You're gonna love this....

Happy Tuesday!

I have been trying to get this post finished since
before mister baby made his debut.
(which was 6 weeks & 4 days ago in case you lost track :) )
Somehow, I have the time this AM so, without further ado-
I am excited to be able to share this fabulous artist with you.
Leigh Ann McCoy
Leigh Ann lives in Southwestern, Virginia
with her husband & adorable 3 year old son.
When she's not busy with her Wife & Mommy job
(no idea how that's even possible)
she finds time to create amazing things like this....

*Wonderful birthday & wedding gifts

*Unique way to celebrate a family's newest arrival.

*Something to give the person who "has everything."

*I think my favorites are the picture frames & the stork ornaments.
It's hard to say though... I love it all!

I had a chance to ask my talented college pal a few questions
& here's what she said-

QB: When did you start painting?
LA: have always loved spending time doing some sort of art... painting, drawing, you name it; my interest in it started at a very young age.  As for the painting that I'm working on now - ornaments, frames, glasses, etc. - it all began w/ a few Christmas ornaments I painted for a couple of friends about 5 years ago... it grew from there - thanks to their prompting!!
QB: Do you have any formal art training?
LA: I do!  I had a double major in college... Psychology and Studio Art.  Honestly, I never really thought I would be using the art like I am now... I more or less just wanted a reason to keep it up while I was in college.  Who knew!!
QB: Where do you find the inspiration for your artwork?
LA: There really isn't one specific thing that inspires me... some days I just wake up with new ideas, others I see things out that I think would be fun to put my own twist on - it could be anything from a pairing of two beautiful colors to a pattern on a piece of fabric.
QB: What do you like to do in your spare time?
LA: I have a three year old son, so spare time is pretty limited in this house!!! BUT, when there is downtime, I love spending it with my son and husband, painting, cooking, shopping, traveling... if only time allowed for them all!!
QB: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would it be and why?
LA: Italy!  Lots of art, shopping, good food and wine... it's definitely top on my list!

Happy Daddy's Day! (& a Lilly giveaway*)

Happy Father's Day all!
Mister Baby, DR & I have been spent the day just hanging out.
We've all caught naps
(some of us a few more than others.. ahem mister baby)

It's been SO hot here that anything outside is
entirely out of the question.
Besides watering the new plants and grass of course
(that's for you Grandy)
Mister baby's been smiling up a storm these days.
He's just over a month old now
(which I can NOT believe)
& he's growing, learning and changing so much.
It's so much fun to watch.

I sure hope you've all got your Lilly picked out for tomorrow for:

STOP ON OVER AT MONOGRAMS & MARGARITAS
FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A LILLY CRITTER CLUTCH

Have a fab rest of the weekend
& enjoy your Daddy's.

What's new in my zoo....

Well folks, as of yesterday, we're officially on our own.
(Yipes!!)
My Mom, aka mister babys "Grandy" was here
for 4 whole weeks.
(which have FLOWN by!)
In that time she grocery shopped, she cooked,
she cleaned, changed diapers,
hosted a fabulous Sip & See party for the baby
& performed a gardening mini-makeover,
She flew back to PA yesterday afternoon. (waaah!)
We had lots of fun while she was here & once again,
I'm not sure how I'd have survived that time without her help.

DR has the rest of this week off so we will have some
family time- just the 3 of us + the furry children of course.

Mister baby is doing fabulously.
He is laid back, super easy going & has a spunky little personality!
He's been holding his head up like a champ &
has actually slept through the night several times so far.
He loves bath time, car rides & walks in his swanky stroller.
(um.. that sounded like a write up for an online dating site-
hey laaadies!! haha)
Seriously we are so lucky to have such a happy
&  lovey, little boy. :)
Here are some new photos from the last few days-

out cold

cuddling with daddy after the Sip & See

happy as a clam!

this is my new favorite picture

A collar poppin' good time!

Hey there!
Well I initially stopped in for some leisurely blog reading
BUT
was then inspired to write a post of my own.

My wardrobe revolves around one very solid, good ol' stand-by,  article of clothing.
I have dozens of this same item in every color & brand imaginable.
What is this item, you ask?
It's the
 POLO SHIRT

I wear them year round
no matter what part of the country I am in or what the weather is like.
They can be dressed up (to a certain extent) or dressed down
& they look phenomenal with pearls.

All of this polo talk made me think of
chapter 4 of The Official Preppy Handbook
"Dressing The Part,"
in which the fundamental principles of the preppy wardrobe are outlined.
(please locate your plaid copy of the "bible" & refresh your memory.)
Anywhooo....
I am extremely excited that my polos from several years ago
(AKA: shirts from waaay before mister baby)
have been dusted off and are back in rotation.
What a fabulous feeling!

There's a Lacoste giveaway that might "pique" your interest.
(ha, polo shirt humor- get it pique/pique?.... ehh ok i'll stop)
Cool Gal over at "It's The World I Know" is giving away:
a Lacoste polo, Havaianas flip flops & Malin+Goetz lip balm.
