Merry Christmas!!

To those of you who I don't have addresses for, here's our picture from our Christmas card. It was just taken at my in-laws house. We'll do a professional pic later. Hey, we're all in it & smiling!! That's a plus! Jessica kept saying 'cheese', so we got all these pics with her cheesy smile. So, this was the best one.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas!! We hope that you have a happy day & remember the REAL meaning of Christmas. Jesus Christ was born on this earth to be an example to us of how we should live. His example is how I want to live my life. He died for us so that we could all live again with Him someday. I am so grateful for His sacrifice for me, my family & those around me. I love this time of year that we can celebrate His life & what he did for all of us.
Merry Christmas!!
We love you,
The Record Family

Civil War Re-enactment, Mumford, NY

We went to see a Civil War Re-enactment  this summer. It was SO hot that day. I think it was 98 with 98% humidity. It was miserable!! We were going to leave early, but we decided instead to sit in the car with the A/C on for a few minutes to cool off. It was VERY hot, oh, did I already say that? =)

Wounded Soldiers
 Water girls
The Whole Family. The soldiers gave them the coats to wear. I was thinking 'are you crazy?, it's 100 degrees outside & you want them to wear your wool coat?' But the kids were excited about it. Go figure. I'm a mom, I'm boring. LOL
Did I mention how hot it was?
Craig & Lisa outside the schoolhouse, it was too hot inside!

 The Band-
I guess that's what they were called
 Wounded soldier
LOUD Cannons-Did I mention we were sitting right by these?
Yeah, we were. I had to plug Jessica's ears everytime they fired them.

He was so tired & hot by this point.
Everyone was ready to head to grandmas to jump in the pool after this adventure. What a hot day! Did I tell you it was hot? LOL

Hot Air Balloon

One night we saw a hot air balloon really low to the trees in our backyard. To make a long story short, they asked permission to land in our backyard. Here are some pics of the action & packing the balloon up.

Hunting season

After weeks & weeks of hunting morning & night, Craig FINALLY landed a huge buck!! He was so excited! It's a 10 pt. & he got it over on our new property. He says he still needs to get one more.
Oh brother!!

Jess gets Ear tubes

Well, after 7 ear infections in a year, Dr said it's time for ear tubes! So, on Oct. 15th, Jess went to the hospital at 7am to get them put in.

Look at that scowl, it's like she knows what's comin'!!

Lisa the Triathlete!

Well, I did it! I finished the Triathlon & I am still alive!!! It was VERY hard, but worth crossing that finish line! It was an intense day!! Craig & I literally had 3 hrs of sleep the night before. We stayed at a hotel with the kids. We were woke up 2 times by people being noisy in the courtyard outside our window & 2 times by Jessica-who had an ear infection- we found out a few days later. So, on 3 hrs of sleep I was supposed to do one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life! Crazy! I should have forfeited!! I was so tired!

Me-on NO sleep!
Look at all those people. Crazy people!

Remember, NO sleep or makeup!!
Our Transition Area
Lisa & Jen before the swim

The swim portion was first. It took me about 3 minutes longer than normal. When you're being timed for something, that's a lot!! I was so tired! I opened my eyes under water & noticed there was a diver right under me. It was a little freaky!!!The water was nice & clear though.

Swim course-It doesn't look far, but it was!! 1/2 mile!!
We followed the markers on the left, to the right & back down the markers on the right. In a square.

Next was the bike part... It poured rain the whole time!!! It is also considered the 'hilliest' course in upstate NY-with the most hills!! It was really hard! There was only one hill that I could only bike up halfway, then had to walk it. It was insane!!
Transition Area

Then, the running part. I started running, in the rain, with soaking wet shoes. Then, over on the sidelines I see Craig & the kids cheering me on. It was a great lift to my spirits & I knew I HAD to finish. About halfway through the run, my hip popped out of socket! It hurt so bad! I kept running, because if I slowed down, it hurt worse!! So, here I am exhausted, soaking wet (so much for buying the $70 shorts that dry fast!!) hip out of socket & 1 1/2 more miles to run! I kept thinking " I could just turn back to the finish line, & nobody would ever know!!" The run was a 'down & back', so I kept passing people going the other way, if you know what I mean..... But, I kept going. I knew I had to do it for ME! On the way back, I saw Craig & the kids again, cheering me on, the loudest out of everyone!! It was so nice to have them there. I finally finished the race! It felt so good to be done! As soon as I crossed the finish line I felt like throwing up! I was nauseous for about 4 hrs afterwards too. It was crazy!

I forgot my camera at the hotel & Craig didn't realize the other one was in the diaper bag the whole time, so I only got pics from my cell phone. They didn't turn out bad, but wish they were better.
On the way home, Craig & the boys went to Bass Pro shops to look around & I went to the Mall to buy myself a 'reward'. I ended up getting a dress & a skirt & shirt. In 2 sizes smaller than I started wearing before the Triathlon training!! I was pretty excited!

Happy Birthday Jessica!

My baby isn't a baby anymore!!

Yes, Jessica turned 1 year old on August 1st! She is such a cute little girl!! Her personality just fits her SO well. She is pretty stubborn but such a sweetie too.

We had our good friends, the Warners, over for her party along with Grandma & Grandpa Record & aunt Beth.

I made her a daisy cake. She loved it! It WAS pretty yummy too.

She got some really cute presents. She loves her own baby doll!

She also loves her shoes! She got 2 pairs. She loves her crocs that Aunt Beth got her better than the sneaks from mom & dad. Oh well. The crocs are pretty darn cute!

We love Jessi so much! She is such a joy & blessing to our family!! I love how she says mama & reaches up for me to hold her. I love that she is so happy when she wakes up, she stands in her crib yelling for someone to come get her. I love her little curls in her hair. I love her sweet (open-mouthed) slobbery kisses. I love the way she hugs the boys & Emily when they get home from somewhere. I love it when she runs to Craig to hug him when she sees him. She is just perfect & we love her so much!!! Happy Birthday sweetie pie!
