Good morning and happy Saturday! Linda here with a Linnie Blooms Mini Mixed Stitch Journal. With all of the snow and cold outside, I couldn't resist to think of warmer times.
Nothing screams picnic more than red gingham, so I used some Bella Blvd paper to create my fence. The tree was colored with a variety of Faber-Castell Gelatos mixed around with a watered brush. Once dried, I stamped the tree with an old Stamp'n Up! roller stamp in brown archival ink. The base of the tree was colored with Faber-Castell Stamper's Big Brush Pitt Marker.
My favorite part of this was how I made the "tulips". I took Linnie Blooms Small Butterfly Canvas Shapes and colored them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spritz. I always color both sides because when my canvas gets its shabby curl I want to see color on both sides. Once dry, I fold the butterfly shape and use Aleene's Fabric Fusion to hold it in place. Aren't they cute?!!
The final touch was the cute little birdies which were cut out of some more Bella Blvd. paper. If you would like to give this project a try, check out our catalog or contact one of our Creative Reps. You can find both at www.LinnieBlooms.com.

Hi! It's Candy Spiegel returning as my second time as a guest designer on the Linnie Blooms blog!
This time I wanted to share the Stitched Canvas Book I created ... well, decorated anyway. The great thing about this little book is was all sewn and ready to go when I received it!
I started using my Copic Airbrush System and plastic stencils to create the background.
This time I wanted to share the Stitched Canvas Book I created ... well, decorated anyway. The great thing about this little book is was all sewn and ready to go when I received it!
I started using my Copic Airbrush System and plastic stencils to create the background.
To keep things neat, I placed the book in an old box and used Removable Glue Dots to hold the stencil in place.
After the stenciling was finished, I airbrushed a few colors around the edges of the book.
Then, I airbrushed a piece of Linnie Textures and added it to the cover.
Then, I added a Sizzix peacock die, flowers, ribbons, fibers, Dew Drops, charms and more.
Here's another detail shot ...
For the inside pages, I used papers from Graphic 45 and Webster's Pages. I continued airbrushing the pages throughout the book to tie it all together.
On this page, I airbrushed the Linnie Textures for the right side of the page, then used it as a stencil for the left side of the page.
I hope you enjoyed this peek inside my little mixed-media booklet. Visit my blog at http://candyspiegel.wordpress.com/ for more inspiration.
