It used to be the case where I would browse through the blogs of my friends once or twice a week to keep up with their lives, to know what's going on around me, and to feel that I am still a part of their live in a world where I feel that I am beginningto feel controlled by my employer. (You know who). I am sure its not the intention of the boss to have you work 24 hours a day every week for the year. But you know the implications when results are not delivered.

But anyway, I used to browse through blogs occasionally. But I've taken a keener interest in some, knowing that I need to know that some of you are fine. I want to help, but I feel helpless as it seemed to me that no words could bandage the gaping wound. You've been a great friend to many, and it would not be fair (to you) if the "universal best friend" tag on you were to be taken away just because you suffered an injustice.

Let your friends cocoon you in for time to heal your wound.

Happy Birthday Hui Min!

(photos will be up when Hui Min blogs about this)

- Sorry I didn't have the luxury of time to make something really personal for you as I did in previous years, but I hope my gift would be something that you can use and will like for the couple of years (or more) to come!

- I hope you enjoyed your birthday dear!

~~~
- I'm like back from an overseas exercise, and I'm now participating in the largest SAF command-level exercise. Am really, really tired... zzz... gonna need a long break (hopefully) after this.
~~~

- Imperial College Asia Convocation is open to all students who graduated recently, so I have my chance to belatedly don my graduation gown at the NUS Cultural Center on the 30th Nov 07!

The first day when we arrived. This is Port Augusta, about midway to Woomera (the word means "stuck in the middle of nowhere"). Here's a writeup about the town.

Day 3 of setup.

The terror of the exercise. The NSmen with cartons and cartons of beer...

How our admin area looks like at field. Sandy lunch out in the fields was pathetic, and everyday, we would just look forward to eating as much as we can during breakfast and hoping that it would tide us through the day =P

The 160 Sqn alumni visit to Woomera. This was breakfast with them after day 3 of the firing.

My Gun 1 detachment.

All my A2 guys minus Jie Ren =P
