So, here is an update on our Summer, which ends next week with the girls starting school. Sorry about the delay or lack of posting during the entire summer.

The summer started with Andrea's birthday, then Eddie's, then Mine (Scott's) and finally Allie's we are looking forward to Elena's later this fall. The pictures are kind of spread out. See if you can figure out which picture is from which birthday. If you guess it right you might get a prize, or something?!

The Morning Cast...

We spent this morning near Fish Lake. When we got there Eddie immediately wanted to fish so we handed him a fly rod and let him cast. He loves it so much we have to share this:

Here are some more pictures from our short trip: Notice there is still snow in the background.

Allie casting with the wind at her back!

Here's one of Andrea working on her guiding skills!

Casting Practice by the car.

Soccer

Last week we decided to play a little game of front yard soccer. Little did we know that we have been raising soccer players.

Here is a clip of all three of them playing...

Allie's Fieldtrip and Nanna's Special Cookies

The 3rd grade went on a fieldtrip to places in our community. Andrea went with the class for all but the last place (the park) and Dad, Elena and Eddie joined in for a couple of stops. They visited the Forest Service, the Farm Service, the bank, the courthouse, Loa Town Hall and the park. The kids enjoyed time away from school, even if it was only to places close by. The only places Allie hadn't been before were the Farm Service (which is in the Forest Service building) and the courtroom in the courthouse.

I asked Elena what she wanted for Monday Night Treat and she said "Nanna's special cookies." Well Nanna's special cookies are called bratzelis and they require a special bratzeli iron that we don't have. We do have a waffle cone iron though so we tried it out. Scott loved the smell while they cooked and felt like he was taken back to his childhood. He wished he could package the smell to send to his mom. I think they turned out okay, even if they weren't as pretty as Nanna's.
