After seeing so many beautiful Farmers wife quilts on the internet I decided to make my own version. I have made a sampler quilt using 8 inch blocks. Here are a few of my favourites. I love the yellow and red with a splash of green.
I do love this blue block to, its called Nautilus.
This block has lots of 1 1/2 inch squares, it took ages to put together and its so pretty.
I have made 49 blocks, I think it would make a good size lap quilt.
Every time I look at it I think I want to add another row. I love going through my book and picking out different blocks. I might just have to make a few more.
A little bit of floral inspiration from my garden. I love taking photos with my new camera. Can't you tell. lol.
Have a wonderful Sunday.

2 more finishes
When the weather is hot I like to work on little projects, they are nice and portable and I can move around the house with them looking for a cool spot to sit and stitch. Natalie Bird is my most favourite designer, I love her projects and this little pin cushion is no exception, made in my favourite fabrics Maramalade.
I actually enlarged the pattern just a tiny bit and made my hexagons 3/4 "
The whole project turned out so cute.
I also made this cute little pear from a Fig tree pattern, I love their designs, easy to read and follow.
Its another hot day here so I'm taking it easy and working on some secret sewing for an easter swap.
Enjoy your day.

My new tilda doll
During my break at Christmas time I made a new tilda doll, oh she is just as cute as can be, I love her,
I love the softness about her, her pretty hair and such beautiful soft colours in her clothes. I think she could be my favourite tilda doll right now.
I have 5 tilda dolls now and each one is just as lovely as the other. Don't these two girls look great together, sitting on my shelf in the sewing room. I wonder what they talk about when I'm not here. Probably the mess. lol
Have a great day.

Sunday Sewing
I have had a good but very quiet day today, Hubby is on night shift so while he sleeps the boys and I do things that are quiet. They play computer and I sit and stitch. I framed my Nat Bird stitchery and it looks so nice next to the other one.
I do love her designs.
My very good friend who lives in the UK is having a birthday soon so I made her a table runner. The fabrics match the mug rugs I made her for Christmas.
I put the final touches on a little bag I made for myself, I love the fabrics and the colours. Red and Aqua are always such a good combination.
While Paul was up for a few hours today I made use of the time in the sewing room and I made these hourglass blocks for my new Christmas quilt I mentioned in my post yesterday. I'm using Christmas Fun fabric by Lynette Anderson. Its so cute. I can't wait to start putting it together.
How did you spend your Sunday? I hope it was a good day with a little bit of sewing.

Initial heart swap
Yesterday I received these beautiful gifts from Karen for the Initial heart swap. Look at my lovely little pillow, its so soft and cuddly. I think its knitted. I don't knit and the wool is very fluffy so I think its knitted.
A cute little glass elephant and some yummy chocolates, thankyou Karen I love my gifts.
These are the gifts I made for my partner Carol, 2 initialed mug rugs. With hearts on them of course.
Today I started a new quilt for christmas. Yes I know its a little early in the year but I just loved the fabric so much I couldn't wait to get started. I'll share pics of my progress with you tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend.

Back to school
All my boys had their first day of school today, don't they look thrilled to be going back to start a new year. Big changes for the eldest and the youngest. Daniel is off to college to study Sports Science and Nicky is starting his first year of high school.
My little boy off to high school, where have the years gone, I think I see a smile there.
oops no its gone again.
A kiss from mum will always make Jacob smile. They make me smile everyday. Love you guys.

Friday Night sewing results
I had a great time sewing last night and I achieved alot. I got quite a few half square triangles sewn together so then I started putting them in rows.
I'm going for a scrappy zig zag look. What do you think?
Its something a bit different for me thats for sure but I like it.
I think I'm about half way, probably 4 more zig zag rows and the quilt be big enough to throw over the back of the sofa.
Today I want to get all these rows sewn together and start something new that I'm very excited about.
Have a great day

Friday night with friends.
This week I have been busy preparing my fabrics for tonights Friday night with friends. I have cut lots of 6 inch squares including some plain colours.
I sewed them together to make lots of half square triangles for a new project I want to start tonight. Pop over and visit my blog tomorrow to see what I'm making.
