All Wrapped Up!

Great news! During the Henry Glass event last week I had a lot of e-mails regarding the Wrap It Up pattern that was an insert that came with the fall issue American Patchwork & Quilting.  For a very limited time, the editors of APQ have generously put up the directions for All Wrapped Up on the American Patchwork & Quilting website. Here's the link to the pattern. Please note that they've set up a private link just for this pattern. You cannot find it by looking for it on the main page.

Right now, though, the directions are for the alternate coloration. I believe that they may put up directions for my colorway. I hope to see your versions of this fun quilt.

Thank you to the awesome editors at American Patchwork & Quilting.

Enjoy!

Interesting Conversation ...

going on here.

I told you that Mark Lipinski interviewed me for the current issue of his magazine, Quilter's Home. Well, Joann's won't carry this particular issue and the reasons are here. Check out the talk on this issue [Jan. 30th post on his blog].

Sweet Roll

[Photo credit: American Patchwork & Quilting]
Look what I found! My crayon roll made its debut in Better Homes and Gardens' Fall 2008 issue.  It is such a versatile design. You can change it up and use it to store your knitting needles or anything else that pleases you.  You can use any type of fabric and alter the size of the crayon roll for a different look or purpose. Quilt and fabric designer, Jane Sassaman, modified and made the design for her pencils. How cool is that? I love to see what others have done with my designs. Won't you share yours? xo, L

Is There A Doctor In The House?

I am feeling better but I still sound like a loud, barking seal. Do I have any readers who are doctors or nurses [or anyone else with a cure]? Please, tell me of a cure for this hacking cough. I will love you forever.

I have worked through all of this though. It has been tough keeping focus on everything but I have done two interviews in the past month and I have finished two book proposals. Phew!

Have you started making gifts yet? Of course you have! (wink!). If not, then I am sure that you'll only have time for quick little gifts from here on in. First, did you check out the birdies that I designed for Quilts and More back in the Fall 2008 issue?

In the same issue there was the cool little crayon holders that I designed. I love those and plan on making a few to give away to the wee ones in my life. I used my Gardenia fabric in this one.

I also think that pillow ideas are quick and easy designs that you can make. I made the one above a while ago with my Funky Flowers fabric. It's so bright and happy. I'll highlight a few more ideas in the next few days. I have my sister, bil and cute little nephew visiting this weekend. I can't wait. I hope that you are all having fun prepping for the holiday weekend. xo, L

BHG does it again!

Those wonderful peeps at Better Homes and Gardens have done it again. I should have posted these a little earlier but anywho, here's the latest. You can still make them and have some fun with them.

My Halloween quilt was so much fun to design. I dug into my stash and pulled out all of the zaniest, spookiest prints I could find. If you're short on time, Make a small hanging with one of the words or a pillow. These birds were oh so easy to make and they sparkle with the beaded strings. There's huge potential to use all of those funky little fabric scraps that you're not willing to throw out just yet.
This adorable crayon roll is in the same issue. I know several people who have made this cutie. I love this little crayon holder and you can make tons for holiday gift-giving.

Show me your stuff. I'd love to see what you've done with my designs. xo, L
