i've been away for so long that i don't know how to write, where to start..

well first thing first, i am happily married, though i wont appreciate much if people start calling me mrs tay. hahaha. im still a miss, oops, i mean, ms. hehe

after i got married and moved to dear's house, it started to impose some minor inconveniences for my friends.

for one, they totally forgot i've married and moved, if i dun remind them, they will probably send me to st32. lol. and when im say im at home, they will ask, which home? if i say tampines, tampines where, since our houses are in tampines. haha.

but its a lucky thing that my maiden house and dear's house are just 2-3 bus stops away. i just have to wait for another 5mins for them to arrive from st32 to st11. lol, this happen before ok. hahahaha

second, i totally enjoyed my honeymoon trip to melbourne and sydney, with roger and zy along too.

for full pictures and videos, pls go to my fb. hehehe. but im sure all of u have already seen them.

i've also enjoyed 小猪's concert in may. he's soooooooooooo cute and seriously, he improved a lot on his singing. not to mention, his dance is awesome too!

and oh, i am so damn blardy happy that spain won the world cup!!!! its just as what i have predicted - spain will win!!! hehehehe

finally

i've so neglected my blog...

been very busy with the wedding preparations couple of months ago.. finally its all over. :)

of course, special thanks to my brothers and sisters, for preparing the wedding for us. also special thanks to alvin, the photographer, ming song, the videographer, and seng hwee, for helping us to develop a very good childhood photo montage within a week! (photographer alvin's friend is supposed to do for us but he is so stupid that we decided not to use it)

why do i say he is stupid?

well, first thing first, we have been chasing him for the montage after our ROM on 31 Oct. he says it isnt ready yet, but soon to be, he will let us know again. so we thought, ok no problem.

2 weeks later about mid nov, we called him again asking for the progress. he says its still not ready yet, just a bit more to go.. so we thought, fine, probably some fine tuning.

towards the end of nov, we started panicking.. we asked for the final time whether is it ready, should it be not, we will look for others. and he say, yep, we can view it in a couple of days time, on my birthday, to be exact.

so, we went down to take a look..

sadly, it was very badly done.

it is just a very simple and normal montage.

first thing that was off, he spelt the name wrongly. he spelt chris as christ. -.-

then, it was a repetitive of boxes of pictures overlapping each other, with some of the edges cut off on the face.

after it was finished, he asked me, did i get the photos from facebook, because the quality was very bad and very small, so when they enlarge, it got pixelated.

so with the disappointing turnout on the montage, i was a little pissed, and i replied, if the quality was bad, you should have gave me a call earlier to tell me, then i can provide some other photos. i have yet to receive the softcopies for my rom pics, if you have told me earlier, i would have called my friends to get them to send me. and you're only telling me now when its so close to my wedding date.

he just oh, and kept quiet.

after a short awkward silence, he asked a stupid question, this is for your rom or wedding har?

i was like WTF????!!!!

i said, of course its for my wedding, didnt u just see and included and complained about my rom photos?

he kept quiet again.

after a short while, he asked if i have other photos and is the montage ok, do i want to add or change anything. i said ok, i'll try to find those of better qualities after telling him what we wanted.

then he asked again, do i have the hardcopies?

i said yes i have.

then he asked, why didnt i give them the hardcopies?

i told him, u r the one who say that try to give softcopies, so that they dont have to waste more time scanning and editting the pictures. if he had told me to provide him with the hardcopies for the bad qualities when i called several tmes to chase, i would have bring it down for them instead of waiting till now.

so he kept quiet again. and finally he said something funny. he said, next time hor, when u scan the pictures, try to scan with higher resolution. some pics were scanned but with very bad quality.

my tolerance has reached its peak. i told him that no more next time, since all cameras are digital now. and we have been together for 8 years, and some of these pictures were 8 years old. the technology wasnt that good 8 years ago. if u think the quality was bad and u require the hardcopies, u should have just told me earlier!!!

DUH!!!!

im not very smart, but i really cant tolerate such stupid ppl!!!!!

dear was also quite pissed, but at the same time, he was amused by the stupid things he said. he just kept quiet and let me do the talking, coz its probably wiser to just shut up and let me "scold" the person.

i admit, i was rather harsh on him.. but do u agree with me that he is REALLY stupid?

so we decided, not to let him do it, since they will be charging us $250 for such a mediocre work, and we were not able to get another person to do it for us as it was less than 2 weeks to our wedding.

we seek roger's help, since he did up a montage for us during our rom. he was rather busy with his school, so he got seng hwee to do it.

and we are so glad that seng hwee is able to produce a much much much better result within such a short time!!!

ok, enough complaining, otherwise whoever is reading my blog will say im nagging again..

in these 3 weeks, a lot of people have been asking, how's married life? well, sad to say, there isn't much difference for me, since we have been together for such a long time. to us (or rather to me, since im not sure about him), it is just a formality, a recognised and important formality.

however, though there isnt any much difference towards how i see us, there is a difference on how we behave in each other's house, or rather, me.

you see, with the dinosaur age mentality that women should do the housework, wait/serve the husband, assist your in laws in the chores, etc.. i am expected to do all these. not that im disputing, i just dont like this expectation. i also have to wake up earlier on weekends, dont sleep till afternoon like im at my own place..

lucky me, my mil (mother in law), is a very nice lady.. she offered to wash and iron for me, though i've insisted several times that i should do my own washing and ironing.. she will call and tell me that she will or will not be cooking dinner.. she knows that my mom would want me to drink milk every morning, and i always have breakfast ready, she will buy milk and bread, so that i can have them in the morning.

she also mention that i can go back to my mom's place anytime i want, i dont have to tell her, or seek her approval.. but of course, i would let her know out of respect.

anyway, i did offer my help when she's cooking and all. i also wash my own plates and stuff.. afterall, like what my mom say, im married now, so i should behave myself and so that my in law family to have something to gossip about me.

although dear mention that his parents are not the gossipy type, they certainly will not be bothered how late i sleep till, or whatever. not that i dun trust him, but afterall, im not their daughter, they might not extend the same tolerance to me compared to their own children.

i'm sorry, i am really very busy lately.

time is slowly creeping up, and there's still things yet to be done.

the biggest headache is our guestlist.

we have enough tables for our friends, but we are having headache with the seating plans, and who to invite.

if we invite 1 particular person, we would have to invite some others, since they are a group. but if we do that, we might not have enough seats. :\

anyway i think this december really a lot of ppl getting married..

lennart's friend is also getting married, thus he is not able to attend mine. 1 of my sec sch friend is getting married a week before me, so he's not able to attend as well. some of my sec sch friends also not attending coz they have confirmed another wedding to attend. :\

some of my friends might not attend, coz they have planned oversea trips during that week.

oh well, we were mostly worried we do not have enough seats for our friends, but it seems like we might have enough afterall. hahaha

good experience

dear and i went vivo yesterday for dinner and movie.

for the first time, we watched a movie at the gold class!! it was a bloody good experience, though the tix were expensive.. the seat was large and comfortable, with blankets, and u can adjust the seat to almost lying down horizontally and the leg rest raised along with your seat leaning back.

the service was wonderful, very polite staff (of course, such expensive tickets!). din try their food, looks good though, the usual restaurant pricing.

we watched the proposal. it was a good show, combined with comfortable seats and all, we thoroughly enjoyed the show. wont hesitate to book gold class again for good and lengthy movies!

alright, i know i am suaku.. it's my first time to gold class ok? :\

we had dinner at this japanese restaurant called tajiyama yakiniku. its grill, and its good!

it's almost like those fine dining restaurant, a little pricey (our bill came up to $95), but the food is real good. they have ala-carte and set meals for your grills. try it when you're feeling rich!

updates!

im tired of saying this so often, but im really sorry for neglecting my blog..

its now august, and its another 2 months to my rom, and 3 months to my customary. was surprised that time passes so quickly, and we got tons of things to do!!!

we have yet to have the discussion between the 2 families (planned to do it last week but dear's mom got into that awful incident), we have yet to start computing our guestlists, and we dun even know which friends to invite to our wedding!

we have also yet to finalise on our decorations, yet to confirm which catering to order from for our rom.

we are trying to find some companies that do good and reasonably priced photo/video montage. our photo studio is charging at $450 for it, and is not offering us any discounts as they say its the best price! :\ unless dear strike first prize today.... until then, anyone got any recommendations? our budget is about $300-$350.. i tried to diy, but im not good at all these lah!!! :(

ok, for some updates on the things we have accomplished:

first off, i finally finished my pre wedding photoshoot. the locations we went to are tian fu gong, marina barrage and punggol end. rightfully it's considered as 2 locations as long as its not within walkable distance, even if they are near to each other. but the photographer doesnt mind as he took us to a different place with nicer lalang and beach, which is different from where we have recce.

the photos can all be found in my fb. but pls be aware that those photos are taken by roger, zhenyi and kel. the photos from studio's photographer are not out yet.

it was so tiring, especially i din get an early rest prior the shoot. good thing that the photographer was so funny and humourous, we enjoyed the whole shoot despite dear and i were dead beat!

he never fail to make us laugh or smile the way he thinks best. when we thought we were done for that particular view, he stopped us while we were in the midst of walking back, coz he thinks its very natural and it will look good.

unlike many other photographers who dun like ppl to take photo while he's trying to capture the moments, he was very confident of his techniques, and commented to my friends that feel free to take our photos, since it wont turn out half as good as his does!

a little arrogant, but all of us agreed! he even help zhenyi to make the correct setting on lingjian's semipro camera! not only that, when we wrapped up the whole shoot at the end of the day, he took the initiative to go to the canal leading to the sea and take the water for us to wash our dirty feet! thumbs up for his service!

second, dear's mom is fine and is now recuperating at home. she looks much better now, and frankly speaking, she looks back to normal, except that she is sleeping much earlier, afraid of reading the papers (as most of the articles has got violence), and she is afraid of taking the lift alone.

in any ways, we're all glad that she's safe and is recovering fast.

third, we've been looking around for wedding rings (yeah i know, we should have bought it ages ago). have shortlisted a couple, but the one that i really like costs about 3k!!!!!!!!

we have set aside a budget for our rings, and with the extras, we will buy a tv and put inside our new room. hopefully my uncle will be able to get us more discounts on the rings!

fourth, with the help from lingjian, we decided to repaint our room (dear's sister's room, but she has moved out so she asks us to take her room until our new house arrives), and to see how we can position our bed and all.

so dear, me, lingjian started painting in the afternoon, and zhenyi and roger came over to help in the evening. we finished painting and touching up at about 8pm, had our dinner and start cleaning up the room until 11pm. dear still continue to touch up (he's a perfectionist) and clean the room the next few days. and now, our new room has a new look!

as the bed is somewhat next to the door, we decided to have some velcro string curtains or those satin curtains to hang around the entrance, so that ppl cant see us sleeping clearly when someone opens the door.

we can find string curtains though, but we duno if we can diy it with velcro.. anyone got any ideas?
