Simply Red

Yup... this is round one of the Chinese New Year reunion meals with comarades in London. Without the close comfort of my home and family, these pals more than made up for it.

The food was not really all that fantastic, but the atmosphere more than made up for it. When you are in London and you get Red Packets and Chinese Food, how much more could you ask for?

Language of Friendship

Easy is keep the friendship with words
Difficult is to keep it with meanings.

The language of friendship is not words, but meanings.

Officership

The 3rd week of January.
3 Years since I have entered Service.
2 Years since I have been Commissioned.
1 Year since I have been a Lieutenant.
And this is the day my best friend is getting what he deserved after 42 weeks of training.
Yuehan, great job.
You will become a great officer.
To lead, To Excel, To overcome.
Hold Fast.

Stress ?

"Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac."
-- George Carlin

Many of us feel like this, I especially for the maniac part. The students in my department do not seem to be lagging behind in any tutorials. I suppose I am the idiot there then =P

Well... Help!!

Stonehenge & After Thoughts

We went to Stonehenge and Bath today. Somehow, it was not as spectacular as I though it would be, given that it is something that we all heard of ever since we are real young.

Photographs from Stonehenge

However, as the guys were debating about whether Stonehenge is one of the seven wonders of the world, I remember reading about what the Seven Wonders of the World are, as viewed by a blind little girl.

To see, To Hear, To Smell, To Taste, To Feel, To Give, To Love.

I can't help but agree that despite the successes man claim over building odds, whatever He has granted us, holds wonderous.

Many Meetings

Met Weisiang here in London today. It is strange how fond memories of what has past can come flooding back at such instances.

Thought of Hwachong.
Of the mugging days with my soccer khakis in the library till late night.
Of the Huang Cheng days when we believed friendships will never die.
Of the VnR physical trainings, where blood and tears are shed together.
Of course, we were merely teens at that time, but nevertheless, teenhood memories are those that I still hold on to.

Hold Fast

Friends

If one day you feel like crying...
Call me.
I dun promise that
I will make you laugh
But I can cry with you

If one day you want to run away-
Don't be afraid to call me.
I don't promise to ask you to stop...
But I can run with you.

If one day you don't want to listen to anyone...
Call me.
I promise to be there for you.
And I promise to be very quiet.

Mouses and Handphones

The problem with leaving your handphone charging on your table is you will end up trying to move your cursor with a phone and try to answer calls with a mouse. real comical, but it happens.

Courageous

Somehow I am quite affected by the Naval accident. Maybe it is because as an integral of the force, I could not believe that an accident of such massive damage, both to equipment and lives could happen to the force. The last specialist is still missing. I just hope that she would be found soon. May god be with here, and grant her the will to live if she is still alive.

Surpises and Stitch

It is eight days after my birthday passed, and I am really surprised to be presented with a cake, a card and a stitch! Heartfelt thanx goes out to Yuxiang, Sinyee, Danielle and Kenneth. Now I have 2 Stitches staring at me from the front of my table. =PpP

Solution to 2 of the world's major problems

Feed the homeless to the hungry

2003

Well... Its 2003...!! a year has passed and this is the first time i am actually celebrating my birthday and the new year somewhere foreign. Its nice for a change, but I prefer to have my closest around me nevertheless =P

You know that you are now 21 when:
1.) You stay at home and mop on your birthday.
2.) You no longer have little friends singing birthday song around an enormous cake at Macdonalds. (I used to have that =P)
3.) Birthday greetings are of the kind : 'Hey, when are you going to watch R.A.??'
