Moving on

Commemoration day passed, with many of my khakis returning to end their journey with Imperial, and in a way, with me in London. It'll be another year before I'll get to see all of them, albeit in the working world then.

Kwaneng: the big brother "Ah Beng" of EEE. One of the closest brother around, always willing to help. Can remember last year when I was trying to move tens of boxes around, he was begging me to take a taxi to the extent that he even volunteered to pay for my fare. Too bad he's only here for a couple of years. I would have loved to spend more of my IC time with him =) EH I NEVER TRAVELLED WITH YOU BEFORE!

Doris.. the butt of all our committee jokes, with her all-time favourite theorem of the cycling route which goes downhill all the way. Currently doing masters somewhere in US - and the university sounds like what Anakin Skywalker change into.. Darth Vader or Darth Morth or something like that...

Alvin and Eiksheng. The 2 geniouses of eee who seem like they dun have to study to earn their grades. Alvin started work with LTA already, while Eik Sheng is doing his Masters of Philosophy in Finance at Cambridge. Joseph is still stuck in EEE mugging for 9 papers this year.

Kenneth! Psuedo housemate. Always the gentlemen. Always keen on playing badminton with me (to trounce me). Always around for me when I needed him. Always a good friend of mine. Studying in Stanford now. Going to be the CEO of some big company someday. Going to be my boss once I retire from the Armed Services *grin*

And finally, MOSA galore! Miss Fuan Hai Jade! Mrs Lim to be. A-British-born-malaysian-but-Singaporean-to-be-once-married-to-Zhicheng. Always the keen one to help out, even if it was to substitude Doris as the butt of the committee jokes. And you thought Zhicheng would rescue her when he is around haha.. Get married to him soon and migrate to Singapore leh... our committee meetups after we start working will not be the same without you..

Of course there were others there yesterday.. Trysha, Velma, Tim, Yaoyang, loads.. people who have entered my life and are threatening to leave it for good unless we do something about it. Hui Min is right.. I have to be really proactive and catch hold of these people and make sure that we keep in contact. I have been moving on in my life so fast that I have not been keeping contact with friends of hold. When I am in JC, i stick with my JC friends. Once I leave JC, its my army friends. After that its my Huang Cheng juniors. Then come Imperial. I tried to hold on to some of them, and thankfully I did. Gerald, Meiting, Peiwen etc..

And now, I am sitting in front of my computer with my Singsoc exco photograh and my HC Night committee photograph in front of me. Velma, Peida, Eiksheng, Jonathan, Haijade, Qiqi, Doris, Ken, Enxin, Eewen, Valerie, Marvin, my closer friends in these committes that have changed my life. I have Peida's 快乐符 dangling from my lamp, the HC Night wand dangling by my side lamp and lots of fond memories of these 4 years stored at the back of my head, I am determined not to lose this bunch of friends. I miss you guys..

I am lucky. To have Hui Min, to have you guys, and all the new friends that I've found in London. Stay as my friend for life please.

I dunno why I am writing all these. Commemoration day blues perhaps...

Surprise!

Haha! Surprise!!

Ok maybe part I wasn't that much a surprise, given that there were so many give aways along the way.. Marvin miss called me, then called Edwin, then I have to do some sms-ing along the way, and that smart little girl have to notice that I keep forgetting my keys (they were with Marvin and Kai). But ya, she kinda caught hints that something was going on. But anyway, special thanks to Eewen for her welcoming Hello!; Enxin for carrying the cake for so long; Marvin and Kaileng for enjoying the view and the cool temperature while waiting for us to enter the room; Yangwen for taking photos; my housemates for the house and the diversion in the form of the dinner at Wagamama; and all be being there. Thanks!

But anyway, we left house at around 2230H. Quite on schedule, but the bus ride back was way too fast! We arrived back at her place around 2340, which was a little ahead of schedule. She's not suspecting anything yet at this stage, which is good *grin* We entered the house, and it was dark. We entered her room, and I was like half expecting someone to pop up and spring the surprise. SURPRISE! No one was in there.. I went upstairs to check and Larissa and Ivana weren't there too!

Anyway at this point of time both of them came home.. They chatted with Hui Min for a while and then she went upstairs to shower. That's when EVERYONE came in. Apparently we were a little too early and they were a little too late haha... ended up everyone was waiting outside the house for the opportunity to enter.

When Hui Min was done with her shower, I think she was more shocked then surprised when she heard musculine voices from inside her room! Anyway that's when Lawrance popped up and initiated the surprise on her.

Yah all in all round 2 was slightly more successful that the first, cos she really wasn't expecting anything already heh, especially since she came home to find the house empty =P. Thank you Larissa and Ivana! Well coordinated efforts heh, and thanks to all the guests who came by.

Now a little update on my life. As you can see... nearly a quarter of my evenings since coming back to London were spent playing Mahjong and getting fitter. That's because we started playing with push-ups as the stake. Talk about brain and brawn development. Perfectly healthy. But perhaps sometimes the game is not very suitable for the weak hearted. Take Mr X** for example heh.

The above is called 十八罗汉, meaning that I have 4 pairs of 4, and thats really rare. If I succeed at winning that sequence, each of my 3 Mahjong khakis will owe me 2^8 pushups instantly. Mr X nearly had a heart attack (in his words).. and of course not to mention the chest rubbing antics he adopt after doing pushups.

** I am not a liberty to disclose the identity of Mr X here, but of course, if you think hard enough, you can guess who he is heh.. if you still dunno (tsk), just ask me. I promise I'll tell :D haha..

Finally settled in

Yah I know this came a little late, given that I have been back since the 22nd Sept. The load of administrative stuff took up a lot of my time. And the internet at home is not even properly up yet. I am the only one at home who manage to log on. Maybe Force 9 likes me haa..

The first day I touched down was spent house hunting with Hui Min. It didn't take long. I was initially expected a long drawn process of bargaining and walking before I could finally get her settled in, but by 4, things were more or less settled, and I am glad that she is more or less settled in too.

Then comes the lugguages and storage. Bingrong got back a day after me, and we rented a car the following week, and thus began the massive work in moving mine, and his boxes home. We also had to help Hui Min move hers to our place for the time being, because her very good friend kindly informed her that his place was full and the occupants had a hard time maneuvering about the storage. (Did he think about where the boxes would go since she didn't have a place of her own yet?) If Ziming could live with 90% of his room covered with boxes, I don't see why this guy cannot.

Oriental City. This was my first visit there. Bought loads of groceries. It must have been quite a site to the Ang Mos to see Chinese buying boxes of instant noodles (msg hair killers) and hundreds of kilos of rice. Yah to keep the story short, we were all damn tired at the end of the day.

The rest of the week were filled with uneventful, but necessary administrative stuff. Shall not attempt to bore you with them.

The last weekend that just passed was spent moving for hm and helping her to move in. Now, we officially wait for the final year of school to start. Year group meeting going to start in a couple of moments. Take care all. Ciao~
