Edible Crayons

These squirrels like to bake.  Not just bake, but bake & DECORATE.  Emma has had her eye on a crayon cake picture for months now.  She insisted on making her own birthday cake.  I didn't complain:)  She did a great job!
By cutting up a 9x13 cake and some ice cream cones, she made frosting and got right down to business.  She cut the cones in half and then laid them on the "trimmed" cake to create the crayon tips.  Colorful frosting takes care of it!  And it was yummy, too:)
HAPPY 14TH BIRTHDAY!

Asparagus Chicken, Yummmm!

I found a recipe online a couple of months ago that looked absolutely scrumptious!  Asparagus Chicken is simple, yet looks fancy enough to pass as a "special dinner" for guests or in our case, a birthday.  This was Kara's choice for her birthday dinner.
A folded breast of chicken with some spiced up mayo sauce, pepper jack cheese, and asparagus tucked inside.  I use 2 toothpicks to stake the chicken firmly around the goods.  Place on a pam sprayed foil covered cookie sheet.  Brush the remaining mayo sauce over the chick roll ups & sprinkle with corn flake crumbs.  Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes or until chicken juices run clear.
ABSOLUTELY   YUMMERS!!
