...I suck at blogging. In real life I need structure to thrive, but somehow blogging on a schedule doesn't work out for me. I felt like I had to post regularly to be a proper blogger and to earn the attention of my followers. I also felt I had to say something incredibly interesting every time I post. This is a very challenging combination: regularly and incredibly interesting... So I ended up not blogging, which is the complete opposite and I lost some followers because of it.
So thank you to all of you who decided to stick around. And even though I'm not blogging on a schedule anymore, I plan on blogging more often than once every two years :)
I'm in my last year at art school. Right now I'm doing my internship at a company for children's theatre. It's a lovely company, but hard work. I'm not good at making someone else's ideas come to life. I'm having a hard time not being able to put my creative mind to work and 'just' make whatever others tell me to make. But I guess that's the fate of every intern.
Come november I'll be done and I can start the whole graduation process, which is three difficult steps. I'm looking forward to it though and also to whatever comes after graduation. My heart smiles at the thought of being a professional artist and all the adventures that will bring me :)
The dollshouse is also very much in my life. It's a slow, but very satisfying process. I'll have to post some pictures soon of the new kitchen and bathroom. I wanted to join in the HBS Creatin' Contest, but the shipping costs of the starter kit made it way expensive sadly. I had such a fun idea for that little farmhouse! Maybe next year...
And yes I'm still together with my man and I'm still owned by my two cats. I love my little family!
So how are all of you doing?

I realize I haven't been around at all in the last three months. Wow three months rush by like crazy! Just a quick summary of what happened, so that when I want to get back to blogging, I won't have to explain everything :)
One of the best things is that our cats are doing great. Saphira is always the graceful, silly, angelic rascal and Luna is growing into the biggest baby I've ever seen. She just turned one year old in september and is now already a whopping 5.4 kilos (almost 12 pounds)! Yet she produces the sweetest purry sounds and is too much of a coward to even jump three feet. They both make me laugh at least twice every day :)
On a lesser note, I had Infectious mononucleosis, a.k.a. mono, which made me tired for two months straight and is still sometimes nagging my bones. I'm not one to nag back though, so I get on with my life and let mono nag.
School is crazy fun, but also crazy busy, because I want to make the best of every assigment I get. I sometimes feel some of the classes are shallow and spend more time showing me what I could learn instead of actually teaching it to me. I'm working on this with my tutor and he understands :)
I followed poetry classes for the last 8 weeks and I loved it! So much that I erased most of the books on my birthday wishlist and replaced them with poetry books (Ginsberg, Wilmink and Villon if you must know). For his birthday I took my dad, also a poetry lover, to see a dance show of the Noord Nederlandse Dans, a professional dance company in my city. The choreographer worked with American beat poet Derrick C. Brown to make a dance piece set on a poem. I met Derrick at school, where he taught one of my poetry classes and I really like his work. It's accessible and dreamy and Derrick has a beautiful voice. More information(in English) on the really great perfomance and its artists is here.
I'm still crocheting like crazy. I made a bunch of bracelets, a big bunny for my sister, a little bunny for me, a monster purse for a friend's birthday (see below), a bigger purse for myself (which I still have to line with fabric) and I'm working on a scarf and vest for myself. Crocheting is a form of therapeutical distraction of everything else that is going on in my life. I love making my own unique pieces and the crafting with my hands makes me calm and happy.
So life is pretty good here and this seems to be one of the first autumns in my life when I see how beautiful its colors really are and how much pretty color combinations make me happy.

I really can't complain. I live in one house with the best man in the whole wide world and two gorgeous fourlegged furfriends. I also happen to have the best mom anyone could want and I'm a pretty good cook and designer to be. Also, my nine year old sister called me from Italy last week just to tell me she missed me and she wanted to talk to me ♥
I have a good life. So I shouldn't complain about trifling stuff such as the weather... Still, it's august darn it! It's been raining like crazy and it's only 20 °C outside! My sunspot on the balcony has drowned and the view has been a dull shade of grey.
So what's a girl to do?
Make tea first and the best of it second!
So I drank nettle-cranberry-lemongrass tea (yum!) and set to work. I bought some fresh mint and made 'green pasta'. Very tasty and very healthy. Oh and very vegan too, much to the concern of the forementioned best man in the world. Maybe I should post the recipe?
I had wanted to make a photo wall for ages and I finally did it! It looks great and I had so much fun going through old photos :)
And here's a closeup of one of my favourites. I wish I still had that hair color I had when I was four... Funny though, I have an appointment with a hairdresser tuesday and I want bangs. I think I haven't had bangs since I was four!

And this afternoon I redid a white tshirt I bought at the thrift store yesterday for only 4 euros. I got the idea from Trish (http://genuinemudpie.ca). She really knows how to spice up plain or boring clothes :)
Trish if you're reading this, I'm sorry I also copied the stripes and the blue, but I was so inspired by your shirt!
Here it is hanging soaked wet after hand washed some of the paint out. That's me taking a picture in the light of the setting sun peeping through the blinds. I thought it made the photo quite funny. The shirt's not finished yet, but I wanted to show you the great watery lines it has. I love it already! And it's white of course, just looks yellow because of the sunlight (we had sunlight today hurray).

It's alive!
Yes I'm still alive. I was planning to post weekly in the summer, since school work isn't keeping me occupied. Turns out, without classes I have little routine and summer weeks seem to be a lot fuller than school weeks.
I got a new camera from my mother, sweet angel she is. It's a Canon DSLR camera and I'm totally thrilled to use it, so the pictures on my blog are going to be a better quality from now on. I really want to do a fotoshoot of the dollhouse, so keep a look out for that :)
The giveaway prizes are in the mail and the bug swap doll is also on it's way. So now I have time for the video compilation I've been asked to do and for script writing that I should have been doing all summer. I was halfway through when I realized I didn't like the way the story was coming together, so I started over and now I have only one act to show for... Oh well, it'll work out! I've also written another short story for a film competition. Second week of september they'll let me know wether or not I'm through to the second round.
Lastly I'm thinking of doing a short animated film for another competition, but I'm not sure if it will be done in time. If not, then no harm done, because I love making stop motion stuff and I want to take it a little further than I have done so far. That means more work, but also more of me in the end result :) When it's done I'll post it here of course!
So you see I keep myself busy, but only doing fun stuff. Maybe once school starts I'll have more time to blog regularly...
This is Looney by the way, she's so big already! September 3rd is her first birthday and already she's 4.5 kilos! Click the pic for better detail on her gorgeous coat and cute polydactyl paws :)

I need miniature help
The floors are laid, the walls are painted and so what if I still have to install windows and lighting? I have had a lot of fun shifting around collected furniture in my dollhouse and I'm completing the plan in my head of what I which style I want to go for. It's going to be contemporary, but not to modern. It's going to have a slight under-the-sea theme, but I'll try to avoid the clichés. I want to incorporate some design classics that I love, which brings me to the help I need.
I want a (round or oval) tulip dining table in 1" scale, but I can't find one! I love Saarinen's design and if there was space in my home I would so buy the Ikea Docksta, which is basically a cheaper version. Both links from apartment therapy :)
I wouldn't mind buying, but I would mind spending more than 40 euros (55 dollars). I wouldn't mind building either and I have some cool metal or plexiglass to make a table top. But I have no clue what to use for the base that will make it smooth and shiny. Anyone have any ideas or links?
In case you don't know what kind of table I'm talking about, here's some yummy eyecandy (in life size)

I have to get this off my chest
I just recieved an email from one of my teachers that I've gotten a whole point deduction on my written report. My answers resembled another girl's answers too much so he punished the both of us with deducting a point. The thing that really really sucks is that I tried to help out that girl by sending her some information I'd putten in my report. I thought she might want the extra help, because she was struggling with the assignment. Turns out she just copied my answers and now I'm being accused of plagiarism!!
I'm so angry and disappointed and I don't know what to do. I've emailed my teacher that it sucks being accused of this and I would never do that sort of thing. I've gotten straight eights for this class the whole year and now I have a 6.6. It's still enough to pass the class, but it still sucks big time. I've also emailed my classmate that this is not what I'd expected her to do with my help and that I'm hurt she did it. She never even thanked me for sending the information...
The better way to go is probably to let it rest here, but part of me just wants to tell the whole thing to the teacher since I have proof she got the words from me and not the other way around. I know how childish that is, but it feels so unfair to be punished for helping someone :(
Sorry for ranting, but this really bothers me...
