Sloppy me, sloppy cat

I've been a sloppy blogger, sorry! I didn't have much time making miniatures, however I did buy a workshop from Sylvia (http://lutjeboudel.punt.nl/) to make a stroller. Can't wait to try it, it's so lovely and I have a great idea for the colors!
I've been working and preparing for university, which starts in september. So books had to be ordered, schedules planned and notepads bought.
Also, our kittycat had to go to the vet for yearly checkups and vaccinations. She's a real angel, so she didn't cause any struggle or scratched arms. She is in great condition, not overweight, not underweight and her fur is shiny and thick. But finally the truth came out... she's lazy as a sloth! We (her employees) had noticed she doesn't do much except for hanging around all day and maybe shove in some food once in a while (not chewing, that's exhausting!). She loves to play, but enjoys herself most when her personnel runs around the house with a toymouse of some kind (with her sitting on the couch watching that is). The vet told us not even boycats are as sloppy in grooming as she is! Normal cats clean their eyes when there's dirt in them... Normal cats lick their lips when there's waterdrops on them... Normal cats don't slobber in their sleep if they are young and still have all their teeth... Well miss Vet, ours is no normal cat! Check out the picture below... we know! She just doesn't care about much... As long as there's water and food available and she can jump around on the bed at night, Saphira is one happy kittycat :)

Another follower!

Welcome Sabiha! It's nice to see you here, I've been following you for some time now :)
Everyone, go check out Sabiha's blog, it's nice!

Some more not-housecleaning

Today I had the afternoon off and a friend of mine came over to get creative. She had never done anything in miniature, except for maybe a Barbiedress somewhere way way in the past ;-) I went back to work on the settee, which is taking more time than I thought because I chose an oilbased paint and drying time is foreverrrrrr!!
But my friend insisted on doing something with fabrics today (she blew my paintingplans right out the window lol), so I looked up a corset-making-package I had laying around. And did she get it! She made something absolutely lovely and unique out of the simple instructions!! I was amazed and am so happy she decided to leave it hanging on the wall of my vacation getaway!! Thank you so much Karen, you're a great friend xxx

Here it is hanging on the wall, tell me (or should I say us) what you think :-) Oh she also did the laced hanger and necklace with real seashell! And you can't really tell from these pictures, but there are tiny buckles attached to the garters!!

Pimp my minisettee

Last year I found a horrid settee and bed at the fair in Vaassen, but I saw loads of possibilities to give them both a makeover, so I decided to buy them. The bed is already unrecognizable, but not finished, so no pictures yet! ;-)

Because I had some free hours today that were supposed to be spent on housework, I started on the settee. First a lot of tearing and pulling on the upholstery. It was glued on with some kind of PVC glue and did NOT feel like coming off today. Too bad for the glue I felt like it did! Then came the sanding, because I don't really like mahogany and it doesn't fit the shabby chic look that I have in mind for my summer getaway house. You wouldn't believe the amount of pink dust that came off it when I sanded it down!

I hope to have time to finish it tomorrow or the day after, but there's lot's of pillow-making waiting for me, so who knows.... For now, you'll have to be satisfied with the picture I took last year after buying :-)

So lovely bathroom

I really want to share this hallway/bathroom display made by Tineke. I met her on the Dutch dollshouse forum and her work is great! So have fun on her website and be sure to check out the shabby bathroom :)
Click on the rose for the site and click "In de ban van het bad" for the bathroom!
