Assalamua'laikum.

Sudahkah saudara-saudari ku mendapatkan hakikat puasa?

Tuhan Yang Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.

Mengapa Malaikat seperti contoh?

Wassalam.

How long has it been? Wow. 2 years.
2 dog years since I've written anything here.
Some things has changed. Even my own self has changed.
I am glad for the things that have changed, have shaped me to be what I am now.
I am more relaxed and more mature in some ways. And I learned more & more things along the way.
What has been more important now is that I am happy.
I feel happier and more lighter in my head. I'm thankful to God for that.
I'm even the more merrier as my age catches me up. I'm less worried now, at least for now.
I'm not restricted any more and I feel comfortable with my own style.
I don't want to conform to certain things which I don't like so that's why I am me.
There are many things which made me learn how to deal with. I am not the brittle person that some may thought.
For those who might've find me hard, it's even more challenging.
For those who thought they could walk all over me, they found it was hard & therefore retreated.
As for those who have the privilege to enjoy my cool company, you are in for a very fruitful friendship.
My next upcoming birthday will be in weeks away from now.
Being 33 and single is not all easy. No. I have, however, taken it all with great perserverance and given due
respect to myself.

To all the boyfriends I have loved before, my sincere thanks and many apologies, let's move on.

Life now is full of it - hope & happiness.

Where is Intricate Sonority coming from? Hey, if I were you I'd take

Tragis
Ianya bagai satu repetasi
Hidup ini penuh dengan tragis
Pada dasarnya ia kelihatan baik
Tampak manis
Sebagai satu yang indah
Tetapi pada dalamnya ia berkocakaran
Templak ke muka
Perairan kusut yang didatangi tsunami
Kegemaranku adalah kamu
Hanya kamu dan kamu
Kau bagai angin
Tiupan kencang pada seketika
Dan kau juga bagai dian
Temanku dalam gelap dan terang
Tragis yang mengulangi
Membawa tiada kepulangan
Repetasi demi repetasi
Akan berterusan untuk selamanya
Aku kebutuhan segala
Yang di mana,
segalanya tidak pernah punyaku!
Aku jatuh, aku lihat
Keriangan ketawamu
Wajah yang penuh kedutan masa
Pada seketika menjadi idolaku
Jika tangis mu adalah untuk ku juga
Nah, di mana tetesan air mata mu?
Tertanam ke bumi
Atau hanya kecundang bersama mimpi?
Yang praktik ada di depan ku
Kejutan mimpi hari demi hari
Igauan ini tidak perlu lagi
Berjalanlah aku di bumi realiti
Angin mu itu telah berlalu
Aku juga yang menutupi
Cerita beberapa musim lamanya
Tidak bertahan lagi di hati
Ia adalah satu repetasi
Hidup tragis ini satu sonata santapan diri

Objek Idamanku
Objek Idamanku adalah yang gagah
Dia berani menewasi
Mana yang menentang
Juga mana yang terlentang...
Geli hati aku tertawa
Akan kenakalanku sendiri
Sebab Objek Idamanku seorang gagah
Di kaca TV!
Kerna Objek Idamanku selembut bayu
Seikhlas hati menyentuh, sehalus bak sutera
Ungkapan kata kasih dan nyanyian lagu
Merdu mendayu-dayu menjemputku
Gerak-geri perilaku Objek Idamanku
Di layaran perak tidak terbanding waktu
Dia mampu memuaskan hati sayu yang sedang rindu
Akan nikmat bersuka-sukaan
Bersama di celah-celah dahanan
Pohon-pohon rendang dan redup
Jiwa kemanjaan Objek Idamanku
Adalah seperti yang di-idamkan Wanita-Wanita
Lembut yang akan sanggup membelai rambut kasihnya
Di tepi pancuran air pada petang hari
Dalam galaknya dia mencumbu rindu bersama kekasih
Galaknya lagi dia memasang keberanian diri
Jiwa yang dilahirkan bersama semangat perwira
Tangkas dan pantas memaini keris!
Nahas si pembelot
dalam tangan Objek Idamanku
Celupar kata-kata sang agresif
Menyambar seni silat oleh sang gagah
Menikam keris ke rusuk sang agresif
Habis riwayat sang celupar
Ke lubang gaung penghabisan cerita
Gagah perkasa Objek Idamanku
Tiada tewas akan sifat bathin yang luhur
Zahirnya tidak lolos sama sekali
Kebanggaan riang sang Puteri
Semanis rupa cocok seiring
Kesayangan ramai sepanjang hayat
Aduhai suaramu!
Aduhai langkahmu!
Aduhai manjamu!
Aduhai pintarmu!
Aduhai pekertimu!
Aduhai manismu!
Duhai Objek Idamanku..
Godaan yang terulung di layar perak!
Siapakah dia

Sehingga kini ku dilamuni kekata kasih

(For the love of Allah God Almighty, do save me from the torments of this world, torments of thereafter, torments of hell and torments of my final resting place. I seek forgiveness from Thee & pray my path be lit from darkness, my mind clear of doubts & my heart be clean of envy. All praise is to Allah, the Knowing of all in the heavens and of all on earth.)

To The Male Slut I Wished I've Never Knew!

I have one single thing to declare...

I hate you, male slut!

Maybe I've made these mistakes over and again. But I am just human. Never undone from err. The male slut is just another human too. The slut, too, have made these mistakes many times over and again, never remembering to repent. Will he be biting his lips and retract away like a disappointed animal-beast? Perhaps not, for the male slut will certainly be smothering in his own dirty mud of sheer happiness. The male slut who's contented in his plain old egos will go undetered with his ever bastardly intentions. A male slut who is a beast whom has won a champion or two might think he'd scored his goals at every try. Ah - a beast does never satisfy with just one serving of stinking raw meat a day. Just when a stronger mighty Being doeth sets goals and limits for this male slut thereafter, till the day it comes! I can only say to the male slut , "Take really good care." Humans, afterall are never really satisfied with what they have.

And you, male slut, roll in your own mud.

I wished I've had never known you from the start.

::: I'm forever walking wounded :::
::: I could've left you forever :::

How Many Tears have they cried?
A dedication to the world of Rock & Metal.
What do the music critics of 3 decades ago mean in their words when they labelled early rock & heavy metal bands of the 70's, 80's & 90's as "hair bands"? Was it due to those musicians wore hair-bands whilst performing? Or was it the musicians wore wigs instead? It stumped me for a bit there as I searched for the meaning of "hair bands".

I was only 9 when the Malay Archipelago's airwaves were shaken & rocked to the bottom by bands of Malaysia & Singapore origins delivering rock hits & rock ballads in Malay. It was a time when the local Malay parents criticize the young's rockish lifestyles & the youth's choice of rock & metal music was faced with interventions. This then adds-up the denial of our neighbouring country's acceptance of rock & metal musicians appearing on national t.v. with sweeping long hairs. Nevertheless, the era of Rock swept into the region in mid-80's just like the avian flu of today's millenium times. That was in the 80's then.

Majority of the people in those years loathe the heavy music and
objected to their kids having made adaptations to Rock - its music,
its fashion, its paraphernalia and its lifestyle. Hey, surprisingly, the
bits & pieces of Rock - its music, its fashion, its paraphernalia and
its lifestyle - are still a stronghold front till today, 56 years after its
first beginning from the western world. Rock & Metal music, its
fashion & lifestyle knocked on the doors of our region's shores way
much earlier since the early 70's, at that time I was still running
around in shorts.

If you could've remembered the early Malay rockers of band Sweet Charity began recording rock songs that were your mums' & dads' favourites, the actual rock evolution has gained immense popularity in our region ever since the four rock apostles John, Paul, George & Ringo formed up The Beatles and Mick Jagger rivals the UK rock band with his own satisfaction in The Rolling Stones. There - from as early as our grandaddies' time there have been the super substyles of heavy metal, punk, alternative, grunge, emo and others, all originating from the genre of rock.

The subject about "hair bands" - as you might've known, Malay rock band Sweet Charity adapted to having long locks of hair as an image to upbring the music that they love & play. Then comes in the mid-80's Malay rocker musicians of rock bands Search, Lefthanded, Wings, Sofea, Febians, Bumiputra Rockers, Rockers, Rusty Blade, The Unwanted, Helter Skelter - to name some percentage of the "hair bands" in Malay rock. Each of these bands and musicians are well varied in their musicianship skills of course, in spite of being labelled as "hair bands". The bigger "hair bands" of the 70's & 80's that have hatched far more frenzied followings among rock & metal music listeners the world over are the ones coming from the west. Long, long locks of hair, frizzled & drizzled bangs and pretty curls adorned the heads of band members from
the likes of Def Leppard, Jon Bon Jovi, Guns N Roses, Firehouse, Helloween, King Diamond, Motorhead, Deep Purple, Dio, Rainbow, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Sepultura to even the make-up adorning bands and musicians of either Kiss, Twisted Sister or Alice Cooper. The eastern world does make rock & metal music advances as well and they're not to be left out cold in the scene as well, when even Japanese rock band Loudness breaks in the market within the excellent period of the hot rocking era of the 80's.

"Hair bands" lived well enough in the mainstream market through to the mid-90's and sooner as the millenium rushed in, more of the "hair bands" have acquired age and hence concentrated on road tours and what do you know, the critics have at least stopped jabbing at the "hair bands" at all. I think the reason why many critics would label long-haired musicians as being in "hair bands" is probably because these critics thought in their own opinion these musicians' music lustre isn't as brilliant as they look and to top the cream of their opinionship, the musicians' extravagant rock lifestyle thus invoked much of the critics' judgements. And then there are the drugs and booze. Which then escalated as much of the parentals' objections to their kids having adapting to rock & metal music and its lifestyles. A big chunk of miscalculated judgements have brought about the young listeners and followers to being involved in misthought situations and then it became one big issue of a social problem of the youths. The underground music scene that was making its way around the world snaked through the lives of youths who in hope of barricading parents and social workers away from their lifestyle of music & listening choice. Sad as it looks, good bands are being misjudged by the controlling authorities even till present day. Save the mainstream and commercial bands that were more acknowledged, many metal music are still under the heavy scrutinizing of the controlling agencies in many countries. This then have brought about numerous independent labels to cater recording to the underground metal music around the world. Many subtypes of metal music was thought to have its affiliations to satanism, blood-sucking rituals, gory murders, sex, drugs, booze and the sorts. The same 'doctrines' was connected to the rock music of the 70's and 80's "hair bands", by firm beliefs of some worldly mortal religious leader who sits in Rome who says the music is a decaying form of destruction for the people. The most important thing to point out about passing out doctrines are to evaluate the more relevant issues. The famished and starving world is a bigger attention to pay to rather than having to blame music for all of life's negative causes.

Even as we listen, learn & valuate the music of rock & metal of the 70's, 80's, 90's and the present day, we should already be understanding the quality of contents in the lyrics that each of the musicians are putting out to the listening audience. In actual form, the lyrics of Metallica's Creeping Death depicts the story about Pharaoh's killings of baby sons in early times Egypt and Metallica's music arrangements are what made the essence of their songs be well-received by metal fans the world over. We may even be pleased to know about Iron Maiden's lyrics raises more meanings about historical happenings, life, death, afterlife and the Creator. Save the images of monsters, Djinns and other beings on their CD sleeves, many of the metal genre music are showcases of excellent music styles and good musicianship discipline with good music writing. In the example of Sepultura who originated from Brazil, the musicians wrote numerous songs about freedom, racial discrimination, territorial fights and the social issues the country faced.

In the larger numbers of many good songs written by many metal bands are in fact in light of current world happenings and words or suppression and repression. Are we to say that certain rules and guidelines have come short of one thick line that separates them from the music world? That this music of the rock & metal genre have thus gained extra popularity over the years as it progresses and it has become the center of a multi-billion dollar global industry! So I'd say Big Bollocks to critics of the rock and metal music world, be them the world media, the bickering musicians themselves or even any Harry, Tom or Dick-faced lads in the music scene.

Things have since changed from the 80's till now, the current 2006. The word Rock had actually become more of a fad for many who've shunned rock & metal music before now. Who's to know what Korn is or who Nirvana are even if it means putting on a t-shirt with Korn or Nirvana inscribed on its shirt front without even having the knowledge and that actually hurts rock & metal music scene real deep, by having the wearer or the user not knowing the vast roots of the music itself. Most recent times have we seen many new brands of young musicians sprucing up freshly from somewhere. A number of them are good, if not excellent. And no disrespect must be shown to the new breaths as these are kids who've actually learnt music in arts institutions and there are some whom are self-taught to goodness are going to be the continuing chain to rock & metal music either locally or globally. So long as they tend to remember the roots of this music and acknowledge the fact that without the old legendary rock & metal there will not be newer generations now to create fresher sounds of the future.

To support the idea of my subject, here I've included Helloween's metal hit song from their album 'Walls Of Jericho', titled How Many Tears. Read at how the German metal band indicates the world's sufferings. A good thing to ponder about rather than just having terrorism be the subject of all discussions, day in day out!

How Many Tears

[Weikath] / Helloween

A lot of things occur each day
We've got to live with on our way
There's so much misery on the screen
With commercials in between!

And the Russians won't be so late
Uncle Sam don't wanna wait
No matter if you're black or white
You never ever had a right!

And look up to the eternal skies
See warfare even there
What once has been a paradise
Now destruction and despair

In other worlds the children die
Lacking food ill from a fly
Oppressed by troops to tame their land
It's all the same again!

If any man is free on earth
Then tormentors steal his birth
They slam gun butts in his face
And leave his woman choked in mace!

So stand up for our human rights
Push back this pest of hate
Raise your voice pass on the light
Unite! it's not too late

How many tears flow away
To become a sea of fears
How many hearts are torn apart
Till another torment starts

But before the world
Turns into a sun
All the cruelty and violence
On earth will be dead and gone

So stand up for our human rights
Push back this pest of hate
Raise your voice pass on the light
Unite! it's not too late

Auditions Revealed! - SBOTB2006

I was more than ready to meet the newly-joined bands hot & fresh from the oven during the weekend of auditions line-up on July 8th and July 9th 2006.

The sudden downpour of rain on Sunday afternoon didn't really dampen the spirits of the competing bands and everyone arrived at Planet Paradigm to realise the moments of each participating bands' performance and deliverance.

We have seen 40 joining bands display their talents and skills on stage over the weekend. And we're glad to see a big number of the participating bands that made it to the next Quarter Final rounds which will take 5 weeks of operations. Of the bands that have performed for the auditions are : Dark Illusion, Splendid Adjustment, Dark Chocolate, 13-Stitches, Mythician, Broken Valentine, Blizzard, Cataclysm Children, Table For 4, Blaster Foundation, The Geeks, The Eight Sevens, Declaration Of Independence, Mooks,
Capo @ 5, Savage, Epitome Of Beauty, Issue 11, Poetic Justice, Haphazard, Kings' SlaveZ, Claw Rockers, Kegs, Silver Throne, Three Time Failure, Chaos, Ignitionz, Crossover, Redefined, Z-Survival, Bladez, Bigroad Jamm, Denvil, De Ataq, Nakalistik, Virus 66, Zyklon-X, Say Whale, Desert Rose and Magica.

The audience are curious about who these bands are and we had a little intro interview with some bands picked randomly from the audition round.

My first interview was with a band that prefers to deliver things a bit soothing and easy listening eventhough they have a knack for Rock as their concept. DARK CHOCOLATE is headed by vocalist Sarah, guitarists Zaini & Bani, bassist Mustafa, drummer Adie who deems special in his capabilities despite being disabled in a small way and will later be joined by Shan on vocals and Ayie on guitars. Being set up together for a year, DARK CHOCOLATE is actually a compendium of two bands whom each individual definitely comes from diverse music background. As for Dark Chocolate, the members agreed it to be of versatility with Rock roots in their blend and they intend to feature Japanese songs to the audience in the future. Check out Dark Chocolate at the upcoming Quarter Final rounds and show your support for this special band.

I am actually intrigued by the personas of this next Rock band who've named themselves SAVAGE and is made up of Liz on vocals, Wan and Zat on guitars, Sani on Bass and Zed on guitars. From what I can really feel, these rocker guys are far much younger than many other contenders in the competition and of course much younger than myself too. However, their passion for 70's and 80's Rock is still 'rock never die' attitude. I mean, these SAVAGE guys will put in extra effort to practice harder for the upcoming quarter finals for they wish to move further in the scene. Liz, the vocalist, (he's a young outgoing lad by the way) trusts his band can go far with the opportunities in hand. The band is looking for gig slots islandwide. With all their beliefs & perseverance ahead, they will make it far.

Everybody loves new sounds and everybody will love new genres being introduced into the competition. I have watched Indie-Rock band EPITOME OF BEAUTY perform on Saturday at Planet Paradigm and I have made an earmark for this local band that has been gigging around for quite a while since they started out in late January of 2006. Syed on vocals, Hilmi on guitar, Hafiz on bass and Ibrahim on drums, are actually classmates from the same school they attended back in year 2000. So far, EPITOME OF BEAUTY has owned two pieces of original songs to call it their own, which they usually will perform in all of their local gigs. They admitted that they have quite a following in the gig scene here. Meanwhile, the band's plan is to aim for the goal and win the competition excellently.

A large, extended band that has joined the competition consists of music students from a private music school. The band have the driving force to give something different to the audience by playing Pop in the Singapore Battle Of The Bands 2006. HAPHAZARD is a merge of two bands from the same music school and they were formed up to meet for this year's competition. Let me introduce to you: Patricia on vocals (she sounded so sweet & so much Daphne Khoo-like), Julian and Jeremy on guitars, Nurni on bass, Joseph on drums, Brian and Amanda on two keyboards. The presence of two keyboards, accoording to Brian, will result to a more full sound, he tips. Check out HAPHAZARD's musicianship skills in their Quarter Final round.

Another band that has caught up with the audiences is THE EIGHT SEVENS which has been set-up since two months before SBOTB2006. The band members have met each other through contacts of friends and get together to play Rock in their performances. Vocalist Sheryl, (Good voice control), girl guitarists Lydia and Sarah, bassist Carissa and drummer Jireh has not arrived wasted at the competition when they read the result that THE EIGHT SEVENS have made it into the Quarter Finals. With their ideas and music skills in hand, I guess what'll be up their sleeves next? I can only wait for their next serving.

I met up with big brothers from the band MAGICA for a small intro of themselves. The band consists of Rahmat on vocals, Md Noh on guitar, Rosman on bass, Ramlan on drums and Jalaini on keyboards. With their quality on-stage, this band of course had their own taste of exposure since way back when they usually perform at weddings and getting involved in various competitions before. Eventhough MAGICA has only been set-up since a month now, these old friends whom got together from different bands has the essence of musicianship skills in them. Magica's concept of Rock aims to win the audiences and also to win successively for the band.

Of course my greatest wish for every of the participating 50-over bands is to flourish in their endeavours and undertake the interest of winning at heart. And I believe that music unites everyone. So, happy performing and please do your best! Singapore needs you to keep the arts moving.

As Far As The Eye Can See

A burst of lively colours in the garden. Daisies & sorts.

Warped in fresh cool air, these flowers live happily ever after.

Fresh flowers blooming in the serenity of the cool climate.

What if life's transport is as twisting & turning as this roller coaster by the edge? Truth is, it already is.

The long and winding road seems so small compared to the plunging valleys & endless silhouettes of the mountains in the twilight sun.

Cool mountain air is just so spectacular. Such is the greatness of Allah's gift.

Mountaineous range sprawled across the land between Selangor & Pahang. In between it is where we stayed in our hotel room, bearing the sight.

High on galvanised steel beneath the shroud of wet clouds.

The arrival of the Z Dukes
... in slippers!

The arrival of the Z Dukes...

A minus 4 degrees celcius temperature is just mormal fun for someone like me who've ever worked in a minus 25 degrees freezer cold store before. However, the air is damn dry so it's unadvisable to stay for long. This, we took hidden photos at Genting's Snow world... hehehe!

Our nice pizza brunch. It certainly is yummy.

Champion kart racer. 48, Female, mother of two.
Not even any other contenders can overtake the circuits from this enthusiastic driver.

We are on cloud 9. The moist precipitation is just pleasant. Way cool...

Here I am again in Genting, the playground of sorts for big overgrown kids like me.

The metal sculpting looks gothic to me though...

Uh-huh.. and yup, we had boarded the High Decker bus to our intended destination. Cool way...

Living In Kuala Lumpur
Aaahh... I've reached my aunt's living space @ Sang Suria Condo, the condo that made news last March about the killing of a S'porean-born businessman.

Look downwards & this is what my eyes can see from my bedroom window. Clean & pleasantries at Sang Suria Condo.

The view from my room @ Sang Suria Condo, snapped just before Maghrib prayers. At night, I slept on my bed overlooking those magnificent towers like I'm its 'guardian'... hehehe!

It's a 360 degrees bird's eye view you'll get at Sang Suria Condo in KL (& any other high-rise at KL's city centre). Breathtaking view, really!
