2nd Anniversary Card

Been a bad blogger, but still have my hand in plaster.  Thats 7 weeks now so typing and doing things is driving me nuts as it takes me much longer to do things.  See the consultant a week on Monday and he'll look at it but it might go straight back into plaster again.

Anyway the reason for this posting is it was my second wedding anniversary yesterday and my friend Paul sent me a fantastic card.  Not that the other handmade cards were not equally as fantastic but Paul doesnt show his cards anywhere and I think he should. The scan doesnt do it justice but I'm not up to getting my camera out and setting it up or it will be next year before it gets shown.

So here itis.  Thanks so much Paul.  I just love the card. x

Think I'll try and take a photo of it later.

Slight Accident

Well, what with me being back at work full time after my pancreatitis I just havent had the time to blog.  I have made a few things and will upload the photos soon, but have had a slight accident.

Last Saturday I caught my heel at the top of the stairs and fell all my length.  It was one of those things that when it happened I knew it would end in disaster. Well I hit my head on the wall on the way down and it bent back, which has given me whiplash. I've got a massive bruise on the top of my thigh. Two bruised knees - one looks as if it has an egg on it too, but the worst bit is I put my hand out - like you do - and I broke my scaphoid and I'm in plaster. What a nightmare it is. Even the simplest things are difficult to do.  Its driving me nuts and I've to be in plaster for about 4 weeks.

And before anyone says it - it was 10 in the morning and I hadnt been drinking,  LOL.  So no crafting for me or knitting. Boy do I miss it.  And typing is difficult.

Happy New Year

Well 2012 is here.  Wishing you all a good one.

This year has been full of ups and downs.  More downs than ups really.  First, my dear friend Kathy passed away after 4 years of fighting cancer.  She was a lovely lady - very family orientated and I was sad she missed the birth of her first grand daughter, Elizabeth,  by only 2 weeks.  I miss her so much.  Second, I took very ill about May/June this year and was admitted to hospital at the beginning of July for 3 weeks.  Took about 3 months to diagnose that I have pancreatitis which is very serious, in fact can be fatal, but I survived it and am still plodding on.  My best friend Susan's mum died on the 14th December, I really felt for her especially at that time of year. To say that I will be glad to see the end of this year is an understatement.  It has been a memorable one for all the wrong reasons and I am really glad that it is over.

It hasnt been all gloom and doom though.  Douglas celebrated his 50th birthday, my youngest niece became 40.  My great nephew Jamie passed his driving test and he started University in September.  My other two great nephews Josh and Scott started college to train to be motor mechanics.

On the run up to Christmas, Douglas had his bank card eaten by the ATM when the systems went down.  We lost our broandband connection - the router died on us and we're still waiting on the new one. On Christmas eve around lunchtime the microwave stopped working, so a mad dash to get a new one and my laptop was hacked and I had to report it to the police.

But there was one piece of news which was the best news ever.  My brother in law getting an MBE.  We are all so proud of him, so a good note to end on.

So I'll raise a glass to you all and wish you all the best of health this year, and hope that 2012 is better than this last year
