3D Printed Items

These are some of the items we have printed with the 3D printer. None of them have been designed by me, they were all found on the internet. I've painted them though which I found quite a challenge.

This is what the castle looked like before painting.
then after many attempts at painting - I wasn't keen on the colours on the previous attempts.
You can buy the plastic in different colours so they are not always brown to start with.
We have had a lot of spiders in the garden this year as you can see from this photo. [click on the photos for a closer look]

Garden and Sketchbook Pages

This lovely geranium is in a hanging basket in my garden

I like the birdhouse peaking through the shrubs.

I used some old letraset decorative tape first, then Caron Dache Neocolour crayons. Bits from a blue doyley were stuck on, then the plants were drawn with a chinagraph pencil and then markers.

More of the letraset, alphabet letters this time. The letraset does not always transfer properly because it is old. I used the crayons again, brusho and metallic oil pastel.

Blackbird and Bottles

The Take a Word challenge this week is blackbird. Bet you didn't expect to see a chicken. Well it is black and is a bird and it is trying to be like a regular 'blackbird'.

I used a label from Graphics Fairy to put on these bottles. The bottles are actually a photograph which I took at Cragside House, but it would have been nicer to have had the real bottles in my possession.

Doodles & collage, turtle, birds & faces

Collaged doodle - the turtle is from a magazine, it's the Wallace & Gromit creature comforts turtle

I collaged the parts of faces onto bits of the doodle that I didn't like

Birds x 3, IF - Stay

Pen & watercolours. There is a little bird peeking out but he is staying in the bird house.
A woodpecker is looking out of the hole in the tree below.
Either of the above drawings could have been used for this week's theme for Illustration Friday, which is 'stay' but I submitted the one below. The bird really should stay on top of the egg if she wants it to hatch.
