mart he told me that some girl was staring at him because his hair was so handsome.) He was only disappointed that the top of the faux hawk is not purple. So maybe for halloween batman can have a purple faux hawk under his mask!

Groundhog day in September

Aaron was mowing the lawn last weekend when he noticed a pile of dirt on our little firepit (it's covered and under our deck). So he moved it and found a little hole. Later that day we saw a groundhog peeking his head out. So here are some pictures of our neighbor...don't worry no animals were harmed. A fix-it guy took him about 30 miles away to release in the woods! By the way Josh really wanted to keep him as a pet...he was so cute he said. Yikes!

Halloween pajama time!

The moon is up it's getting late, let's get ready to celebrate...it's Halloween pajama time! We ordered the pj's online and finally received them in the mail. As soon as I showed Josh and Kylie they had to put them on and then go into the dark bathroom and check to see if they really glowed in the dark. Then they wouldn't take them off and slept in them that night. It was really funny to check on them before I went to bed and to see two little skeletons glowing in the dark...creepy really. Well, we are getting ready for Halloween and with all the excitement from Josh you would think it was tomorrow.

Josh's first day of pre-k

I can not believe how fast Josh is growing up. He is now going to school 4 days a week in the afternoons. He loves it! I took some pictures of his first day...he was kind of nervous.

The last day in Omaha...so much fun!

On our last day we went to the famous Henry Doorly Zoo. We have heard from everyone how great it is...and they were right. The exhibits were amazing. Animals seemed to be in their own natural environment and most didn't even look to be on display. We stayed from 10 am till 4 pm and we were not able to see everything...and we even took the train to view the large areas.

Omaha -- day 2 of the excitement

On Sunday we went to the Wilderness Safari. It was so cool. We were able to sit in the car and drive for 4 miles and see animals really close, as you can see in the pictures. Josh was very laid back about the whole thing but Kylie was really into it. Her favorite word was "Wook" for look. Afterwards we went to the Mormon Trail Center (aka. Winter Quarters). My great x's 3 grandpa was who the statue was made to look like...so does Josh look like him...if you can see him that is. Then we went back to the hotel and while we were waiting for the cookies to come out...yes our hotel had cookies (they were even warm from the oven) and milk every night we took pictures of the kids in the courtyard...of course Josh hid from every shot so you get to see only Kylie this time.

Our first day of Omaha!!!

We really were bored in Emporia so we went to Omaha..makes sense right...but Omaha surprisingly had a lot to do... We also met Grandma and Grandpa there for the whole weekend. The first day we went to the Children's Museum where they had an Art Car and dinosaur exhibit. Josh's favorite part was making his own art car. Later we walked down a park in downtown...we had a lot of fun going down the slide, as you can see below.
