NW Trek
I had some half off coupons to NW Trek so we decided to check it out since I hadn't been in who knows how many years. NW Trek is like a little zoo, but it only has animals native to the Northwest like bears, wolves, foxes, cougars, and other smaller mammals like raccoons, beavers, badger, the like.
They have a Tram ride, Matt thought it was going to be like Bear World back in Idaho, but it's really more like viewing animals in their natural habitat. No feeding bears HoHo's out your window here.
Daddy and baby! It was cold and a little rainy when we went, not a big deal since we are native Northwesters now, but in the Tram they had recently taken the windows off, and it was FREEZING!!
Normally the baby goats are kept hidden by mama and nanny goat, but these little guys were out frolicking around. They were so cute and only 2 days and 1 week old!
Ace was good for the most part, but the end of the tour was lacking animals and he was DONE! But he was still cute as always.
Whoa Buffalo! (Bison i mean)
The Bears seemed to have a pretty sweet set up, but I will admit I felt bad for all of the wild cats in cages, their pens were so small, I bet they were so bored to be in captivity.
Ace really liked the bears. I think they were one of the only animals he could actually see.
We aren't much for buying souvenirs at gift shops but 75% off makes for some pretty cheap snakes. After the tram ride it warmed up a little and it ended up being such a fun day, you can complain all you want about the rain, but nothing smells better than a fresh rainfall in Washington!!

Last Thursday Lincoln had a class field trip to Windmill gardens in Sumner.
When we got there we were given a tour. We walked all around and saw their different gardens, ponds, nurseries, etc. Here a few were aloud into this cute walkway at a time.
They gathered around a workstation and planted a flower. I think it is a Zillia? Linc thought it was so fun, I did end up having to replant his flower though, no big deal.
They had a small open area and just let the kids run around like crazy. I thought that was a pretty good idea.
The class! (this actually isn't Lincoln's class, he only has like 8 other kids in his but for some reason we decided to go with the AM class.)
Afterwards we rushed to the park to let the butterflies they've raised in their class go. Rushed because there was a small window of no rain. Is this boy not the handsomest kid in the world???
Linc and his buddy Braiden. They are in the same class, Braiden is 4 and probably 6 inches taller than Linc.
Miss Lora showing the butterfly off before she lets it go. You can see the back of Lincoln's head, he's getting a nice close look at it.
And of course the baby, "what mom??"

I Hate Blogger
I was going to take some time and let you know about everything that's been going on with us since I never update anymore but it took me almost an hour just to get the pictures on, so now you have to just hear tidbits from grumpy me. Anyways here was our past week.On saturday we bought a van. There is a very long story with it all that I am too tired to tell in detail so pretty much, here is the short version. We hated our car and on an errand run we stopped at a dealership, found this sweet ride for a good deal, only to discover it hardly had any miles on it. After lots of debate we walked away with it (despite having decided to wait a whole year to replace the garbage acura we were so cheated/ stupid for buying.) two days later we are back at the dealership for new floor mats (thrown in of course) and we discover the engine block on the acura is cracked. Heavenly Father let us know our decision to wait was wrong because the acura wouldn't have lasted the week. ok that wasn't as short as i wanted, but come on, i can't even count all the blessings in this situation.
My nephews come over a couple days a week after school and Linc loves it!
We played with food still all over our faces.
And mama even let the baby play naked, which baby was very happy about.
We went to the library for story time.
Ace is super clingy to me, It is tiring, but i love it
The daffodil princess was there for story time. Matt is getting annoyed I have Linc doing all these girly things, but believe me if there was a batman story time, we would go!!
Matt wanted to draw the line at the crown making, but I wrote King Lincoln on it, so thats ok right?
And then I got this picture this morning! Hard to be grumpy when these are my awesome children!!

9 Months!
Well, we made it! My little baby is 9 months old! I love this age, babies are soo much fun and they learn and develop so quickly!!
Nobody believes me when I say Ace's weigh gain has rapidly slowed down. He's 20 lbs 2 oz and still in the 75th% and his thighs are still works of beauty.
He is moving EVERYWHERE! It took him several weeks to figure crawling out, but as soon as he got it down, he started pulling up. I didn't eve have time to be surprised about that because then he started scooting around the furniture! Down our hallway there is a set of about 2 stairs and he mastered it instantly. I don't know how much longer we'll be able to live with Nana with such a mobile baby and so many things to get into.
Ace has a very interesting relationship with food. He never turns food down, and RARELY ever cues to end a feeding. In fact, most of the time when we are finished feeding he screeeaaaams. Even if i feed him something that makes him pull a face he never spits it out. This morning I fed him Grapefuit. Grapefuit people!! Oh and he LOVES ice water. Lincoln wouldn't drink water til he was well over a year, but this kid? The colder the better, what a weirdo!!
We had quite the snowstorm, and Ace was happy to be outside playing with us every minute of it! He is such a funny baby!!
I love pre-one year old because Mama is always the favorite! He likes everyone a lot but once I'm in sight, I'm usually greeted with smiles squeals and oh the ever frequent screams when I walk away. (ok sometimes it can be exhausting but I try as hard as I can to cherish it!) He gets VERY upset whenever i put him down!
He likes being "big" and doing things on his own already. Which can make his older brother a little annoyed at times when he is getting into his stuff. You can always see in his face how proud of himself he is!
Him and Levi here are Best Buds! Even if they live several states apart.
Holy smokes we love this kid so much. :)

5 years!
On the 26th Matt and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. I finally feel like we've known each other long enough that it's not ridiculous that we are married with 2 kids :)
I am one of those girls that always tells their husband not to buy flowers because it's a waste of money. Matt never listens to me and I'm so glad he doesn't, because the truth is they really just make me happy.
Since number 5 is kind of a big deal, we went out to the melting pot! We dropped the boys off at Wendy's and headed out! It was soo good, but theres so much food, and you really feel like you have to eat it ALL. Next time (haha with those prices, pretty sure this will be a one time deal) I'll just get the cheese and chocolate fondue, because that was plenty!!
Matt waiting for the veggies to cook, sooo goooood!
I was already bursting at the seams when they brought out dessert, but the magical thing about chocolate fondue is you always have room for one more chocolate covered strawberry!
And afterwards we walked around the temple, the place where it all went down 5 years ago! (please excuse all these iphone pictures) Gosh, what a wonderful day that was!! I LOVE YOU MATEO!!
First Day of Preschool
Last week Lincoln started preschool. He goes to Little Readers Preschool twice a week and he loves it!
I was pretty excited about the whole getting ready for a new school year even though, it's JUST preschool. (i have to keep telling myself that, it's JUST preschool! The other day I was talking to Matt about Lincoln in high school and he told me I needed to calm down)
He's all set, fall school clothes, hair cut and gel, a bag for his school things, brand new shoes and a flower for his teacher (total bribe, theres no doubt Linc is going to be one of the naughty ones)
He was soo excited to go and can't stop talking about 'Miss Nicole' at 'my preschool'
So excited he even posed for me!! love it!!
(I thought I would enjoy the break I have from him, but 3:00 just can't come soon enough!)
