Christmas Without Power?

Our power went out two days before Christmas. We thought we would have. Apparently Santa noticed and fixed the power at midnight Christmas Eve. It was a nice present.  A Video is at http://sherwinworld.blogspot.com/  Julie made lots of candy to deliver.  We also got a lot of snow.  Elowyn got to touch it.

I am Grateful!

I am so grateful for these two people! Family is very important to me. I have a wonderful family. These cuties pictured as well as nearly countless others. To you I say thank you for being family to me. I know we had a choice in it all and I am grateful. My heart goes out to those who are missing loved ones for whatever reason this CHRISTmas season.

Elowyn Eleena Davenport pictures

Here are the "profesional" shots taken at the hospital.  You know how sometimes pictures don't quite look like the person. I think these look like Elowyn.  They capture her personality.

This one's for Ro

Roman wanted a picture of him on here so here is part of him. He was jumping all around so it was really hard to get him in the picture. This was taken the day that Grampa had his first surgery. With Roman is also pictured: Seena, Alec, Camilla, Taylor and an upsidedown Allison. Cami is the one wearing the crown- having had just gone to Burger King for the first time. Her mother wouldn't let her order anything though. We are all here at the Plumb's house fingerpainting! Well, at least we were.

Snowbell died last night. Wade and Darian found her this morning when they went out to feed the animals. Here are some of their thoughts.

Wade wrote; Snowbell died and I felt sad. She was a rabbit and I think Bunbun feels sad. I liked Snowbell. After church Darian and I watched a show about rabbit and wrote these letters.

Darian wrote; I loved Snowbell because her fur was white as snow. I feel sad because she died last night. Snowbell was a shy rabbit. She sometimes hid under her cage. I think her friend Bunbun is sad that she isn't alive. She was my favorite rabbit out of them. Bunbun is the only one alive. Snowbell was a good rabbit. We got her at Nana and Grandpa's house. Ivy gave Bunbun and Snowbell to us. We made her a cage and put them in. We put a fence in front so they cant hop out and hop away. We took care of them, Snowbell had a big wound on her belly. She had a good life. Snowbell was found by me and Wade.

School Pictures

The boys were shot.

Darian is now in the 2nd grade and Wade is in the 1st. Might I add that they are the smartest boys in the school? I might.

Halloween

We had our Halloween parties tonight. Soldiers, LumberJack and a giant cat.

We probably have enough candy to for our two year supply (check that one off).

At the church trunk-or-treat someone brought a unicorn. So they are real after all.

Carvin' Pumpkins

Halloween has set in. We carved our pumpkins. Mine is the one with the apple smelling lysol (science experiment).

I suppose I can claim the one in the Starwars Pajamas as well.

lots more than this going on

Just a quick peek into some things and a quick word about them. Very cute playhouse in the making, very nice shelves and cabinetry for around the fireplace in the basement filling the shop as well. The kittens are growing up and feel like humans, at least they think they are. Pomegranates are being juiced- will they work even though they are pink? And lastly, the caruthers fair had a nice booth full of family and prop 8. Vote Yes on prop 8 to protect and restore traditional marriage!

Today I caught a glimpse of Heaven

Today I caught a glimpse of heaven. One of my favorite hymns is I Know Heavenly Father Loves Me. How do I know this? I know because he loves me so much that he sends me miracles. I was home today with Allison. She decided she wanted to play with her daddy. She began by encouraging me to chase her around the couch in circles. Not long after I began chasing her, she was looking for me to disappear around the corner. Each time I did she started to laugh, and each time I found her she ran away giggling. Eventually daddy grew tired and dropped flat on the living room floor, but Alli wasn't finished yet. She walked over to me and lifted up my shirt so she could pat my belly. She found this to be funny. Each time she patted me she looked at me with her gorgeous blue eyes and smiled. I was feeling happy to have her. Suddenly she stopped, layed her head on my chest, wrapped her beautiful chuuby little arms around my neck and squose with all her might. Afterwards she lifted her head and cheerfully said, "daddy!" and gave me a big kiss on the cheek. I was filled with the spirit and thought to myself, "this is how God sees us, his children." I am so greatful for the little miracles. I knew then that the Lord loved me enough to send me Allison. She brings such great joy to my life. I am also greatful for the knowledge I have that families can be together forever. Today I caught a glimpse of heaven.

We Campped some, and beached some.

Then our house exploded.

We called a pose, but they were all gums.

When their flaw was known they made a quick get away in gunny sacks.

Happy Birthday Mark!

He got sang to early on Sunday night with yummy cupcakes and then last night we had kabobs on Jonny's new grill and ate a yummy black forest cake. Isn't this a cute one of Ali? His birthday candles got lost in translation so he got one big fat one!

When I grow up...

Having recently moved, I now live closer to Annette and yesterday took advantage of it to spend some time with her (which I discovered I missed). It was good to sit together and smile at babies (little and not so little anymore), watch a good movie, and fold clothes (it's never ending for some I hear- I'm not looking forward to never ending- I am just fine with mine once a week). We also went to Mimi's for a very yummy lunch after picking up Jer from school. It was a good thing that it wasn't very crowded because we ended up with screaming, tired babies (the chocolate milk drinker wearing a new fashion statement- striped brown and white shorts!) I had fun. What I wanted to share was what I learned about the other kids still at school. I think it can be very telling to hear what kids want to be when they grow up and also how that changes as they do or don't. Alec wants to be a doctor, Taylor wants to write novels, Seena wants to be a nurse/mom like her mother, and Roman wants to own a car wash (you know, like the kind in that shark movie- I've actually never seen it). I think there was also something about heavy machinery for Roman, but I don't remember that. Have your children shared with you what they want to be when they grow up? Do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up? (that is of course if the aforementioned has occurred)

Summer is now done and school is going to start this week. Darian and Wade will be ready, they have been working hard at home school all summer. One of our recent projects was learning about the Huichol (WEE-chol) Indians of northwest Mexico. We learned that they are famous for their brightly colored yarn paintings. These paintings tell stories about their history and religion. A yarn painting is made by pressing yarn into beeswax that has been warmed by the sun, we used glue. Both boys thought hard about the symbols they wanted in their design. Darian is working on a sun with bows and arrows surrounding. Wade has candles, fire, sun, a flower as well as arrows.
We are all excited for school to begin. Darian and Wade have been practicing getting up on time and getting the animals fed and taken care of as well as making a lunch before 8 AM. The bus will come at 8:25. They are doing better and better every day. I am supposed to be practicing getting up with them, to make breakfast and see them off. I am not doing so well. I drag my self out of bed at 8AM. I will do better this week.

I am trying something.

I have a degree?

Saturday Night (August 16, 2008)
Jonny: "Isa, come read this."

Isa: "Someone is trying to sell you a framed copy of your Bachelor's degree? So they gave you your degree?"

Jonny: "I guess."

Isa: "How does this company know before you do?"

Moments later Jonny, for the first time in many months, scans through his academic records online.

Jonny: "Bachelor of Arts, awarded May 17, 2008... Looks like they gave it to me after all."

!Felizitaciones to our recently Spanish bachelored Jonathan Wade Hatch! I never knew, but he had even made the Dean's List his first semester in 2005...maybe his future little Squeaker was motivation. Hooray!! We love our Jonny/Papi.

Counting one of our many blessings!

Mark gave little miss Camilla Anjanae Freeman a name and blessing at mom and dad's ward last sunday. It was a marvelous, beautiful, uplifting and spiritual experince. It was so nice to have so much family around. Afterwards we enjoyed sloppy joes, games and one anothers company on the farm. Cami slept through the party. She was very pretty in the dress and shoes inherited from me which I got from Nana. I also was able to stratch my creative itch and made her a cute bow.
