Same old stuff

We are back to the same old business of choosing internet service providers, think about what furniture to buy, and how to retrieve storage again.

In short, I am returning to London.

MAF is the one event which will always hold a special place in my heart, as does Hwa Chong Junior College. As I was sitting beneath the lantern looking at the stage, at the displays, and finally, at the HCJC logo and sign, my teacher commented that it will soon be taken off, and replaced with "Hwa Chong Institution". How depressing was that comment. The one name which had engraved itself deeply in my heart, would soon be forcefully, and unreasonably taken away.

Despite quite poor execution this year (sorry councils), it was nonetheless the best chance to meet up with friends. Hung out with mainly the 中文学会 guys and gals, are mostly 2 years or more younger than me. Sigh... What happened to the people from my batch man~

Whatever it is, I am real thankful for this chance to know these people, who even after these years, could still remember one another as close friends with a common love:黄城夜韵。Thankful that these are the people I know will be around for me for the next few Mid Autumn Festivals to come.

Thats 2 KTV sessions in a span of 2 days. I am losing my voice!

Monday was spent sleeping the morning away, before I left to meet Alvin and Bingrong to get our desktop repaired. Seems like there is something wrong with the motherboard.

Met mine and Eda's OG for dinner at Marina. Disappointingly, not many freshers came, and we were in fact faced with a small attendance for the dinner and Bernard's celebration. BUT, the exco were having their meeting somewhere nearby I think, and they answered our summons with enthusiasm heh.

Went down to the KBox at Cineleisure after dinner, where talents were aplenty. The highlight of the day came after the KTV session. Jeftor and me, not wanting to spend money on a cab, decided to walk home from Bukit Timah againd to. Suriprisingly, we took half the amount of time we took last year to walk the same distance.

Tuesday: Forced myself outta bed early in the morning to meet Marvin and Jerome for a mini Hwa Chong Night events discussion. I manage to keep myself awake amazingly during that meeting. I headed down to Clementi after to meet the Imperial juniors for badminton. Shag... it has been quite a long time since I played quite competitive badminton.

I headed back home for a well deserved rest... or so I think. I got this email from my boss, or rather my ex-boss who emailed me to help him with some stuff, so type type type... finished that in an hour. It was then that the phone rang, with Jerome on the other end. The Mech Eng guys have finished with their dinner, and some of them were headed to KBox for KTV session. Right... so I am headed for cineleisure again.

Bushed. Going to sleep once my hair dries out. Volleyball on Thursday, so tomorrow shall be spent catching up on my rest.

Schumi started with a lap 1 spin that earned him a 32s deficit, and Rubens used the wrong kind of tyres, causing him to lose his pole position. Initially I thought that that would be the end of the Ferrari domination at the Italian GP, but well oh well~

毕业后, 一首华初的歌真的那么难唱吗?

I have recently been feeling rather strongly about Hwa Chong. It could have been because of my frequent trips back for meetings and activities. It could also have been the anti-change in name sentiments residing within me. Whatever it is though, even after 5 years, sometimes I wonder how different it would be if I could still be a student there.

Does 5 years count to be a lot? The photograph was taken from Mr Chow's personal website, a website he dedicated to his days in Hwa Chong. It has been 14 years since he graduated. Doesn't my 5 years shrink by comparison?

Change of Hwa Chong's name

This is just a little comment I ripped off from the online petition that we are passing around.

I'd like to comment that Hwa Chong belongs not only to the future students but also to the past students whose efforts have made what Hwa Chong is today. I'm afraid by changing the name, closeness that many students have with HCJC after they have graduated will diminish. If so, HCJC/HCI will be nothing but an empty shell. When spirit is gone and name forgotten, what's there left anyway?

The new comp gave me a big scare last night. Kenna-ed some stupid virus or worm that took control of my keyboard. Took me a whole night to get rid of it. Hey apologies to those people who received gibberish from me =P
Yah, anyway its UK Bound tonight. Looks like after the VIP leaves, it would be another drink Kopi session with the other non-chiongsters-in-arms.

What we have been doing for the whole day. Ken, Eewen, Enxin, Huimin and Val, and me met up to paint the Hwa Chong Night banner. I think the gals really produced a fantastic work. Well done! =PpP

Vodka in action in one of the games~ Bite the apple... I forgot who got the first bite, but HALF the apple did disappear in that attempt. Then with Jeftor swallowing the core of the apple, we broke a new SS Record =P

My group inventing ideas for the flag. Eventually it was Eunice who came up with the nice flag, BUT, I wasn't there yet haha..
