July 30, 2008 -- Dorks and babysitters (with a little gymnastics mixed in)...maybe they go together!

Today our babysitters came over for a pizza party (with some other girls from church) and after everyone left they all decided to be dorks. So below are the pictures of my most beloved dorks!

Codi started the party off with this picture!

Finally Kylie had to join in too!

I finally then took pictures of Josh's gymnastic class. He has really improved over the past 6 months.

July 22, 2008 -- We were really bored today...

We came home from Kansas City today and we were bored...so we decided to give each other tattoos. Josh had a lot of fun getting Batman drawn all over him. Kylie loved drawing all over mommy...and mommy had fun letting go of clean and getting dirty. At the end of the day, Josh loved watching the washable marker wash down the drain in the shower...and though he was sad to see it go it was more fun to see which color came off the fastest.

Photobucket
Josh really wanted to be like daddy!

It's a good thing you really can't get tattooed at age 4...or else this is what he would have all grown up

July 18th-- Another trip to the ER....

Emporia, Kansas seems to be bringing out the best in our family health wise. Kylie went to the ER on early Friday morning on July 18th. She kept waking up all night with a very painful cry. Even with Motrin and her milk nothing seemed to comfort her. I decided I couldn't wait 5 hours for the regular Dr's office to open so I took her in with Josh in tow. It turns out she had a urinary tract infection and an ear infection... so more antibiotics. Her asthma seems to be doing better this time around and so far has only needed one breathing treatment which finally came last night. YEAH!!!! So below are pictures of her later that night after going to the ER. She was coughing a lot and needed her inhaler so when I got her out of bed she looked like this. She really takes after her Mimi in terms of bed head.

July 11th -- Mimi's waterpark

The kids had a lot of fun at Mimi's waterpark on Friday. Josh and Meagan loved bonding over the slide and loved taking turns going up and down the slide. Never once did one butt in line or climb back up the slide and they never, ever sat at the top of the slide not allowing the other to go down. YEAH RIGHT...they are kids and more like brother and sister than aunt and nephew. They really did have tons of fun though. You can see how much they love each other by the pictures below...wish we lived closer.

Don't they look like they could be on a cover a magazine?

July 10th -- Hands On Museum

We loved going to the Ann Arbor Hands On Museum with Mimi and Meagan. We met them for lunch at Olga's and everyone had their favorite broccoli soup (except Aaron) and then off to the museum. The kids had fun bouncing, blowing bubbles, building and playing with each other. I'm not so sure that Josh and Kylie understood all the educational tools but had fun playing with them. Later that night we had a campout. We roasted marshmallows in Mimi's park and had smores. I did learn that Meagan and Josh love to burn their marshmallows to a crisp. The crunchier the better. We also let Josh and Meagan sleep in a tent in a spare bedroom...although it didn't last very long....long story.

July 9th -- Toledo Zoo Fun

We had so much fun at the Toledo Zoo. We actually left Grandma and Grandpa's house by 9:30 am which is a miracle. We stayed the whole day, which means not leaving until 4 pm. Everyone was very tired of walking and Josh even required a shoulder ride by Grandpa to the car. Kylie really loved the animals and we couldn't keep her in her stroller much. Josh's favorite part was the train ride...he was more interested in how the train moved than the animals that the train circled.
Grandma, Josh and Kylie finished the day by swimming in the hot tub nude. All but Grandma that is. FYI...the hot tub bleaches my kids swimsuits for some reason...so they swim nude or in swim diapers.

We had a very fun day!

July 7th -- A lazy day

We had a very lazy day. Aaron and I had to be woken up at 10 am. Thank you Mimi for letting us sleep in! We played for a while at Mimi's and then went to Grandma and Grandpa's and played in the backyard. We played on the slip and slide (even Mommy and Grandma slipped and slid right off the slide) and played in the baby pool. It was a great day to play in the pool and get some sun. Oh, while in Michigan Josh has perfected his stink eye...this is when he is mad and wants to give me the evil eye...so Mimi started calling it stink eye and telling him his eye stunk really bad...it helped make him smile.

July 6th --Fireworks Mania

On Sunday night after tons of fun (shopping and swimming) in Shipshewana we decided to do fireworks. Josh was loving everything. Meagan--the louder the better. I personally love the sparklers! Here are a few pics from the festivities!

July 4th --Party time with both sides of the family

The first part of the day was spent at Brian and Casey's reception. We hung out at Casey's mom's house at a luau which was really fun with really good food. Josh even got to go for an unplanned swim which he thought was pretty cool since he had been eyeing the pool all day! I secretly think he planned it that way since he was really hot. After the reception and a lot of pictures we drove to Shipshewana, IN to the Amish and met my parents. We had a really fast Amish dinner and went to fireworks...which were really fun to watch.
