Happy Panseys

January 18, 2012

Eventhough it is still January.
It seems like spring.
I noticed some cute little panseys today.
Their happy faces seemed to say
Spring is on its Way.

Smile.

Mom' Enthusiasm

January 17, 2012

Today I spent taking my Mom to a doctor appointment.
I have learned a lot from my Mom throughout my life,
but one of her traits sticks out in my mind today.
It is enthusiasm.
She spent last year making quilts
for all her children
and grandchildren.
She has always been a great seamstress,
but for a few years
had gotten out of practice.
She jumped in a did this project with gusto.
She is always so excited about her projects.
Each time I bring her fabric,
She glows with excitement.
She immediately starts on the project
and is so proud when a project is done.

Memories

January 15, 2012
One of my goals for this year
is to organize and put into albums
the many photos I have in boxes.
Today I took some time to look at a
few of the pictures.
I can't wait to look at more.
It is amazing how quickly
the kids grow up.
It is so much fun looking at the pictures
and remembering all the fun times we have enjoyed.

Strong and Healthy!

January 13, 2012
I am grateful for Health and Strength!
This blessing allows me the opportunity to work and play.
Today I was able to prepare meals, clean my home,
run errands and play tennis.
I was able to work and play with comfort and ease.
I am grateful for the gift of health
and commit to taking better care of my body.
I am going to strive to eat healthier meals
and exercise more frequently.

I Love to See the Temple!

January 12, 2012
Just after 7 this morning,
I headed to the Jordan River Temple.
Through the darkness, the lighted temple glowed in the distance.
It looked like a beautiful beacon.
Welcoming me.
Inviting me to come.
What a blessing to live just minutes from the Temple.
What a blessing to have the opportunity to go often.

Snow! Snow! Snow!

January 6, 2012
After wondering if winter was going to pass us by,
Today I woke up to see a blanket of snow covering my yard.
It was beautiful.
Everything looked clean and refreshed.
I love to see the tree branches grosted with snow.
Even the driveway was covered, without any tracks.
The world looked peaceful.

Seeing Jesus!

January 5, 2012
Today Kristi and Leah went shopping at Costco.
When it was time to check out, Leah noticed the cashier.
(His hair was long and wavy)
She was extremely exicted as she said,
"Mommy, Jesus. See Jesus!"
It made me wonder.
Would I notice Jesus,
In my everyday routine?
Thank you, Leah,
for reminding me that He is here.
That everything I have
is His gift to me.

My Plate is Full!

January 4, 2012
Reorganizing my food storage room
is one of my January goals.
As I spent some time on this project today.
I was overwhelmed with gratitude
for the blessing of always having plenty.
I have never experienced hunger or want.
My family has always had plenty, and some to spare.
Our plates have always been full.

Goodbye to the Holidays!

January 3, 2010
It is hard to believe that the holiday's are over.
Cal and CJ are at work.
Danielle is back at school.
Tiffani is sleeping in.
The house is too quiet.
I miss the sound of Cal and the kids.
I enjoy having my family home around me.

Happy Birthday CJ!
Twenty two years ago,
I gave birth to my one and only son.
I can honestly say:
He is my FAVORITE Son!
It was a great day!
The past 22 years, I have been priviledged to watch him grow up
into a fine young man.

I just want to list a few of the things I love about CJ!
I love his smile.
He has a beautiful and a contagious smile.

I love his helpful ways.
He always picks up after himself.
He always asks if there is anything he can do.

He is initiates acts of service for our family.
He fills the cars with gas.
Fixes things he sees broken.

He is independant.
He likes to do things himself.
He values a job well done.

He is a neat freak.
I love watching him clean his room,
eventhough it is never messy.
He is great at getting rid of anything he no longer needs.

He loves Heavenly Father.
I admire his exact obedience as he served as a faithful missionary.
I enjoy watching as he applies the principles he learned
on his mission to his life now.

CJ loves to have fun.
He enjoys being with friends and just hanging out.

He loves to Play!

January 1, 2012

After skies filled with inversion,
January 1st started with a
beautiful blue sky.
What a great reminder of the
beauties of this world.

Happy New Year!

I live a very full and blessed life.

I live a life surrounded by wonderful people.
I have a life filled with a wonderful family, friends, and faith.
But what makes up this great life?

It is the combination of all the small things and moments in my life
that combine to make it what it is,
A Great Life.

This year my quest is to live in the moment.
To slow down and enjoy each moment.
To notice the small and simple blessings that are around me.
To "Stop and Smell the Flowers."

I want to focus on
the "Small and Simple things"
that make life GREAT!
