Another {note}worthy Card!

After the card I made yesterday I couldn't help but make another one! I really enjoyed using the {note}worthy pages. Usually I am use my favorite finds such as designer paper, ribbon, brads, flowers etc very very sparingly!! But... I broke the habit and used another page and I have another card in progress!!

Again I used the HA Four Dolls and I added a flourish from PTI. I chose my colors from the {note}worthy page pulling the deep pink line from around the edge of the lighter pink. I used PTI Raspberry Fizz such a yummy color :)

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Cream (PaperMillShop), Raspberry Fizz (PTI)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz (PTI)
Stamps: HA Four Dolls CL297, PTI Fantastic Flourishes
Accessories: PTI Raspberry Fizz Designer Paper, Making Memories {note}worthy, SU! Vintage Button, Prima Got Flowers, Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly Punch, HA Pink Gems, Twine, Queen & Co. Brad.

It's another warm muggy day in the North East of England and the sun is just starting to break through the clouds :) I have some sorting to do in the garage and maybe a little time to craft before Karl's parents come for tea. I'm cooking Crispy Potato Skins for starters with a garlic dip, the Fillet Steak in a creamy whiskey sauce with pan fried potatoes and I bought a chocolate dessert for afters :)

Hope you all have a great day & thanks for stopping by :)

Sending Happy Thoughts

Hello! Well a few days off work means a few days to be able to stamp and enjoy myself!! So today I got into the groove! Below is one of the cards I made today. It uses a Making Memories {note}worthy page and I have been wanting to use one of the pages ever since I saw Kelly Rasmussen's card.

The vine is already printed on the page and I thought it looked a little Japanese so I used one of my four dolls from Hero Arts. I have not used these stamps as much as I would like to! The sentiment sentiment comes from the sending happy thoughts clear design set, yet another set I haven't used much!!

Just a little close up below of the main image.

Ink: Orchid Opulence SU!
Stamps: HA Four Dolls CL297, HA Sending Happy Thoughts CL305

Hero Arts Complementary Challenge

This weeks challenge over at Hero Arts Blog was to use one of the complementary color combos. I decided to have a go at the purple and yellow. In the past I have always loved using purple but recently I haven't and I rarely use yellow so I thought it would be a great challenge for me which is was!

For this card I used HA design block stencil and I clear embossed it onto my background. I then created some die cut flowers which were inspired by Dawn McVey HERE. I didn't have any purple grosgrain ribbon so colored some white with my SU! markers.

Below is a close up of the flowers which have HA Manuscript stamped on the purple layers using clear ink.

Hero Arts Diecuts Challenge

Hiya!

Have you seen this weeks challenge over at the Hero Arts blog...? If not I would check it out as they have some super duper giveaways thanks to Quickutz. The challenge this week is to use a diecut on your project and if you use a Quickutz diecut then bonus you get a double chance to win the main prize. I don't own any Quickutz dies yet lol! That could change by Sunday! Anyhow, this is my first entry this week. I hope to have another go and possibly maybe a scrapbook page..?

I used my Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge for my die cut shape. I'm so in love with this shape haha! The sentiment is 'a warm hello' in case you can't quite make it out. I so need to improve on my photography skills!! Below is a close up of the butterfly to show how I doubled it up to give the effect of fluttering wings!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: SU! Choc Chip & Bordering Blue
Stamps: PTI Polka Dot Basics, HA Warm Hello C4496, Heart Winged Butterfly F5158, Design Block ButterflyS5041
Ink: StazOn Opaque, SU! Bordering Blue & Choc Chip
Accessories: Anchor Linen Twine, Gold Pearl Gems, Foam Dots, Spica Clear Pen, SU! Old olive Pen.

It's hard to see in the photo as it is very subtle, but I have added twinkling to the butterfly using a Spica pen. I have some other ideas for this challenge and I hope to do some more crafting today, Friday & Saturday. I'm back to work tomorrow :( but need to earn those pennies for spending on crafty goodness :)

Playing With My PTI Goodies!

Today I received my PTI order :) I LOVE new things especially crafting goodies! So I just had to play whilst I'm not at work! The weather is rainy today and pretty chilly so my gardening plans are on hold! Any way back on track and to my PTI order. I ordered 3 stamp sets this time round, beautiful blooms, tea for two and fantastic flourishes. I expanded my color choice of ribbon adding aqua mist and berry sorbet and ink berry sorbet and also got some berry sorbet vintage buttons! Oh and some bitty dot paper!!

The card below doesn't use any of my new stamp sets, haha! It does use the new color ribbon, buttons and paper!

I really love how people have been creating a pleated effect to their ribbon, so I had to give it a try! It looks okay but needs perfecting a bit - lol! Below shows a close up of the detail and on the aqua mist flowers is the damask design pattern with some added sparkle!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: White, PTI Berry Sorbet & Aqua Mist

Our Creative Corner Challenge

This card I created, again using my new PTI goodies! For inspiration I was blog hopping and I hopped onto Our Creative Corner. It's been a very long time since I submitted a OCC challenge card. This week the challenge is a sketch challenge.

Below is the card I created for the sketch challenge. I really enjoyed this sketch and loved using my PTI goodies! I used the Tea for Two and paired it with the so very versatile Polka Dot Basics set. I'm loving the colors dark chocolate, berry sorbet and aqua mist :)

Just a little close up of the detail. In hindsight I would cut out the middle of the tea pot handle! I just think it would have looked better! It was too late when I realised as it is mounted with foam pads.

Last Weeks HA Background Stamping Challenge

Hi All, I am back today with last weeks HA challenge entries for background stamping. For my first card I found my old favorite Florentine Scroll Background stamp and used white StazOn and stamped it onto the two pieces of Raspberry Fizz card. I then created a background using another old favorite stamp of mine the Hibiscus Style Flower. The Happy Birthday is also from HA. I really liked the color combo of Raspberry Fizz, black and white so it came a theme for my cards for this challenge!

Below is a close up of the card.

This second card I created I broke out some of my newer HA stamps that I just had to buy but had not got round to use!! The woodgrain stamp is from the Artistic Windows Set. I used a piece of the background I had created for the first card and also punched the butterflies from the same.

Another close up below of that lovely woodgrain and butterflies with little tiny silver pearls on them.

For this third card I wanted more white space! Again I used the scroll stamp from the Artistic Windows set and again punched the butterflies out of my own background paper and used a strip of the paper on the card.

Just a close up again of the main detail on the card. I really enjoyed making all of these cards and did them all in one afternoon. The ideas were just flowing :)
