Where in the heck did 2011 go?!?

Can you believe another year has flown by!? I sure can't!! 2011 was a wonderful year for us hence it's when we got married but 2012 will be full of many adventures!

To wrap up the year we're just on semester break right now, mostly working and also catching up with some old friends as well. A few of the girls I went to high school with got together this week and it was so much fun! Sometimes I swear my friends think I have cooties now that I'm married, or most of us I guess now. So when we do get together it's usually a good time. A few of Kevin's friends will be down for New Year's and we'll be hanging out with them doing who knows what.

To start 2012, I have my LAST semester at Dixie State College, and probably college in general. I'm having a really hard time trying to decide if I should get my Master's or not. I thought I had my answer but I've been second guessing a lot. Kevin has his last semester at Dixie State as well, unless he decides to work full-time before we end up moving up to either Salt Lake or Logan so he can attend the U or USU. Moving itself will be an adventure for me. I've moved once and that was 5 minutes away from my parents. I don't think I'm too scared of moving away from them, but I'll miss St. George. I love it here and I know once we move we probably won't be back to stay long-term. Moving involves getting a job where I'm a newly grad in communications and could go anywhere, but not sure what I want to do and jobs are pretty scarce still. Moving involves getting to know a whole new area and worst of all, moving means we'll be in the snow. Luckily, one good thing about moving is we'll have friends and family close by and it's really not that far. If we had to move across the country then that would be a whole other story. I'll be okay, I know people move all the time and they survive but that doesn't mean I'm still not scared out of my mind.

So far that's really our only plans for the New Year, hopefully our plans to welcome the New Year will be very exciting :)  Here are some of my new year resolutions since it's always helpful to write/type them down and let others know about them as well. They're pretty generic though.

2012:
1. Personal scripture study
2. Attend the Temple no less than every other week-not to brag but we have done pretty well at that except for December.
3. Learn how to crochet- I need to learn how to be crafty before I  have kids or we're all screwed.
4. Go to the gym no less than 4 days a week.
5. Maybe start digital scrap booking.
6. All A's for my last semester
7. Read more leisurely books :)-Love how 6 &7 totally will not work from January-April but it's okay!!

That's all I have for now, but if you have any in mind for me let me know :)

Our First Christmas

Yes, it's true! We had our first Christmas as a married couple. Christmas, in my mind is a way bigger holiday than the other holidays because it is such a huge time to spend with family and giving to those around you. Our Christmas was spent up in Bear Lake with the Larson's and Maughan's. So yes, it was my first Christmas away from home... and I survived! I didn't have any doubts that I wouldn't, I was just expecting tears at some point but I was perfectly fine. I missed my family and everything but I loved being with Kevin and sharing Christmas with his family so it balanced out my feelings quite well.

Our time was spent like most Bear Lake times sleeping, watching sports, playing card games, talking with the family and playing with the cousins and our adorable nieces, going sledding, riding the snow machines and some of the guys did a polar plunge-Kevin included. The lake was maybe 20 Degrees at best and in the summer doesn't get much higher. Sadly, I really didn't take any pictures or videos like I normally would have so sorry this is just a post with words and no pictures of blood, or people flying out of sleds...which they did...a few times :) Or one of me falling off of the snow machine.

It's been kinda fun as Kevin and I discuss what traditions we want to start as a family. I'll let ya know a few but you have to promise not to steal them! Just kidding, they are pretty good ideas so you can borrow them if you'd like. What we're going to try to do every year is give to another family, kinda of angel tree sort of thing. We're not going to tell our children about Santa since that takes away the whole purpose of Christmas and we want our children to know the real meaning and not all the commercialization. They'll still get presents, and somehow, I don't know how but somehow it'll work out and they won't tell other children there isn't a Santa or something like that. Once we have a Christmas tree, or at least a bigger place to even put one of those little ones in then I want to put ornaments of Christ around our tree and maybe have our children pick their favorite picture and decorate some paper around it or something. Hopefully you get the drift that what we want to do is to always keep the spirit of Christmas and Christ's birth in our home so our children and us as well, can have a firm testimony in the Gospel and feel the joy of giving to those in need and they can always feel Christ's love for them and others as they serve those around them. I think that's every family's goal for Christmas, but everyone gets so caught up with Black Friday, and presents and getting the kids excited for Santa that the real meaning of Christmas gets pushed to the back burner. Hopefully we can keep our traditions and our hearts and minds always focused on Christ and the true meaning of Christmas.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and will have a wonderful New Year!! Since the New Year is closer than Christmas now :)

Happy Birthday to THE most amazing man I know!

He is my best friend for eternity,  the one who loves to push my buttons, warms up my cold hands, always puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh, hugs me when I need him most, pushes me to be and do my best, always has a joke to tell, loves the Denver Bronco's like crazy and more importantly he is the most amazing, loving, and handsome husband I could have ever asked for!! I'm so blessed to have you in my life Kevin, and I love you for all the eternities and future birthdays to come!! Love you!!! XoXoXo!!

The rest of the updates :)

Okay, last post for the night :)

The rest of our life is pretty quiet but yet stressful and busy at the same time.

Kevin was able to go up to Logan and spend time with his family the first weekend in November. The big reason why he went up was to see Seth, one of his best friends from high school that he hasn't seen very much since he plays basketball in Colorado. Well now he is a Graduate Assistant and their school played USU so Kevin was way excited to go see him and see his little brother Matt's game as well. I'm glad he was able to go and spend time with everyone. I sadly couldn't go since I was teaching Relief Society and have yet to meet Seth but one of these days there will be a big reunion of  those 6 Best friends and now 3 wives.

Speaking of 3 wives...no, not polygamy. But one of those 6 friends happened to get married last weekend and so Kevin and I drove down to Phoenix, AZ so we could attend their sealing and all that jazz. Plus, Kevin was a groomsmen. Brenden and Christy were absolutely glowing with happiness! We're so so glad we were able to go and be apart of their special day and Kevin, I know is way proud of him and of course was stoked to spend time with Kyle and Steven as well. Sadly, I didn't take my camera so there are no pictures of the awesome groom and groomsmen but maybe I'll steal some for someone another day :)

Well, that's our exciting life. Just add we're enrolled in our last semester at DSC (mine for sure) I have auburn-colored hair now instead of blonde, Kevin is growing a mustache and... We'll be in STG for Turkey Day and up in Logan for Christmas!! Hope our blog isn't too boring, if anyone happens to read it. ;)

Halloween!

For Halloween we dressed up as "Locked Out NBA Players" If you can't tell the sign says "Will dunk for Ferrari Insurance." Totally Kev's idea and it was awesome! For our Halloween fun we just went to our ward party and then on the day went to a party our friends Rachel & Spencer put on. Their party was way fun! Tons of good food, hot tubing, and played "What if" which is quite funny with a bunch of young married couples!!

So You Think You Can Dance!!

For anyone who doesn't know "So You Think You Can Dance" is a reality show that's been on for 8 seasons where it's basically the American idol of dancing. I followed this last season religiously. Very religiously. I watched every single episode, and voted a few times for my favorite dancers. Yep, pretty intense I know. So being such a religious follower I decided to buy an early birthday present for myself after I saw that the Top 10 dancers would be going on tour and had a stop up in West Valley. Best birthday present I could have ever bought! Of course, I told Kevin it could be from him. It was quite the early birthday present since I bought the tickets in July...I think and the show wasn't until the end of October but my birthday followed 11 days later.

Anyway, enough about the boring pre pre show :) The Top 10 but actually had 12 dancers were AMAZING in person!!! Oh my heck, I was so excited for the show and my sister in law Kim went with me and was probably laughing very hard inside because of how excited I was. My heart was racing before the show started and didn't stop until the next morning. The dancers were full of energy, danced 50 numbers and it was non-stop for 2 hours. I seriously wanted to cry because of how amazing everything was. I danced for 15 years and there is no way I could have ever done half of the things those dancers are able to do or look half as good as they do. Major jealousy and regret right there but I wouldn't trade going and watching for the world and so want to do it again next year. I'll just make Kevin actually go this time :) Well, I wish I could put everything into words, and I wish my camera was faster so the pictures would have turned out more decent but that's my description and here are some pictures of our fun experience! Definitely youtube Season 8 so you can see what amazingness it really was. Oh, plus a dancer named Tadd is actually from West Valley and we'll just say he was well loved ;)

Melanie (Season 8 Winner) & Sasha (2nd Place) were the ones to talk and get everyone hyped up at the beginning and say that Mitchell was injured and wouldn't be dancing that night.

You can't tell very well but Melanie is actually dancing in this where Mitchell is supposed to be :)

Some serious Bollywood going on

Tadd is the male in this dance and is actually a break dancer but you couldn't tell he learned to dance in his living room because he is that amazing!!
For this dance each dancer would act like they were painting on the screen and the colors would follow.

Melanie and Marko doing their infamous Statue dance. Which is amazing youtube any dance those two did together and you will be impressed!

There was way more dancing but most of the time I was too stunned to take pictures and plus the pictures didn't turn out that well anyway.

Hello Fall!!

I hate the cold but I can handle this type of weather...70-85 Degrees-ish and beautiful! We haven't turned on our AC once this month which is a beautiful thing since I am always cold and Kevin is always hot. I think we just need to get him a personal fan and me a little space heater. It would be perfect!

October has started out very very nice for us. First, we were able to get up to Logan for a VERY much needed visit to parents and brothers and sister and aunts and uncles and grands and cousins :) It was a perfect weekend to go up because we were able to see both Matt and Chad in their football games, cheer on USU at Bear Lake, watch some General Conference, and just relax.

Too bad St. George's leaves don't look like this!

Then this last weekend we were able to see one of my brother's and his wife as they were down for her little sisters wedding. Also, we spoiled ourselves and went to California to visit Kevin's brother and his family and to go to their newest daughter's baby blessing. We were able to experience an awesome soccer game, watch a stick horse rodeo for the girls' combined Birthday parties, hit the beach, and be the coolest aunt and uncle ever-cause we are awesome.

I'm realizing our October is going to be full of adventures as I'm typing this because...This weekend, my brother is coming down and at least bringing one out of his two boys so that he can go play some golf. Which means Kevin gets to go golfing too. Next weekend, a couple of Kevin's really good friends P-Mo and Koy are coming down to party with us ol' married folks-Langston's, Caples and us. Then last but not least, going to take a super fast trip to SLC and watch the Top 10 Dancers from So You Think You Can Dance-early awesome birthday present to me! Woohoo!!!

Yay we are actually exciting for once!!! I will say we won't be so exciting and go Trick-or-Treating because that is something we are definitely not doing. Well, Kevin can if he wants :)

Other than being awesome and looking good at the same time (Holy cow, I think Kevin is rubbing off on me) We are still in school, and half way through the semester!! One more for me and then we will see where life takes us...Probably up north, Kevin is going to start applying to some schools-USU and U of U and I for now will become his Suga Momma after I graduate...OR get my Master's OR just take a year off then apply for Grad school OR we'll move to Hawaii and become under water basket weavers OR coconut carvers like Corey and Tapanga. Possibilities are endless...Unless money is involved then those possibilities end pretty quick.

Well, that is our life, we love it and that's all that matters :D

Updates :)

I'm not really wanting to work as I'm at work right now or do homework so I figured I'd do a little update since it had been a while...

First of all, we've been back in school for about four weeks now. Kevin tolerates his classes and is doing pretty darn well in the first few tests he's taken. Me..well I like, actually love 1 out of my 5 classes and want to throw something at two of my teachers every day :) Only one more semester after this and I'll be free! Well until I get my masters..if I still want to do that.

Kevin has job!! He had one all summer, but this one is more steady and works really well with his school schedule and the pay is pretty good as well. He works at Appliance Wholesalers Plus and just helps deliver and hook the appliances up. So if you're wanting a new appliance of any kind you should give them a call ;) For my work, everything is the same. It's gotten a little busier but that's how it goes. My boss randomly came down to my desk the other day and said, "so I gave you a raise today." Me "Really?!? Thanks!" In my mind thinking, about time after working here for 2 years, my manager said I'll probably be getting another one next month.

Those types of things are HUGE blessings for us and I am a firm believer on paying tithing and attending the temple regularly. Everything ALWAYS works out and we love it :)

Let's see, nothing else has been too exciting in our lives. Oh wait, FOOTBALL IS BACK!! There's Kevin's excitement. Seriously, first day of college football and he's singing "I love college football" in the bathroom. Broncos played yesterday against their huge rival the Raiders, they didn't bring their full game but at least it wasn't a blowout.

We went to Lake Mead with my family before school started and water was crap, but it was still fun. October and November will be super busy with traveling. First weekend we'll be going up north to watch Kevin's little brothers in their football games, and go to Kev's mission reunion. So it'll be watch football Thurs, reunion Friday, more football on Saturday and who knows, maybe go to a USU game as well. Then the next weekend head to California for our new nieces blessing! Kevin's brother Jeff and his wife Kayla had their 3rd little girl, Natalie Larson. We're extremely excited to go down and see them! End of October will be a super fast trip up to SLC to see the top 10 dancers from SYTYCD perform! I am so excited! It's my early birthday present so should be fun! If I'm able to go and everything works out.. If not I'll have two tickets to sale.

We've now been married exactly 6 months and have almost known each other a whole year! Ha, crazy I know but we're more in love than ever. Our favorite thing about being is married is always having a best friend to come home too.

Seriously, that's our boring life. School, work, gym, and church callings. Kevin watches football and I stare at the screen. He wishes for a motorcycle and I wish to live in a different apartment or go on a cruise. Hm..wonder who will win that battle?! My bets are on Kevin. ;) Really and truely they are cause I want him to have a motorcyle too!

That's it for now and thanks for reading, glancing or ignoring! :)

The Art of Planking

Last weekend Kevin's good friend Parker called and said they were in town so we got together and had a little fun. First started off with a drive to Dammeron Valley for some pie. Which is delicious and well worth the drive. It's only about 20 minutes.

Gotta love the Moses beard!!

Then we got into some trouble by the cops in Ivins. Where afterwards we did some planking. Parker's little brother Pete taught us the art and it is where you so call 'plank' yourself on different items. Sounds kinda immature but it was pretty fun to be the photographer of their moments.

In Kevin's words "It was an epic night"
