We got in quite late Saturday night, the plane landed at 11:30 or so, but then we sat on the tarmac for an hour. Something about the taxiways not being cleared of snow. Poor Gary and his cute kids waited I don't know how long to pick us up. I don' think we got back to his place until 2 am or so.
We stayed with Gary Sunday and Monday, ate at a great pizza and pasta place called Patsy's and Gary showed us around the city.
Monday morning we got on train next to Gary's house and rode it down to Grand Central station. My eyes are looking a little crazy in the photo. I don't really like looking like a tourist snapping photos of myself when there are hundreds of people milling around.
We headed over to Toy Fair at the Javits Center in mid-town right by the Hudson River. This was just one of the really cool displays there. Yes, he is made out of Lego's.
And my company's booth. We met a lot of people, sold some products and even had the Mixmates appear on the Today Show!
After the show closed in the evening we explored more of the city. We saw Wicked and walked around Times Square.
While I worked during the day, Bert played tourist. This is the Empire State Building as seen from the top of Rockefeller Center.
And the view in the other direction with Central Park in the background. Bert also had and amazing lunch at Carnegie Deli that day.
Last day there, leaving our hotel. We had a lot of fun. This was our first major trip away without kids!
