Merry X'mas!

2 more days and it will be Christmas! Yippee!! Christmas is a time of giving and sharing. Let Baby George wish all of you a Blessed Christmas and a wonderful year 2009! Hohoho...

We brought baby to Orchard to see Christmas Lightings last friday. We walked from Tanglin all the way to Takashimaya. The lightings this year are nicer than last year's. Along Orchard Road, there are booths with different themes whereby ppl are dressed as sheperds, soldier, cartoon charaters, Korean costumes, etc. They stood there for visitors like us to pose and take pics with them. On top of that, there were mini x'mas hats being sold. I bought 2 for my baby. He looked so cute with them on his head.

This is the main entrance of Orchard. The theme this year is so sweet!

First Swimming Lesson

Baby George underwent his first swimming lesson this week. It was being taught by his daddy. But....... it was a "dry" swimming class and it was held in the morning at home.

I guess my baby was confused by his daddy. When daddy was teaching him a style, he will tell baby the name of it. I was laughing at my hubby. He did a direct translation of breast stroke in chinese to frog style. I really can't stand my hubby. I told him he was wrong by saying that and he still tried to deny. In order to convince my hubby he was wrong, I asked him if he ever saw in swimming relay of a style called frog style. His answer was "No". See... man will always never admit their mistakes in front of woman.

I find this video funny and I took it before telling my hubby about his mistake. Wahahaha...

A different X'mas this year

Christmas this year is going to be very different for me. Remember during my younger days, I will be busy with christmas presentations at church, busy practising carolling. Those were the days. It was so much more interesting. I have friends surrounding me, unlike now, with my dear baby everyday.

I guess I miss the days when Im young. So much freedom and I can do whatever I want under the sun. I can choose when I want to play and sleep. But now, Baby will dictate everything.

Meeting up with friends seems almost impossible with no hands to help me to look after baby. If I really want to go out to meet friends, I will have to bring him along. I would be doing so this coming Monday. To meet my ex-poly friends for x'mas gift exchange. Hohoho...

Im still trying to adapt to my new life. Hopefully I will become more adventures to take baby out by myself and go shopping one of these days. Staying at home everyday will really kill me!

Continue with breastmilk??

Im constantly asking myself this question lately if I want to continue to express milk for my baby. My mum and hubby had been nagging me to stop now as they are concerned about my health.

Well... they are concerned about my health as Im not eating any home cooked food at all. Im having take away food everyday since I was pregnant and till now Im still doing the same thing. Cooking is not in my dictionary right now as I really feel tired looking after baby and doing household chores at the same time. There's no additional pair of hands beside me to ease me off some load at all.

I guess I have to stop somehow, someday. But when will this day come? Im making the first step today by cutting down the number of times Im expressing my milk from thrice to twice per day. But by doing so, I have to endure the pain of engorgement till night time for next pump. This is going to be painful. But I have to go through it. I guess all mums who experience this knows how painful engorgement is. I actually love the feeling of emptied breasts. It is really wonderful. Keke...

Im going to do it slowly as my baby is undergoing stage 2, weaning stage. I cannot disrupt him too much by introducing solids and milk powder together at the same time. The change will be too drastic for him. I really hope everything will go smoothly both for me and baby.

Visit by my cousin

Today is Hari Raya Haji and my cousin actually brought his family to my house to stay over for a night yesterday. They came to Singapore for shopping trip as well as to see christmas lightings. As they arrived late last night, my baby was already sleeping and they can't play with him.

Early this morning, after I bathe for my baby and taken our breakfast, we began to have our entertainment. So what's our plan, let me share with you. Hohohoho..

My cousin also has a baby. She is a 3 months old baby girl. So whenever we are together, we will always snap pics of them together. They are always so cute together. Some pics to share.

My cousin's daughter:

Little prince and little princess

Of course, we would not miss out the most interesting part. Viewcam their actions down.
Look at my baby closely. He is so cheeky. He loves to pinch her, pull her shirt. Whenever he did that, he will give out a cheeky smile and of course the poor princess can only shout and complain. Boys are boys and girls are girls. We do not need to teach them at all. You just need to put them together and you can tell for yourself. The boy will start bullying the girl and the girl will start complaining. Wahahahah....

Baby Flipping

Wanted to post a video of my baby flipping over long long time ago, but did not do it. Will post it now. Hahahaha...

My Purchases

Went IMM today as I have some Giant Cash Vouchers to be used. Just walked freely with nothing in mind of what to get, except for rice cereal which I need to get for my baby. I need to start weaning him soon! So excited! Im wondering how my dear baby will adapt to the change that will happen next week.

As I was walking aimlessly, I passed by a "push cart stall". Stopped to browse at the clothings. I have not bought any clothings ever since I delivered my boy. Its mostly due to the fact that I still can't accept my figure now. Whenever I pass by any boutiques, I will just see and touch. However today, do not know what is the urge going within me, I actually bought 2 dresses from the "push cart stall". Im very happy that I still can wear clothings that are purchased from "carts" without trying. Actually Im not fat lah.. just cannot stand my deflated tummy Im having now. Hehehe...

A Jumping Baby!

I bought a Jumperoo for my baby from Mattel Toy Sales. Finally my wish came true as I have been eyeing on this "springy toy" for quite some time. Due to the price, I was quite hesitant to get it. However, thanks to Bee Bee for informing me that it was selling for only $180 at Mattel Toy Sales. When I heard it, I immediately went down to get it. It was cheaper by $60 bucks. This is indeed a good purchase.

When I reached home, I was so excited to get it installed to put my baby into the Jumperoo. Once I got it all done, I carried my baby into the Jumperoo and he started jumping. Oh.. he is really a very active boy. He also began exploring all the gadgets on the Jumperoo.

Breastmilk

I have been giving my baby breastmilk since he was born. The only times he was fed with formula milk was when his jaundice level keep going up even after phototherapy. That was when my PD asked me to stop giving him breastmilk for 3 days to monitor. After the 3rd day, we went back to check on the level and it actually dropped. PD confirm it was breastmilk jaundice and gave me the go ahead to resume back to breastmilk again.

I remembered when I just delivered baby George. He was being brought to my arms immediately after he was born and I latched him immediately. I was so clueless how to hold him, how to ensure he was drinking, even though I attended antenatal courses. Hands on experience is so important to get things right and work well.

Till now, I have been expressing milk 3 times a day. I spend a total of 3 hrs daily just to sit down and express milk. If you ask me how this is done, I will tell you this needs lots of discipline and perseverance. I can still remember when my milk flow just came. My milk just can't stop flowing out. Even after I emptied my breasts before I go to bed, I still need to wake up in the middle of the night to pump milk! Unbelievable! Previously when baby was still young and sleep much more, I pump milk almost every 3 hrs. Now since he is growing to be a big baby, sleep much lesser, I cut down to thrice per day.

I actually bought a freezer specially to store my breastmilk as my supply is much more than baby's demand. Let me show you some pictures of the freezer I bought to store milk. This freezer is already full.

I also used the other freezer to store as well and it is going to be full as well.

This is how my stored milk looks like:

I make sure my earliest milk do not exceed 3 mths. Therefore I am now taking the old milk bit by bit for consumption. Of course, do not forget I always have 4 bottles of freshly expressed milk in the refrigerator as well!
Im thinking of stopping expressing breastmilk soon. I suppose the milk supply that I have currently should be able to last for more than 2 months. Wait till my freezer is too full for additional storage and that is the time I will stop expressing breastmilk as I couldn't be buying another freezer to store milk again!

The day my darling called me Ma Ma

I remember clearly the day my baby called me Ma Ma. It was few weeks back on a weekend. As usual, my baby was taking his long afternoon nap. Sometimes he will wake up in the middle of his sleep crying and I will carry him up till he sleep again before putting him to bed again.

However, on that Saturday when my baby cried, I called my hubby to carry him for me as I am tired of carrying him everyday. Even after my hubby carried him, he was still crying. My hubby was not able to pacify him. As my baby cried, he kept calling "Ma Ma.... Ma Ma.....". Oh.. my baby was calling me to cuddle him.

My hubby was somehow jealous. He said "Mummy Mummy, your darling is calling you!" Then from that day onwards, when my hubby heard me teaching my boy to say Mummy, he will intervene and also teach him to say Daddy. My hubby said: "Baby already know how to call you, you still teach him to call you Mummy. Must teach how to call Daddy now." Wahahaha....

Blackout

There was a blackout this morning at home. I was still in bed when suddenly my fan stopped moving. I woke up immediately and was thinking, how can there be a blackout in Singapore. I looked outside the window, but saw lights all over. Seeing this, I knew something at home cause the main power to trip.

My hubby tried to turn back on the main power, but it trip again and again. I told him to turn off all the sub power, then turn on the main power and on the sub power one by one to find out which was the "culprit"causing the trip. We found it and check on all power switches and found that it was actually the electric thermo dispensing pot causing it.

Therefore, this week we need to get a new Thermo Pot. But I will not get an electric pot anymore. Electrical bills are getting so expensive. Costs are rising. I have decided to boil water every morning and transfer to thermo flash to save some money. Hehehe....

Baby in walker

My baby really likes to be inside the walker. As he can zoom around the house himself, see things at a different angle, he is always so fascinated when he comes to a corner where he has never been before.

Hmm... all of you should know, we can't be carrying our baby in our hands always when they cry. They wanted to be carried because they are too tired of lying down for too long. They want to be upright like us and see things they want. So walker really help me quite abit.

Video to show my family and relatives how fast my baby is growing. Currently he only has "Reversing License". Wahahah....

Some pics of him as well:

Hey friends, I really love to fist. :-)

I wish... I wish....

My Cutie Darling!

Managed to took a video of my baby laughing and playing. Always did not have a chance to do it when Im alone at home. Below is the video I asked my hubby to take while I entertained him.

Especially to my brothers and parents, enjoy this video. Trust me, it will make your day!

My Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and I got a surprise visit by my friend. She came to my house and bought me a birthday cake. It was so sweet of her! Below was the cake she bought:

Of course there was another celebration with my baby and hubby at night. Now with a baby, it is very incovenient to go out for celebration. Just a simple one at home with a birthday cake. However, this is my first birthday with my darling baby. So, even a simplest celebration will be a joyous occasion for me.
Hmm... should know how old I am by counting on the number of candles, rite?

A New Walker!

We bought a walker from Kiddy Palace yesterday for our boy. I decided to get a walker for him despite reading so many news and reports that walker is not good for baby as it hinders and creates problem in baby's development. However I feel that this is very individual. All babies and children are different. Anyway, walkers have been used for so many decades. If there are really big issues, there shouldn't be anymore production of walkers, right? My actual intention in getting the walker is because my baby cannot sit still. He is constanting moving and kicking about and he wants to be carried and walk around to see different things. So, by getting this walker, he can walk around the house and explore things himself without bothering me. I can sit back, surf net, watch TV, but of course, with my eyes fixed on him.

Let me show you some pics of the walker:

This is the big outer box of the walker. We chose the most simple and cheapest walker as we will not be using for too long. Once he started walking, we will keep this walker.

This is how the walker looks like after we fixed it. There is a steering wheel with music if you press on the "horn". There are several nice music installed. Somehow my baby already know that by pressing on the horn, there will be music coming out from it even on the first day itself.
Look at the spoiler at the side of the walker. I told my hubby: "Your car has spoiler, baby's car also has spoiler". Keke... Stylo Milo, right.

Do not disturb me, I'm trying to drive like daddy.

Let me pose for a pic for mummy first. She has been taking great pains to take shots of me, but I'm too busy exploring and manipulating my new found moveable toy! So how do you find my Ferrari? Beautiful? Astonishing?

The day baby George came into our world!

I can remember clearly the day that my baby chose to meet us face to face. Actually on that day, I was suppose to meet my Poly friends who came back from Australia with her family. When I woke up in the morning around 8 plus, I lay on my bed when I heard a sound "pop". I was wondering what sound was it.

I decided to get up from bed to go to the washroom to get myself ready to go out. But to my surprise, my water bag actually broke. I quickly shouted for my hubby who was playing game in the next room to make phone call for me to my gynae. After calling my gynae, we headed to causeway point, raffles woman centre to look for my gynae as she was station there that day. After consulting her, she confirmed I was in labour and told me to be admitted.

We took a cab to Raffles hospital and went to labour ward immediately. Although my water bag broke, I do not have contraction pains. So I can still walk ard. Hehe... The mid wives do all the necessary to get me settled. Look at my anxious look!

My baby was delivered in the evening. He had a loud voice and he cried very loudly when he out! He was delivered 3 weeks before his EDD.

My baby was born just in time to celebrate father's day the next day. I told my hubby: "Your baby loves you very much. He wanted to celebrate father's day with you tmr, so he chose to come out today".

My advice to all Mummies to be: Choose to deliver naturally if you can. As this is the most wonderful experience you will ever have. You will get to cuddle your baby as soon as he is out. These moments are just too special. I will never forget all those moments I have in the delivery ward. It is too wonderful!

First Attempt!

Finally, I have decided to make the first step to start blogging. Had wanted to start blogging actually since last year when all "happenings" began. A number of events happened last year which I will start to share shortly. Those events changed my whole life and I can no longer be what I used to be anymore.

Stay tuned for more!!
