KIII Work Up Training

I'm currently a little baked from the long hours spent in the sun training over the last weekend. Yes, weekend. My non-existent weekend demise did not exactly end with the conclusion of NDP, but I'll probably have to wait till the end of the live firing.

I digress.

I will be overseas for my live firing exercise from September till October, and the last weekend was spent "working up" towards the real exercise. We deployed, simulated and enjoyed the scorching sun.

This is a test mail using mail to blogger service. If this works then I shall be able to blog more often about mundane things that happen!

Well, this photo is a little outdated, take near 2 weeks back.. By now my car should have hit my first 10,000km mark..

Went to attend the Singapore Fireworks Festival with Hui Min this evening. Although the walk in (and out later) was pretty disastrous, the evening was all in all, pleasant. The display by Spain was fantastic, and its nice to be on the spectator stands (sitting alongside Comd ADOC) at the sitting gallery for once~

Note: I did not take this photo =P

Nothing much to be said about this picture. I was just bored some time back, and played DOTA against a couple of bots. This is however, the most gay clinkz I've ever built.

People have been asking me, what's my role in NDP 07? My reply - Special Functions - is never sufficient to cater to their curiosity.

The Aide-de-Camps to the President, the President/PM escort entourage, the Presidential Lance Guards, Provosts-in-Attendance are of my charge. So is the accurate arrival of the Members of Parliament, the Cabinet, the Prime Minister and the President. And the inspection of the parade on the new ceremonial vehicle.

It wasn't easy, but at the end of it, it was pretty much worth the year long effort. Loads of meetings and coords, loads of aggrevation over logistics requirements, and lots of negotiation, trying to make people happy. But I'm glad that I've learnt lots in the past year, and strengthen bonds with old friends. Thanks for making my NDP 07 journey a memorable one. And to my three trusty assistants, Ben, Ben and Zhi Ren, you've been absolutely amazing and indispensible :) Thank you so much!
