finally... a post about my new job!

I started working for the Morro Bay Oyster Company at the beginning of June and have been enjoying it sooo much!! My day to day is sitting on a dock in the Morro Bay with a view of the rock and surrounded by ships and fishing boats.... I can't complain. I sell oysters to public by the dozen and in bags of 50 (for parties). I also shuck oysters for people to eat raw right there on the dock.

I've made many marine friends, like a baby seagull I named Fatso, a little seal that comes by about every hour, her name is Lu-seal and a really cool Heron that gets pretty skiddish when I approach it still but I am going to keep working on him until he likes me.

Here is my set-up, where I shuck & people dress their raw oysters.

Here is a wide shot of the dock.

The view from where I sit, not too shabby?

fresh oysters straight from their little beds.

This is Jason & Neal... Neal is my boss & Jason works out on the beds, harvesting and caring for the oysters.

Here is my boss Neal hosing off the day's harvest.

So that is what I have been up to. Just working on the dock and having a good time!

It's Been A Lil While...

Sorry about the gap. I guess I've been busy?
Well here is a little update....

I've moved out of Cambria and am now living in Cayucos. I love it!
& so does Olive! (as I've previously posted about Olive's pine pollen problem... & thankfully Cayucos \has NO PINE TREES!) Yahoo!

I live right across from the beach and can hear the waves and bell from the boo-e (is it booie, booey?... whatever those things that float out in the water and ding) through my windows at night when I'm laying in bed. And let me tell you.... it's AWESOME.

So what else, what else...
This is a COOL story...
I've been talking and thinking and trying to do more with photography and pursuing it more steadily. I was starting to save for a nicer camera and doing research on what type I wanted to get. After looking lots online and reading consumer reports I became set on the Canon 60D. And you all know that when I get set on something there is no stopping me! hehe (: I was starting to save and learned that I was losing my job! ): OH NO! What was I going to do? Buy gas and food? Or get my camera? I was in a pickle...

Side note on the job loss:
I worked at a small hotel called The Bluebird Inn in Cambria that is owned by an older couple. They are semi-retiring which is great for them, but bad for my job, haha. Their son and his girlfriend are moving into the house behind the hotel's lobby and his girlfriend is going to take over my job.

Ok back to my tragic story! Wade and I were in San Luis Obispo and he said we had to stop at Best Buy real quick. We will stop there from time to time cause he likes to buy Blue-rays or video games. So we were paroosing around and looking at stuff and he casually suggested we look at the cameras there. We walked down the aisle and there it was, in all of it's glory. Brightly lit with a spotlight and showcased on a perfect, little, black, velvet pillow. (Ok, ok, I'm exaggerated but it was GLORIOUS) I started talking about how beautiful it was and how it was definitely the one I wanted and Wade just non-nonchalantly says, "Well why don't we just get it today?" I was.... speechless. ME, SPEECHLESS. Then once the complete and utter shock wore off I almost screamed!!! WHAT A HERO! I still can't even believe that he did that for me?! OH MYYY! He is seriously the best boyfriend ever and then he does that!? I dunno what I did right to get this guy!

SO! Since I've had the camera I've been taking pictures for friends to build my portfolio and on my own to get it started. Today, I went on a work run with Wade and documented the fun! Here are some...

Wade driving the "little" truck that only requires a Class C. He's working on getting his Class A right now.
Need excavating or demolition? Call the number above(;

Woo, look at that smile!

Gorgeous ponies in Cambria.

Sneaking one of my vain self in... (:

He gets me every time with that smile!

Holding hands in the truck.
I've also taken some engagement photos for my good friend Chelsea and her fiancee, Michael. I'm going to also take photos at their wedding in August! My first wedding! I can't believe it! I'm so excited!!

Here's a few...

They are so cute and so in love! It was so fun to shoot them and I CAN'T wait for their wedding (:

I'm going to post soon about my new job, but I wanna wait until I have some blog worthy photos to post!
<3 till then

It's Warming Up! (:

If there is one thing I miss most about Valencia (besides the fam) it is the warm weather. FINALLY the weather here is becoming semi-beach friendly. It is sorta hit or miss day by day. But on the days that are a hit, I am THERE: on the sand, enjoying the sun! I'm not the only one who has been enjoying the beach either. Wade and I have been bringing the dogs and they can be quite the entertainment on the beach.

This photo was VERY difficult to get, spastic dogs are hard to capture.

They always look so happy running around.
I think this is hilarious.

She hates when I hold her at the beach, she just wants to RUN!

Besides getting my tan on, here are other things I have been doing lately:
Driving tractors...

Celebrating Alli'es 23rd birthday...

& celebrating Easter with Wade & friends.

I continue to feel so blessed to be living where I am and for the people in my life. I MISS MY FAMILY THOUGH! I never get to see them enough, the price I pay for living here, I guess.

Heather's 25th!

So due to an unexpected change in birthday plans, I got to spend Heather's 25th with her up north on the central coast! She spent a couple days up here and we visited all our favorite old vacation spots! We went to the rock in Morro, visited the old campground we would always stay at, and even tried to feed the seals (but it was closed).

When she came into town Wade wanted to take her to dinner so we went to Lolo's (where we had our first date) it is kinda the Don Cuco's up here and since that is our favorite restaurant as a family down south we figured it was perfect!!

After dinner we took Heather's pup Bailey and Wade's dog Marley to the beach to play around. This was Bailey's first time to the beach and it was quite cute watching her run around and chase Marley.

Isn't she the cutest??

We also went wine tasting! Allison, Tiana, Heather and I loaded into the car and drove over to Paso to three different wineries! I, of course, was the default DD(: and gladly took care of my lil babies! They had lots of fun! (of what they can't remember, I remind them(; JK)

This first one was awesome, their tasting room overlooked their vines and they would point out the vines that the grapes came from for each wine the girls tasted! It was a really cool experience!

Our last stop was Tobin James. It's styled like an old saloon and has a really fun atmosphere!

We came home to find Olive and Bailey battling away! (only playing, of course) I don't know who was more annoyed of who! Bailey definitely has more energy then Olive at certain times but Olive is still a puppy herself and is much bigger than Bailey. It took them a little while to figure each other out. But they did great! Heather is very cute with Bailey (SHOCKER!) considering she was NEVER a dog person.... until now.
If she thinks Bailey is playing too roughly she will kindly say something like, "Now Bailey, that is your cousin, and you are supposed to love your cousins. What did I tell you about playing nice? Mama taught you better than that!"
Let me just tell you.... HILARIOUS.

The next day Wade drove us up the coast to Big Sur (ish) to go jade hunting.

We weren't very lucky! (Wade found a pretty nice piece, that he gave to Heather, but that was it)
Heather kept convincing herself that she had found some only to be disappointed when Wade had to tell her otherwise! It's pretty hard to find!

But little Bailey definitely enjoyed the hunt!!
She was absolutely adorable stumbling and making her way through all the rocks.

She tried to be very helpful too by giving Wade an extra set of eyes!

Even though the beach gave us no luck it was such a beautiful day! (ok, it was sorta windy and cold but with a view like this who can complain!)

I think Heather was enjoying herself too!

After the beach we decided to try the creek for jade.

Wade had a lot of fun laughing at Heather and me try to navigate our way through the FREEZING water!
(as you know, we aren't the quietest pair of sissy's)

I had such a great couple of days and feel so blessed I got to spend the quality time with my sis! Since I'm living four hours away and she is so busy with married life and everything it is rare we get to spend that much time together any more. We definitely missed Russel but had so much fun! I'm looking forward to her next trip up!
