OWH #88, MWT & Train Wreck Averted

Card 1: I treated myself to a Tim Holz stamp set using a coupon over a month ago, but had not broke it out yet. I liked the old cars on it for guy cards. Love Sketch #88.

Card 2: Is made using Stampin' Up. Friday night I went to a stamp sale and bought 3 sets, a little paper, and hexagon punches(I have been wanting these). Score!

Card 3: I call train wreck averted because I pulled out the striped from my scrap pile and built a card from that. At one point I was ready to throw it way, but it came together. The punched corners with the red brads is my favorite part.

OWH Sketch Challenge #87

At first glance this seemed like a "tough" sketch so I took a little time to clean up my desk! Which translates in I now have a clean 6"x6" space to work in rather than the 2"x2" I usually work in. I ran across a couple of Bo Bunny scraps in the process which started my wheels turning. The clock background is stamped in addition to the sentiment and corners. I love love these colors!

Bo Bunny and Ciara

What do Bo Bunny and Ciara have in common? OWH, of course! I do love Bo Bunny but I do not have any yummy stickers to coordinate with their Gabrielle line so I improvised by fussy cutting two butterflies off one of the sheets to create a focal point. I added some freehand scallops of Liquid Pearl for some low key bling.

This second card is for Ciara's challenge. According to Snopes the story is not literally true; but is a great reminder figuratively for how much we owe the men and women who protect our country and what they give up. I figured everyone is tired of my Viszla stamp and decided to go -non-traditional. Kinda fun for the true dog lover!

OWH MWT A Bugs Life

I had purchased a makingmemories embellishments for the purchase of making cards geared toward little boys. I also went wild and purchased the Martha Stewart button punch because I love buttons but finding thin ones in the right color for OWH cards can sometimes be tough. Wah-lah, problem solved!

OWH Catch-up?

I took great liberties with Sketch #84 because I wanted to use this stamp and did some coloring. Most of the time I follow sketches exactly; when I don't, I really don't. I was hoping it would be a little closerto the sketch, oh well, it really was my inspiration!

This is my fall card. I love the orange button!

OWH I'm So Grateful

Train wreck averted! I love those cards made with paper doilies, so I snapped up a set of leaves from the Dollar Tree, but they are just a little big for the OWH cards. Halloween (my fav holiday) paper is the base. A little layering, inking, and coloring and wah-lah! It turned out much better than I thought it would when I started!

OWH Sketch #85

I skipped Sketch #84 for lack of time (work, parents, and sleep) but I plan to go back soon, maybe even this week. I was not super inspired by this sketch even though the samples were awesome! I think all my mojo was used this weekend making a 50th Anniversary Banner for my parent's upcoming party. I punched 60 one inch strips of 12" inch paper and now I am feeling the pain. For some unexplained reason the red felt ribbon was calling to me and so I attached it to the white paper and then popped the sentiment. CAS?

OWH Birthday Bash 2011: Day 3

Day 3 of the Birthday Bash is sponsored by We R Memory Keepers. The challenge is to make a card using eyelets or brads. I love brads but not eyelets (I guess they scare me a little). It has been so long since I used my crop-a-dile for an eyelet I almost forgot how, but it is super easy.

Snowflake stickers were used to create the "patterned" paper. They were on my desk begging to be used. I thought they were too small to use on a card otherwise and it was a great way create some dimension. Love the "soldier-safe" foil for a little bling.
