October 2011

For our birthdays we got costumes, so we decided to use them for Halloween. Can you see the tail on James' dinosaur suit? We went to Jill and Gee Ling's house and they gave us treats.

We went trick or treating with Jessica and Alexandra who dressed as ballerinas. We visited their house, our house and Jill and Gee Ling's. It was so exciting and we got lots of treats!

Now that Lily is 5, she goes to school. On Friday they celebrated international children's day. Lily and James wore traditional Malaysian clothes. This is Lily's friend. Her family are from Sri Lanka.

Subi and Sejin wore traditional Korean clothes. School is great because we can see Subi, Sejin and Josie everyday. Subi's grade 1 classroom is near Lily's classroom in the building you can see behind them. Why is James looking cross? Perhaps he wants to look at the dig-dig that is building the new admin building.

In May James helped Ma plant some trees.

This is Lily on her first day at school. She is wearing her uniform.

Lily and James played in the fountain at the Botanic Gardens. Lily got sooooooo wet that we had to use our picnic blanket as a dress. Lucky it was a sarong!

It's been raining a lot and our garden is looking green. Lily and James picked lots of peas and ate them.

This is Lily on her 5th birthday. She is holding up the suit that she wore home from the hospital.

In July we felt sorry for Silvie our broody hen and bought her some chicks. This is Coco and Polly.

On her real birthday Lily went bowling. Later in October she and James had a big party.

Riding our bikes to the park. Look - Lily has no training wheels! Playing in the rain.
At the zoo with our friends.

The new grown up look after his first haircut. Here he is doing clever things at Montessori with Ma.

"Riding" the new bike with Jill to the Helicopter seed tree ("Gop Gop"). We throw the seeds and they spin around and around.

Sometimes I feel very cross.

In January, Doppy had surgery to remove the lump on his eyebrow. We thought that the anasthetic would make him drowsy. We were wrong...

He ran around the ward like this:

At the train park wearing new shoes from Nyai. (Thank you Nyai. They were great. I have grown a bit more now....)

April 2011

Lily went on a kindy excusion Port Adelaide. Rachel went too. We climbed up the light house.
We played Pass the Parcel at Emily's 5th birthday party. Doppy got to open it! He won a chocolate frog. He really liked it. oh dear...Feeling happier up on top of the light house at Port Adelaide.

Doppy's favourite thing is to check for eggs. He shouts "Ee! Ee! Ee!" and then he opens the door of the chicken house. He picks up the eggs and carefully carries them inside and puts them in the fridge.

This is his best friend Alexandra helping him check the eggs.

One night Lily's kindy had a concert. The children pretended to be characters from the book "Where the Wild Things are". Lily is at the front on the right with a pale pink top on.

Doppy loves to play Ma's viola.

On the excrusiton to Port Adelaide we saw dolphins.

We went on a boat along the Port River and the children all wore life jackets.

We visited the Waite Arboretum with Ma. Inside Urbrae house Ma, Lily and Doppy played a Steinway piano. Wow!

There is a labyrinth in the gardens.

Lily helped the Dr Muggleton the dentist when Dada and Mummy went to get their teeth checked.

Jill and Gee Ling, our next door neighbours, graduated. We had fun taking photos with them by the River Torrens.
