News and more news

1. Went back to HC to invest a new girl, and till now I still don't know what her name is. However, from the looks of the outdoor cooking that they did today, her attitude wasn't that bad, though she have loads more to learn.

2. Had lunch with Clement before the meeting. Unsurprisingly, Peida wasn't free at the last minute to join us, BUT surprisingly, he brought Jiajun along... Hmm... 00S60 guys out there, yes I do mean the Jiajun from your class =D. Well, now the entire ExCo knows.

3. Sojourn meeting. Finally ironed out all the small small details. So according to the description of my job, I am going to be the storyteller, the Programmer, the Orientation Group leader, the Station Master and the campfire starter. Talk about multi tasking. Nevertheless, I am like sooo excited for it to get started!

Worry casts a big shadow behind a small thing

Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear. Berg

Nostalgia

Somehow, as I was talking to Ee Wen did I realise that even my Hwa Chong Great Grand Juniors are already alumni. Time sure passes real fast. It was after that talk that I visited the site that my grandjuniors put up, looked at the familiar faces in the photo, and I bathed myself in remembrance of those times. I still miss those times. I sure do.
Coincidences

Its curious how and where you might meet your friends.
After a tiring 9 hrs train ride to Kuala Lumpur, early in the morning at 6am, I met Pamela and her Cambridge friends at KL Sentra station (Of all places)! Talk about coincidences!

Spent the next 2 days there, and made use of the time to come up with the crappy storyline for Sojourn. This is my first attempt at fantasy story writing, and surprisingly it turned out rather well. It gave me the chance to practice on my thys, thees and thous as well =P

And now, I am back in Singapore. Once again, you meet friends when you least expect them. This time, it was Yiken, on his way to NUS to work, transiting at Harbour front MRT. I am definitely curious about the work he is doing, coz he turns up for work in tees and berms! hmm...

Thats about all for now... shall turn in for a nap after the 9 hr train ride...

Monday Blues

1. Woke up late today. Have to rush downtown to get my Flight date changed. Confirmed that I am leaving on the 1st October.

2. Immediately after that, I went over to KTMB to get my KL ticket. Disappearing from the face of this island from this evening onwards... Back in business on Thursday =D

3. Met my mum and visited my granny. It has been 2 weeks since I came back, and this is (apologetically) the first time I am visiting her.

The damages NEL can do..

After a week long of work, the last thing that you wish would happen would be a disruption to your rest...

2230: Left City Hall after a meeting, and boarded a bus that would normally arrive at Hougang Interchange. Settled in for an hour nap.

2300: Woke up to see how far the bus went. Horrors of horrors... i didnt recognise the place! The darn bus have been re routed because of NEL, and I am quite a way from home, and by the time I got back to Ang Mo Kio MRT, it was 0015. No more buses for me. Darn....

0016: Withdrew $$ and spent 10 bucks on a taxi home.

Season

This is the time of the year, where everyone starts leaving Singapore again. And it will be another year before we get to see each other again. Sigh...

Of Aching muscles and Sore Butt

The Night Cycling trip has concluded, and we have managed to cycle through the night, reaching to all the checkpoints that we have planned out!

We left East Coast Park at 1945H sharp! For once, Singsoc members are on time! The first group reached Changi Village at 2115H, and we went to work on the famous Nasi Lemak.

We left for Chomp Chomp by 2200H, and arrived in Kovan at 0015H. Tampines is a bad place to cycle in.. dark, quiet... and its so easy to get lost in there. But we managed it all the same, and by 145am, we were happily tucking in to stingray at Newton Food Center.

By then all of us were tired, and the butts were sore, but we pressed on! Tackled the Bukit Timah Road, and then the steep slope at the beginning of Clementi Road. Went on an up and downhill ride, and reached NUS perspiring like mad. Time: 4am.

By 445am we were on the road again, headed for Harbour front. After a few more brief stops for a breather and photo taking, we were in time for the sunrise back at East Coast. We were a herd of tired, but satisfied bikers.

This has been a most fruitful trip, but still, you won't catch me on a bike for the rest of summer. End of report =D

A Breather, at last

1. Gotten back my results, and I just scraped my first class for the first year. Well, at least I would breathe easier =D

2. The bulk of the fresher details are in. That more or less concludes the heaviest part of my job this summer. Now, its time to turn towards UK Bound and Sojourn, and look forward to it!

3. Finally, concluded all the mega preparation for Esther's birthday. Currently waiting for the days to pass, so that next week would come faster!

As most of you can tell by now, this Summer hasn't been really eventful =P You can tell from the very limited photos I have taken so far. No happening outings... no Sunway Lagoon trip... well... simply just waiting for one of these to pop up =D
