Life goes on

Have received my results for this year's exams. Luckily, and I really do mean it when I use this word, I scraped yet another First. Perhaps I should not sound so un-satisfied with what I have gotten, considering that I only know of 3 persons who achieved Firsts, and that the pass list IS significantly shorter than that of last year.

Its alarming how difficult this exam got this year.

Work is going on fine, except that with Rongtai and Guojie gone, I am the sole target board left in the transformation team. In short, any Directing Staff who has something regarding transformation for us to do would be thrown straight to me. Exciting.

In a way that is good, and I am actually starting to push myself harder at work. When the guys are around, I tend to do my work slowly, dally here and there, and to a "dishonourable" extent, give up doing work at all sometimes. I could almost feel my military writing skills getting better, as I churn out more and more papers for the DS-es.

Oh well, life goes on. Sigh

Transformation

3 weeks into my job. The people here are almost friendly, if not a little strange =P. Senior officers they are, but do they really have the bearings of one? Perhaps its because they are on the verge of retirement, hence they do not care much, but nevertheless, what's their impression on junior officers?

LTC Allan Tang told us to make full use of this attachment. THE difference between the students who have their attachment back in their unit and those who served out their attachments at places like MINDEF and SCSC are obvious when they return from studies. While being in unit you are more familiar with the people around you, and the things that you are expected to perform, but by being in a surrounding where you are exposed to senior commanders, you will grow to speak and express yourself with ease in front of them.

News Flash!

Jonathan is attached! Hahaha...

My committee met up at Jon's place on Saturday for dinner. It was really great to gather and talk, in a most unmeeting like manner heh... Caught up with each other, (well there wasn't much, cos it had been only one month), and of course, we interrogated Jonathan (to no avail though).

Watched Wimbledon after that, to witness Sharopova clinching the Women's title at a age of 17! Goodness.. what was I doing at 17... J2??

Sunday was spent catching up, not with friends, but with sleep. Realised that it is real exhausting to travel to and from work for a total of 4 hours a day. Any kind souls out there staying in the west who can house me for another 9 weeks? =P

SAF Day today

Yay! I didn't know that its a half day until I came to work today. That means that in another 1 hour's time after the rededication parade I am free to roam!

Have to get a few things done, including making a new pair of spectacles. No, to be more precise, a more durable pair of new spectacles. The one I made in Uk, though elegant and expensive, does not really seem all that durable to me.

Have been working for the last 4 days already. Really haven't done much, but I can forsee a whole load of junk coming my way soon. Its just that the Colonels are too busy with SAF day that they are ignoring the projects (and hence me) at the moment.
