Ellie's two year check-up!!!

We had our trip to the doctor yesterday for the big #2. She did really well. We spent most of the time trying to keep her away from the otoscope. She wanted someone to look in her ears. Developmentally she is right on track. We are a little behind in the speech category but she wants to give her 4 more months to see if she catches up now that she's in school.
Her stats

Height 33 inches. 48%
Weight. 25.8 lbs. 33%
head 44 cm. 78%

She's a little bitty thing with a big head. Lots of brain in there.

Now on to something sad...our home computer got a virus the other day that wiped our commuter. There is nothing left. It even managed to get into the external hard drive where all our pics are from the last 10 years. All of it gone. Hopefully, we can recover the photos. I don't really care about anything else. We have someone great working on it so hopefully there will be good news but only time will tell. It's the one time in I'm glad I have technology on my side. Between Facebook, the blog, and cellphones... I think we have quit a bit of the girls lives in pics even though we may lose some of it. And we have learned a valuable lesson. BACK UP!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLIE

Ellie turned two this past weekend, and had a ball celebrating with all her family and friends.
She is talking more and more everyday so before long I'll have two munchkins that never stop talking. Wonder where they get that from?
She is still on track to be the class clown, which I'm sure will get her in trouble some day but for now it's cute. She always wants to see you laughing at what she does. Her teachers say she is so sweet, smart, and helpful in school and hasn't hit, bitten or pulled anyone's hair. Guess she just saves it all for Addison. She will definitely be keeping us on our toes!!!
Tomorrow we go for her two year check up. I'll post her stats then.

Happy Birthday sweet girl!!!

Washington County Fair

The fair is something special. It gave me so many special memories growing up and I want my girls to experience all the fun each year even though we don't live there.
After last year Addison would ask to go back almost daily for months not understanding that it was a yearly event. As it grew closer and I would tell her it was coming up, she would start asking to rides the rides, see the animals and so on. She remembered so many things. It made me so excited to take them.
The fair lived up to our expectations this year. Ellie enjoyed riding all the rides this year for the first time and Addison had a ball riding with her friends and family.
And let's not forget about the food and animals. We strolled through the cows, lambs, pigs and petting zoo. we drank sweet tea and ate funnel cake.
I could go on an on about the memories we made this year. Here are the pics and we will see you again next year Washington County Fair!!!!

Ellie's first day of MDO

Ellie started MDO on September 7th and has been loving every minute of it. Her teacher is just wonderful with her... Mrs. Debbie. Ellie already days her name and wants to look at their picture all the time.
She is thriving in her class and using her words a lot more instead of noises and gestures. She seems to be getting along with all the other kiddos which is a huge relief for me. I didn't want to be the one getting the reports of her biting other kids.
She is having a lot if trouble napping in a group with the lights on and noise all around. I'm sure she will adjust and be sleeping in no time but only time will tell.

Happy birthday daddy.

Today is our loves birthday. He spoils us rotten and takes such good care of us. We love to play with him and steal all his hugs and kisses. And the best part is we get to eat cupcakes on his special day. We love you daddy and all you do to take care of us.

First day of pre-K.

She wouldn't take a picture with her teacher this morning, maybe another day :( She was so excited about being there with all her friends from last year but a little nervous for us to leave her.
Mommy was a little sweaty and sad that my baby is getting so big but as she said last night. " I can't stop growing up, mommy". Spoken like a true big girl.

Kiddos

Lately things have been trucking along. Nothing really exciting happening around our house except the pacifier has been taken away from miss Ellie bear. She's doing pretty well with it so far but definitely prefers to have it in her mouth when she's falling asleep. It has made for a couple interesting nights around our house. Nothing terrible, just a little stressful for mommy.
I pray she moves past this in the next couple days.

Addison starts pre-K tomorrow. She is more than excited to see all of her friends again and she told us she's gonna stay all day until dark. Not actually the case but she will eat lunch there this year and nap at school. She's not excited about that.

Cheers to a new school year and all that will be learned by our precious children!!!

Sneaky look.

Addison on her first date away from home with len and Dana. Saw smurfs 3d. She loved it and all the attention. Thanks len and Dana.

Biting 101

We have had a problem in our house for a while but I thought we were done with it...I was wrong. It has returned, and in full force.

We have tried just about everything you can imagine to end this terrible habit but little has worked. I'm at a loss and little mama starts mothers day out in a month. I'm scared of what's to come for the other little cuties in her class when she doesn't get her way. Watch out!!

Her handy work this morning. Suggestions welcome to ending this problem????

All About Ellie...22 months

Our little Ellie bear is just 2 short months away from being 2 years old.
She is such a little prankster and has brought so much joy and happiness into our lives in just 22 short months. She is an angel in every sense of the word and then promptly shifts gears to turning on the mean...not in a bad way, but she loves to tease her sister. She likes to get a laugh out of us all the time. It's just so cute how she gets your attention and then turns on the charm to get a laugh.

She is talking more and more everyday but she still knows how to get what she wants even though she doesn't have the word for it. She has developed her own language that we have had to figure out but it works.

She comes off shy when people come around but after a few minutes, she turns it on for everyone around her trying to be the center of attention.

She is growing quickly and seems to be catching up to where Addison was at this time. We will see in a couple months when we have her 2 year check up. She weighs about 25lbs and is in a 2t. Her hair is really getting curly in the back, little ringlets and all...guess they will both be curly Q's.

She is determined to keep up with all the older kiddos and there isn't much she can't do anymore. Our baby is not a baby anymore.   She will start mothers day out in September and I think she is so ready for school...we could barely get her out of Addison's Preschool class last year...hopefully, she will have a blast.

Here are some pics of her recently, enjoy!!

First Dance Recital

I think this was something none of us were ready for.  Being all of three years old, our little one wanted to dance.  I thought it would be great to get her involved in something young but this was far more than I anticipated.  Most of the year was easy...forty five minutes of fun for all to enjoy...but rehearsals were serious.  No parents were allowed to stay, drop off and pick up by walkie talkie standing in long lines...seriously...she's 4!  I can understand for older children but the little ones probably could have stood to have there own little show.  She really wants to do it next year so we will have round 2 to discuss next year.

I, am a dancer's mom...something I thought I would never say, but after last night, actually getting to watch her dance...I was just beaming with excitement and so proud of her accomplishment.  She could not have been more excited about being out on that stage and did I mention how much she loved the attention.  Her performance lasted about one and a half minutes on stage  and they were worth the sitting there for almost three hours watching and waiting for this little show....enjoy!!!

IT WON"T LET ME DOWNLOAD THE VIDEO>>>

Addison is 4

This was the first party adventure away from our backyard...and boy did it live up to our expectations. I don't know why we ever slaved away organizing and buying and cleaning and the list goes on to have party's at the house. This was by far the most fun I have had at any of her birthday parties...not in a bad way. Just finally got to relax and talk with everyone and not stress about whether or not there were enough chips out...

I think Addison thought this was her best party ever. The bouncin bears is just down the street from our house and such a great place to have a party.

I tried to get a shot of all the kiddos that were there, don't think I was successful, they wouldn't stay still long enough to capture a photo. Here are some of the fun happenings...

On another note, we had her four year check up and all is well...

wt 37 lbs 60%tile
ht 42 3/4th inches...95%tile

still hanging on to tall and skinny...

Hair

So life is about picking battles with your kids, right? Well, this is one that just isn't worth having in our house. Addison's hair. It is beautiful, curly, long, and crazy.
I bring this up because my mom asked me today if I ever brush her hair. The answer is yes...everyday...but she doesn't allow us to "fix" it. She wants it down and in her face...I have no idea why but she is in this phase and who am I to tell her she can't wear it down. She is definately her own little person with her views on what she is supposed to look like.
Until she is out of this phase, her hair will appear "unfixed" in most of her photos. I think she is beautiful either way as does my mom, but it was info worth sharing as I thought about it today...

Easter

Yesterday, we celebrated Easter at our house because I had to work...boo but the whole fam on both sides came over to egg hung and have burgers. Jesus is the reason for this season, too. He died for us to save us from our sins and it is so wonderful that we can all get together to celebrate. Our King has Risen!!!  Here are some pics from the afternoon.
