For a stranger...

"To hope is to risk pain"

When you're brought so near to reality, it becomes natural to place your faith in the obverse, even if the likelihood of disappointment is just so immensely real.

Right now, hope seems to be the only reason; faith seems to be the only motivation to try to get by. Years were drastically, and suddenly reduced to days. & now, days, to minutes. It is painful, even for a mere observer like myself. Ignorance is indeed bliss, or well, normality minus the negativity, at the very least.

I'm glad I know now.

At least, it allows me to better control my reaction to them.

I'm grateful for that. For cognizance of it.

& I'm praying and hoping he will get better soon..

1.The Significance of Effective Communication

Communication is an imperative form of interaction, and, as a matter of fact, the only means to get one’s message across.

Good communication skills are paramount to allow myself to be understood by others, while effective communication enables the prolonging of a conversation, and increases the likelihood of your audience warming up to you. Here, effective communication could possibly allow me to better bond with others; the choice of appropriate terms in a conversation impacts the way it will go, and this is part of effective communication. For example, the use of precise language in front of say, a hawker, may instead appear elitist, if not, different, somewhere ‘up there’. Of course, this applies beyond that. The point is, how you choose to communicate with others does determine, to some extent, whether they will become more willing to share their thoughts, or choose to erect an intangible barrier towards you. I'd pick the former, anytime.

Next, awareness of the know-hows of effective communication affects how you respond to others, and well, vice versa. During a job interview, one of the signs which suggest interest would be for either party to lean slightly forward. Understanding this, which I believe is part of effective communication, could indicate that: Yes Kristyn, they’re keen on what you’re saying, expand on the topic and wow them! On the other hand, the lack of such knowledge could inadvertently cause me to cease the conversation prematurely. In essence, effective communication does control the outcome of a situation. Thus, equipping myself with such skills would put me in a better position to leverage any situation. As Robert Anton Wilson puts it aptly, “A monopoly on the means of communication may define a ruling elite more precisely than the celebrated Marxian formula of monopoly in the means of production.”

So Sick of ln[(u_g S_B)/(gε^3 ) (ρ_G/ρ_L ) (μ_L/μ_w )^0.2 ]=-4(L^'/G^' )^(1/4) (ρ_G/ρ_L )^(1/8)

Man, Blogging does help.

It made me realise, while (funnily) typing out that equation, that I somehow took 1/8 to be 1/4 in my calculations. Nevertheless, the answer obtained was not even close. Haha.

Found this on the internet, yeah, in an attempt to shed some stress off. Well, I think it's more than just a joke. The message I received: Persist in how/what you communicate & ultimately you'll get your message across to the receiver. Lol, yeah, that's nonsense, albeit there's that minor sense of truth embedded within.

Didn't quite understand how religion may present itself as a form of comm. barrier.

Somehow, my thoughts got stuck on people shutting themselves out because a particular someone did not/doesn't show enough sensitivity to her religion, in a sense undermining her cultural beliefs and values. Then again, this sounds odd. I don't get it!

A preset of beliefs could alter a way a person can communicate freely. When someone is really religious or has strong beliefs about anything it could leave them with bias on certain topics.

Of course, this is but one answer - barrier to free communication. Hmm.. Read on the net as well;

Love thy neighbor as thyself, (or respect others). If this basic belief is not held by both parties, there cannot be real communication.

Hang on, I'm certainly not a wiki answers person. I just like conciseness in answers haha, sure. Anyhow, I guess there's that element of truth in the aforementioned. Then again, what is real communication? Is "small talk" not real comm.? Maybe they refer to communicating on a personal level? I don't know. I shall think about it again. I know, my post is getting longer, but the juicy part's just ahead!

*P/s: let me know what you think!

Yay FUN part. Random thoughts were going through my mind earlier during the class. I'm sure you have something going on in your mind as well! I mean, it's admirably rare for someone to pay 100% attention right.

DISCLAIMER: The following are purely personal thoughts which I wish to share. Any offence is totally a million per cent unintended.

1. Xi Min looks like an actress! She looks too familiar. Very. I'm sure she appeared on the telly before! Hmm..

2. Is Titus from ACS? His command of the English language is ... about 3.88* times that of the average Singaporean male.
*just a personal estimate

3. Joel mentioned he canoes. But how come he's so fair?! I need his sunscreen!

Happy Lunar New Year to all!
