See No Evil Altered Playing Card

Hi, Nikki here sharing an altered playing card I made featuring the 'see no evil' monkey from the three monkeys stamp. I am actually slowly working my way through a whole pack of cards.
My background was made first gessoing the playing card and then by drawing some chevrons in pen and then using Arlene's tacky glue I drew inside the lines. When it was all dry (about 2 days later ! LOL), I painted it with green and brown acrylics, then peeled off some of the glue chevrons to reveal the playing card beneath. I used some film strip transparency and fourth dimension background stamp for the ground. The words were typed and printed on my printer. Don't we all wish we could un-see some things ?

Here is a close up of my monkey. He is stamped on white card stock in black versamark, embossed in clear powder and colored with inktense pencils.  I fussy cut him and glued him over my background.
All three monkeys on this stamp are adorable, maybe I will do something else soon with 'speak no evil' and 'hear no evil'. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you were inspired to create :) Nikki x

Altered Playing Cards

I am taking part in a weekly Altered Playing Card (APC) challenge. Here are a couple of APC's using the gorgeously diverse stamps by Lost Coast Designs :

For this APC the topic was bees. The perfect bee was to be found amongst the gorgeous winged animals, More Bugz, look how realistic it is :
Here is my completed APC, I have used a honey comb stencil, die, embossing powers and inks.
The wording is significant on this APC "Long live the Queen", this is not necessarily because I am a Royalist, but because the bee is such an important part of life and existence, lets have thriving colonies.

The second APC uses one of the awesome girls from The Doodle Dolls 1 Set :
I lightly gesso'd this playing card so that some of it would show through in the background, love that effect. The background is done with crackle paste and a stencil and dylusions sprays. The image is colored with copics and white and black gel pen.

Here is a close up of her, I think she is pretty special. You can also see the background more clearly :
Just over half way through the APC challenge, its fun to alter a pack of 52 playing cards and I am most impressed with myself for keeping up ! LOL
Thanks for stopping by x
