今天终于把累积多年的5分钱全部解决！

小小的5分钱，金光闪闪却毫不起眼。平时消费难得有机会使用，就算能派上用场也很多时候忘记趁机脱手，不知不觉中居然收集了不少。那天把它们通通拿出来仔细一算，竟然多达5元，也就是100个！

惨了，怎么办？

The likes of Apple, Google (or Alphabet) and Toyota are in a race to build the first fully automated driverless car that can be marketed to the general public. It can be potentially revolutionary, holding the promise to reduce mishaps caused by drivers' errors on the roads. While still in the infancy stage, the progress made will surely be fast-tracked within the near future, given the amount of funds, talent and resources pouring into this endeavor.

It would be interesting to take reference from the aerospace industry, where a similar development occurred perhaps decades earlier. Pilots used to fly airplanes. Nowadays most pilots control the computers that fly the airplanes. Automation by computers, with increasingly sophisticated safety features built in have in theory, eliminated the chance of a pilot error causing a crash. Indeed, air travel has never been safer and it is often said that one is statistically more likely to die on the road than to be a victim of an air crash.

UTC Johor

First time went to the UTC Johor today to renew passport as well as driving licence. Decided not to go to High Comm since I needed to renew my expired driving licence as well. UTC allows me to settle both in one shot.

Read from online info that UTC opens at 8.30am daily. Judging that it was Sunday and school holidays are near, surely there would be a huge crowd. In order to beat the crowd, I decided to set off early.

What happened?!

Did I fracture my leg?

WRONG. No broken bones, only broken skin.

A horrible VENOUS ULCER erupted on my shin. In order to stop the rot, this special 4-layered compression bandage was slapped on my leg.

Oh my, I must say that it was REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE. My toes started having this tingling sensation as soon as the last and tightest layer was wrapped on, as though they were being strangled to death.

Within 5 minutes, I decided that this tragic suffering must come to an end. If the ulcer continues to rot, so be it!

Now I think I have a better idea why this treatment is not particularly well-liked. Imagine having that on you for several weeks!

*Disclaimer 1: I did NOT have any ulcer. I simply volunteered to be the 'model' for the demonstration of how this special dressing is applied.

*Disclaimer 2: Until a more effective treatment is found, 4-layered compression bandage continues to be the recommended treatment for most cases of venous ulcer.

跟大雨赛跑

今天，我跟大雨赛跑了。

早上出门的时候，天空乌云密布，隆隆的雷声不时响起，眼看大雨就快倾盆而下。

在巴士上，我还在犹豫，究竟该趁下雨之前，赶紧走我一直走的近路，还是该在地铁站下车，再绕远路走到医院，但是可以避免淋雨。

最终，我决定赌一把——走近路。

就在我踏出巴士的那一刻，豆大般的雨点开始哗啦啦地降落。

该死！这场赌注输给了老天爷。

我只能开始拼命地跑。已经很久没有跑步的我，也为我还能够跑得如此之快感到惊讶。

跑到了医院门口，只见外边的景象随着雨势的增大而逐渐变得朦胧。我一边喘着粗气，一边感叹道：”幸好跑得够快！”
